Opis:: This paper presents selected aspects that affect information security in the GSM-R digital mobile phone network. With respect to telecommunications safety, selected methods and mechanisms have been analysed that make it possible to ensure the required level of radio coverage, reliability, availability and continuity of services in the GSM-R network. The paper also discusses selected modules for EC procedures for assessment and verification used in the technical specifications for interoperability.

Opis:: The article presents some problems for the radio network planning rail system digital mobile GSM-R. There is a description of the architecture of the system, a set of available services and the different ways of data transmission. Then there are presented certain conditions that should be taken into account for the link and the requirements for network dimensioning for the purpose of determining the physical capacity of the network. Volume generated within the base station telecom traffic affects not only the number needed to handle the movement of resources, but also implies a number needed to allocate frequency channels.

Opis:: Paper deals with problems of KMS (Key Management System), which is developed in mobile communications GSM-R (Global System Mobile for Railway) recommended within the European Train Control System (ETCS), through the Euroradio system. Th e main part is oriented to safety procedures description of off-line KMS system between communication entities of ETCS system. In the experimental part the results of computational safety of modifi ed DES algorithm are summarised using special brute force attack to key – birthday paradox.
