Opis:
The three-phase induction motor is well suited for a wide range of mobile drives, specifically for electric vehicle powertrain. During the entire life cycle of the electric motor, some types of failures can occur, with stator winding failure being the most common. The impact of this failure must be considered from the incipient as it can affect the performance of the motor, especially for electrically powered vehicle application. In this paper, the intern turn short circuit of the stator winding was studied using Fast Fourier transform (FFT) and Shor-Time Fourier transform (STFT) approaches. The residuals current between the estimated currents provided by the extended Kalman filter (EKF) and the actual ones are used for fault diagnosis and identification. Through FFT, the residual spectrum is sensitive to faults and gives the extraction of inter-turn short circuit (ITSC) related frequencies in the phase winding. In addition, the FFT is used to obtain information about when and where the ITSC appears in the phase winding. Indeed, the results allow to know the faulty phase, to estimate the fault rate and the fault occurrence frequency as well as their appearance time.

Opis:
Responding to the needs of quality and robustness of analysis and management of degradation of equipment, to increase their life cycle and to expand these facilities to become more and more sophisticated and agronomic. This work proposes a contribution to increase the survival of a gas turbine, installed in a gascompression plant, with a comparative study between the two-parameter Weibull distribution. A new modified Weibull distribution was proposed also to reduce the risk of occurrence of failure in this rotating machine. A Statistical analysis and validation on the synthesis of turbine's reliability data and failures were considered, with a particular focus on the use of this data to increase the availability of this type of machine. So, developing a maintenance plan based on their reliability indices for scheduled inspections.

The research presents issues related to fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and statistics. In the first sections, the authors review methods and parameters of fluid measurements. The work mainly emphasizes measurements concerning the parameters of air flows during human breathing. In the following section, the test bench for the analysis is described, and the methodology of data acquisition is described. Finally, the authors present a numerical model of the measurement channel and its calculations compared to measurements from an actual test stand. The data acquirement was performed with LabVIEW, modeling with COMSOL Multiphysics®, and calculations with MATLAB software.

The use of new technologies in modern industry improves productivity but induces complexity in the industrial system. This complexity makes it vulnerable to faults, which requires significant expense in terms of safety, reliability and availability. Indeed, a diagnostic operation is essential for the operational safety and availability of these industrial systems. This diagnostic operation is based on two important functions which are the detection and localization of anomalies, which consists to verifying the consistency of the data taken in real time from the installation with a reliable model, to ensure the good performance of the monitoring system. Hence, the diagnosis of gas turbines is a main component for making maintenance decisions for this type of machine. In this paper, the faults detection approach based on fuzzy logic is applied for the vibrations monitoring of a gas turbine, in order to monitor their operating state by including the detection and occurrence of vibration faults, thus using determined fault indicators based on the input/output variables of the examined gas turbine. In this work, the investigation results of fuzzy fault detection approach applied on gas turbine vibration are presented, based on the actual data recorded in the different gas turbine operating modes. However, analysis of the defect detection results was performed in order to determine the influence of these vibration defects on the deferent operating modes of the examined machine. This makes it possible to find the causes of failures and then to deduce the actions to follow the operational safety of the examined turbine.

In this paper the laminar unsteady natural convection heat transfer of (Al2O3-water) nanofluid inside 3D triangular cross section cavity was investigated. The cavity was heated differentially, the vertical walls were kept at different constant temperatures. The left hot and the right cold. The effect of the solid volume fraction was examined for two values and compared with the pure water results. The (Ra) range studied was (103≤Ra≤106). Inserting cylindrical body inside the cavity also investigated in three cases. One concentric cylinder has radius (15%) of the cavity side length. The other cases were of two cylinders having radius (7.5%) of the cavity side length, aligned vertically or nonaligned. The results show that the higher solid volume fraction gives the maximum enhancement of the average (Nu) and this enhancement increases with (Ra) increase. For the cases with inner cylinders, the average (Nu) enhanced for the case of double cylinders over single cylinder. On other hand, the nonaligned position of the cylinders giving more enhancement than other position. As like as, the location of maximum horizontal or vertical velocities were varied with the cylinders position while (Ra) has no effect.

Vibration control is very important for high-speed rotors. Oil film damping is considered an effective vibration-damping method, especially for long shafts in gas turbines, ships, and other high-speed rotating equipment. The existing groove in the internal surface of the tilt bearing increases the amount of oil that flows through the bearing; this is more effective in suppressing the vibration of the rotor system carried by the plain bearing. In order to suppress the vibration of the rotor system, which is supported by sliding bearings, a different groove-shaped oil flow (GSOF) is studied and analysed in this paper. A different shape of grooves in bearings was set up and measured to study the vibration-damping effect of the flow oil shape with GSOF. ANSYS software presents significant benefits to engage Fluent for oil flow with Transient structural for vibration measurements. This paper uses these terms to perform the simulation numerically to explore the groove-shaped damper's damping effect under the rotor system. The study identified three enhancements of vibration and settling time. First, the circular groove showed a 35.71% reduction in amplitude and 10% increase in stilling time; the next one is the circular groove which reduced the amplitude by 42.85% and the settling time by 0%. The third modification was the inclined groove which reduced the amplitude by 42.85% and the settling time by 12%. The last one was the triple-inclined groove, which reduced the amplitude and settling time by 57.14% and 20%, respectively.

The buried metallic pipeline which parallels to the HV power line is subject to induced voltages from the AC currents flowing in the conductors, these voltages can affect the operating personnel, pipeline associated equipment, and the pipeline integrity. This paper analyses the induced voltage and current on the buried pipeline running parallel to HV power lines. It also presents an optimization procedure of different parameters that affect the level of the induced voltage in the pipeline during normal operating conditions. A comparison study between the proposed optimization algorithms (GOA, GE, DE and PSO) is done with a maximization of a given objective function. The simulation results establish that the GOA algorithm provides a faster convergence and better solution than the other optimization algorithms. Thus, the statistical analysis according to Friedman’s rank test confirmed the superiority of this proposed algorithm. Furthermore, the results show that the parameters optimization of the metallic pipeline is an effective approach to provide the best performance for mitigation which is generally sufficient to reduce the induced voltage experienced by the buried metallic pipeline to enforce the safety limit.

The stress-strain relations, displacement distribution, stress resultants and mid plane strain resultants of a functionally graded material plate are studied using Hamilton’s principle. A simply supported rectangular thick shell direct stress, inplane shear stress, transverse stress and displacement are investigated. The analysis and modeling of five layers FGM shell is carried out using MATLAB19 code with ABAQUS20 software. Using distinct materials on the top and bottom layers of the shell, a transverse uniform load in five degrees - of - freedom is applied with a specific Poisson's ratio and Young's modulus in a power and sigmoidal law function through the thickness direction. A power law was used to determine the distribution of properties through shell thickness. The results showed that the bottom layer affected significantly most stress due to subjected to the most in-plane stress while the displacement is greatest at the top layer.

Unfortunately, potential flaws in these devices might have a negative impact on the facility's profitability and service quality. As a result, diagnostic tools for detecting flaws in these types of devices must be developed. Asynchronous machine problems can be diagnosed using a variety of methods. The common damage in engineering structures, especially in functionally graded materials, such as failure resulting from fiber breaking or cracking in the matrix or deboning between fibers and matrix, as well as the delamination between the composite material plies and between its layers, may be due to thermal effects, vibration, load concentration as a result of stress and strain for provides information’s about structural health monitoring. Virtual energy method such as Hamilton's was used to investigate the effect of the design parameters such as side to thickness and modular as well as material graduation index ratio on the stress-strain relationships, displacement, resultants of stresses, and resultants of mid plane strain. The analysis and simulation of the FGM shells is done in this paper utilizing MATLAB19 code and ABAQUS20 programs. The distribution of characteristics across shell thickness had also been determined using a power law. Normal stress was varied gradually from 5.74 MPa to 9.55 MPa with material index (n) from 0 to 10 respectively, while shear stress varied from 4.2 to 8.23 MPa for the same value of (n). The strain percent increased slightly from 0.00059 to 0.0012 with displacement 0.22 and 1.2 respectively for the same value of (n).

During this work, the roof of the car was used as an engineering application to study and monitor the occurrence of failures under the influence of various loads. The shells are made of multilayer composite materials using epoxy resin reinforced with carbon fiber and aluminium oxide granules as reinforcing materials to increase the impact resistance that vehicles may be exposed to while driving, in addition to other loads and conditions such as vibration and constant exposure to moisture and sunlight. The simulation program was used the finite elements method through software Abaqus program in addition to the program MATLAB v.2020a to process the data obtained from the method that used in this study. The results showed that the specified failure criteria work well for predicting the overall structural response such as strain, stress, maximum force and displacement. The losses of energy of impact collision increase as an increase in impact velocity. The dissipation of energy which depend on the stress and strain distribution during elastic deformations. The effect of thickness of the lamina plays an important role in health monitoring the structure.

In this research a public dataset of recordings of EEG signals of healthy subjects and epileptic patients was used to build three simple classifiers with low time complexity, these are decision tree, random forest and AdaBoost algorithm. The data was initially preprocessed to extract short waves of electrical signals representing brain activity. The signals are then used for the selected models. Experimental results showed that random forest achieved the best accuracy of detection of the presence/absence of epileptic seizure in the EEG signals at 97.23% followed by decision tree with accuracy of 96.93%. The least performing algorithm was the AdaBoost scoring accuracy of 87.23%. Further, the AUC scores were 99% for decision tree, 99.9% for random forest and 95.6% for AdaBoost. These results are comparable to state-of-the-art classifiers which have higher time complexity.

In this paper, the ability to detect broken rotor bar (BRB) defects in a small renewable energy system (based on a squirrel cage induction generator (SCIG)) by the digital signal processing of captured phase currents, is presented. The new approach proposed in this study is a combination of two techniques. The first technique is a discrete wavelet transform (DWT) by the decomposition of the phase current signal in multilevel frequency bands. This is performed with the analysis of some selected approximations and/or details, which contain both the lower and upper sideband components presenting the characteristic frequency of the BRB fault. The second technique is power spectral density (PSD) analysis. This approach provides the ability to optimize the diagnosis of rotor defects in electrical generators. The results obtained by the proposed DWT-PSD approach are proved and improved by comparing them with the results of the PSD analysis, obtained from the original phase current signal delivered by the 5.7-kW squirrel cage induction generator, based on a small wind energy conversion system.

Recently, the reduction of fuels consumption is a global challenge, in particular for significant investments in the automotive sector, in order to optimize and control the parameters involved for the partial or total electrification of vehicles. Thereby, the energy management system remains the axis of progress for the development of fuel cell hybrid electric vehicles. The fuzzy controller has been widely adopted for energy monitoring, where the determination of its parameters is still challenging. In this work, this problem is investigated through a secondary development of a fuzzy energy monitoring system based on the Advisor platform and particle swarm optimization. The latter is used to determine, for different driving conditions, the best parameters that increase the fuel economy and reduce the battery energy use. As a result, five tuned fuzzy energy monitoring system models with five sets of parameters are obtained. Evaluation results confirm the effectiveness of this strategy, they also show slight differences between them in terms of fuel economy, battery state of charge variations, and overall system efficiency. However, the fuzzy energy monitoring system tuned under multiple conditions is the only one that can guarantee the minimum of the state of charge variations, no matter the driving conditions.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. The diagnosis is made by non-invasive methods, but it is far from being comfortable, rapid, and accessible to everyone. Speech analysis is an emerging non-invasive diagnostic tool, and a lot of researches have shown that it is efficient in speech recognition and in detecting Parkinson's disease, so can it be effective for differentiating between patients with cardiovascular disease and healthy people? This present work answers the question posed, by collecting a database of 75 people, 35 of whom suffering from cardiovascular diseases, and 40 are healthy. We took from each one three vocal recordings of sustained vowels (aaaaa…, ooooo… .. and iiiiiiii… ..). By measuring dysphonia in speech, we were able to extract 26 features, with which we will train three types of classifiers: the k-near-neighbor, the support vectors machine classifier, and the naive Bayes classifier. The methods were tested for accuracy and stability, and we obtained 81% accuracy as the best result using the k-near-neighbor classifier.
