Opis:
The acoustic coagulation process is based mainly on the orthokinetic interaction of aerosol particles vibrating with different amplitudes and phases. The presence of drift forces, gathering particles at loops pr nodes of the standing wave, may play auxiliary role by effecting a local growth of particle concentration. The standing wave produces regions of increased concentration and an orthogonal progressive sawtooth waves causes proper agglomeration by maximizing the orthokinetic process. In the presented paper we consider the continuity equation of aerosol particles in regions between nodes and antinodes and the problem of time variation of particle concentration under the influence of drift forces. We show that the concentration at points of stable equilibrium increases exponentially and we estimate the time constant of the process. The time constant depends strongly on the particle radius and frequency. Aerosols of particles of diameters less than several microns are the most dangerous for the environment and for man from ałmost all standpoints. Considering different types of drift we pay speciał attention to those acting on rełativeły small particles. In the real sound field we have to deal with a non uniform field configuration, which means that the actual sound wave deviates from the perfect one dimensional wave. The present paper deals with main effects of two-dimensional sonic fields on particle-gas interactions. In the case when the nodal and antinodal surfaces of the standing wave are convex, the particles move along some curves and, as we expect, gather in some particular points and not only in some planes. This means that one can obtain much greater concentration of particles in some definite regions than in the case of plane standing wave.

Opis:
In the work under presentation it was performed theoretical analysis of acoustic field influence on processes proceeding into two-component medium which is fog (waterdrops suspended in the air). Acoustic waves may influence on media where they propagate.Acoustic field, except for the fact that causes to accelerate waterdrop coagulation process, influences kinetics of phase changes: water – steam (gas). If gas medium is not steam – saturated enough then under acoustic field, evaporation of waterdrops suspended in the air follows. If then gas medium is steam – saturated enough so under acoustic field increase in size of waterdrops follows (fog condensation). In the both cases the change of waterdrop radius value is observed, suspended in the gas medium and this causes the change of its clarity. Under specific conditions these processes cause fog dispersal, then it is possible to use acoustic field as agent causing increase in atmosphere clarity.

Opis:
The purpose of this paper is to present examples of the application of the Mathieu functions to solving problems in the field of acoustics, mainly underwater acoustics. The Mathieu functions have application to aspects of waves related to ellipses and elliptical cylinders: elliptical membrane vibration, vibration of water in elliptical containers, etc. The reason why theses functions have attracted little attention so far is mainly the complexity of the issues they involve. Among all the other functions occurring during the separation of the variables in a wave equation (with partial derivatives) in various co-ordinate systems, the Mathieu functions were the first non-hypergeometric ones. Hence, there are difficulties in the theory of these functions, as well as the calculations involved. The reflection of a sound-wave is studied at an inhomogeneous layer with parallel surfaces separating two homogeneous semi-infinite media having different indices.

Opis:
The presented study involves the problem of acoustic energy absorbed by aerosols. The aim of this paper is to present results of the valuation of ultrasound energy absorption general coefficient in the dispersions (aerosols). Aerosol particle is an obstacle for acoustic wave propagating and to surmount of which some energy of the medium vibrating is lost. Aerosol particle results in both acoustic energy scattering and its absorption. Besides, there are heat losses connected with periodic variation of the medium temperature. In this connection propagation of acoustic wave in the aerosol is related to decrease in wave intensity to more extent than in propagating a wave in a pure gaseous medium.
