- Modern model of living involves frequent journeys from town to town. Such journeys confirm people in their belief that, concerning sound sphere and physiognomic expression or perceptible flavor, urban public spaces are becoming similar. Such a unified state of urban spaces encourages us to search places where we can experience larger perceptive variety. Physiognomic boredom can be eliminated by a view of trees and a comfort of distant perspective. Concerning flavor sphere, it would be desirable to return to the recipes based on natural not processed food. Analogically, desirable state of auditory comfort can be achieved by elimination of civilization city noise and its replacement by natural sounds. The report and presented ideal projects refer to the thesis introduced above. Concerning the auditory sphere, a sources of comforting sounds can be forces of the nature accumulated in the water and in the air. In elaborated conceptual projects were shown possibilities of these sound sources utilization for establishing in public space of Warsaw comforting sound spheres. The first project entitled “the Sound water wheel” presents an idea of utilization of the Vistula river race force for emission of natural sounds made by water first elevated and than falling down to the river, crashing onto various obstacles through its way. The idea refers to floating watermill which functioned on Vistula in Warsaw for a few centuries. The second project entitled “the Sounds of arcades” presents an idea of utilization of natural air flowing for moving and bumping one metal pipe against another, suspended under the ceiling inside the arcades of the Great Theatre building. Empty and up to now unused arcades, can become a comforting sound place within the Theatrical Square area.
