    Opis:
    RailTopoModel is a tool for logical define object model of the data related to railway infrastructure. In April 2016, the standard was released by the UIC (International Union of Railways) as International Railway Standard IRS 30100:2016. RailML has been developed since 2002. It is based on the XML - meta-language that is used to define other languages. RailML is used as a data exchange format in railway systems. It includes within its scope data relating to railway traffic management, rolling stock management, stacking timetables, information for passengers, booking and selling tickets. RailML is currently available in version 2.3. Its upcoming version 3.0 has been especially designed to ensure compliance with RailTopoModel and will be the first practical implementation of this standard. Additionally interlocking schema will be included to the RailML 3.0 schema. The authors pay attention to the importance of both RailML and RailTopoModel specification. The current state of the standards and their prospects are discussed. The authors also present their own software which allows edit and validate RailML files.

    The paper considers an intelligent electronic embedded system for the protection of railway transport from accidents, its compatibility with the existing railway control system, principles of its components interoperation and control algorithms. The paper gives the definitions of the functions performed by the system considered and its mathematical description applied to the realization of the control algorithm. The process of the device prototype testing is described with the obtained results, advantages and further prospects

    Opis:
    This paper presents selected aspects that affect information security in the GSM-R digital mobile phone network. With respect to telecommunications safety, selected methods and mechanisms have been analysed that make it possible to ensure the required level of radio coverage, reliability, availability and continuity of services in the GSM-R network. The paper also discusses selected modules for EC procedures for assessment and verification used in the technical specifications for interoperability.

    Opis:
    The article presents the essence of security management in railway transport and to identify the priorities of Poland’s transportation system. The main problem of paper was formulated as follows: How is the Safety Management System of Rail Transport functioning, taking into account national and international legal regulations and existing threats? In the solving of mentioned problem, the following research methods were applied: analogy, definition, analysis, synthesis, induction, deduction, modeling and diagnostic survey with expert research sample. The research was carried out with emploees of company PKP PLK S.A. A systemic approach underlies the Safety Management System (SMS) functioning now in Poland. To guarantee the proper conduct of transport, each railway transportation enterprise and each administrator of infrastructure is required to create a system based on effective risk management. Adequately prepared SMS procedures should assure the implementation of risk control means and the monitoring of the effectiveness of the applied solutions in order to warrant the due level of safety. Presently, digital transformation is of major importance to the development of railway transport. New management systems will be based on technologies utilizing the Internet, automatization, robotization, and new tools, such as big data.
