Opis:
Thermal stability in terms of characteristic temperature and kinetic parameters of different compositions of glassy $Se_{80-x}Te_{20}Sb_{x}$ (x=0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10) have been investigated. Differential scanning calorimetry under nonisothermal conditions have been proposed to investigate thermal characteristic of these compositions. The thermal stability of these glasses was obtained in terms of various simple quantitative methods based on the characteristic temperatures, such as the glass transition temperature, $T_{g}$, the onset temperature of crystallization, $T_{in}$, the temperature corresponding to the maximum crystallization rate, $T_{p}$, and the melting temperature, $T_{m}$. Furthermore, the kinetic parameter $K_{r}(T)$ was achieved as another indicator for thermal stability and its results about stability compared with those evaluated by other criteria. The results of both the criteria and the kinetic parameter $K_{r}(T)$ confirm that the thermal stability increases with increase of Sb content. The results also refer to that: the glass transition $T_{g}$, activation energy of crystallization $E_{p}$ and the frequency factor $K_{0}$ were increased with the addition of Sb. These results have been discussed in terms of the average coordination number, cohesive energy and average heat of atomization.

Opis:
A THz free electron laser is being built in Ariel University. Upon completion it is intended to become a user facility. The free electron laser is designed to emit radiation between 1 and 5 THz. It is planned to operate in the super radiance regime. The anticipated output of the free electron laser is in excess of 150 kW instantaneous power. An essential part of every free electron laser is a device generating a periodic magnetic field denoting the wiggler. Here we describe a design of a classical Halbach type permanent magnetic wiggler for the THz free electron laser. The main novelty in this paper is the choice of wiggler parameters suitable for operation in the THz frequency range. Considerations such as radiation wave length, wiggler gain and electron optics are taken into account.

Opis:
The optimization of pulsed power inductors' geometry is a difficult multi-dimensional task. On the one hand, an inductor could be destroyed because of the Joule overheating, on the other hand, it might be damaged by the Lorentz forces acting in its windings. The magnetic field pulse up to 50 T is the target while fields of this magnitude are the interest in many scientific applications. All factors mentioned are directly dependent on inductor's geometry, i.e. on the number of winding layers and windings per layer. Therefore, a detailed analysis of thermodynamic, electromagnetic and mechanical processes is inevitable and was carried out for different geometrical inductor configurations to reach the goal: a non-destructive inductor that can meet required magnetic field parameters. Direct calculation methods were used to create universal algorithms in MATLAB environment. The zone of inductor geometries, where stresses do not exceed the yield strength of materials, inductor is not overheated and generated magnetic field magnitude is in acceptable range, is given as a result which enables to manufacture new prototypes saving additional costs and time.

Opis:
Influence of Coulomb repulsion between fermions on stability of the superconducting state in the model of boson-like local electron pairs hybridized with wide-band fermions is studied. It is shown rigorously that the Bose condensation of the local pairs implies a divergence of the pairing susceptibility in the fermion subsystem. Charge carrier concentration dependence of the critical temperature T$\text{}_{c}$ is evaluated with the help of random phase approximation and spectral properties of the bosons at T$\text{}_{c}$ are analyzed.

Opis:
The SU(2) coherent state path integral is used to investigate the partition function of the Holstein dimer. This approach naturally takes into account the dynamical symmetry of the model. The ground-state energy and the number of the phonons are calculated as functions of the parameters of the Hamiltonian. The renormalizations of the phonon frequency and electron hopping for bonding and antibonding states are considered. The destruction of quasiclassical mean field solution is discussed.

Opis:
Raman spectroscopy and spectroscopic ellipsometry have been used to characterize Si/Si$\text{}_{0.78}$Ge$\text{}_{0.22}$ superlattices grown by molecular beam epitaxy on (001)Si at different substrate temperatures. The results are interpreted to give information on material and interface quality, layer thicknesses, and state of strain. The observed frequencies of zone-folded longitudinal acoustic phonons in a high quality sample agree well with those calculated using Rytov's theory of acoustic vibrations in layered media.

We study the evolution from BCS to Bose limit in a two-dimensional d-wave superconductor at zero temperature and low density of charge carriers within the mean-field theory. We examine single quasiparticle properties when particle density and attraction strength are varied. For sufficiently high interaction strength there is a critical density below which the system has a gap. The spectral and thermodynamic properties of the system do not evolve smoothly from the BCS-like to the Bose-like regime.

Opis:
The relativistic symmetries of the Dirac equation within the framework of spin and pseudospin symmetries is investigated for Deng-Fan potential including the Coulomb-like and Hulthen-type potential tensor interaction terms. The energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave function are obtained using the parametric generalization of Nikiforov-Uvarov method. We have also reported some numerical results and figures to show the effect of the tensor interactions.

The solution of spinless Salpeter equation with generalized Hulthén potential using SUSYQM formalism is presented. We obtained approximately the energy eigenvalues and the corresponding wave function in a closed form for any arbitrary l state. We have also reported on the numerical result of our work.

A simple picture describes the results of recent treatments of partially-condensed, dilute, trapped Bose gases at temperature T>0. The condensate wave function is nearly identical to that of a T=0 condensate with the same number of condensate atoms, N$\text{}_{0}$. The cloud of non-condensed atoms is described by the statistical mechanics of an ideal Bose gas in the combined potentials of the magnetic trap and the cloud-condensate interaction. We provide a physical motivation for this result, show how it emerges in the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov-Popov approximation, and explore some of its implications for future experiments.

A new approach to many-body quasiparticle dynamics of the Anderson impurity model at finite temperatures is proposed in the framework of the equation-of-motion method. We find a new exact identity, which relates the one-particle and many-particle Green functions. Using this identity, it is shown that a new interpolating approximation for the one-particle Green function can be constructed. The approximation which simultaneously reproduces the weak-coupling limit and the strong coupling limit can be formulated self-consistently. This approach offers a new method for a systematic construction of the approximate interpolating dynamical solutions of strongly correlated electron models.

Magnetic separation is one of the methods that are used to separate magnetic and non-magnetic components from an input mixture. Its effectiveness strongly depends on the strength and distribution of magnetic field in the separator. It is economical to use Halbach permanent magnet arrays to create a suitable magnetic field, since they do not change their properties during separation and do not need electrical energy. During real magnetization process, however, there can be a problem with correct orientation of their magnetization vector. The work based on 2D computer models shows the influence of different orientations of magnetization vectors of individual elements of Halbach arrays on the size and distribution of the magnetic field in the considered separator space. Several model systems that contained four to six typical AlNiCo, SmCo and NdFeB cube shaped magnets with the dimensions 50×50×50 $mm^3$ were used for the analysis.

The chemical etching of intrinsic and n-type polycrystalline silicon in $Br_2$ ambient is considered. The theoretically calculated dependences of silicon etching rates on pressure of $Br_2$ molecules at different temperatures are compared with experimentally measured ones. The reaction and desorption activation energies are evaluated. It is found that activation energy of Si + $Br_2$ → $SiBr_2$ reaction for intrinsic silicon is equal to (1.82 ± 0.24) eV, and decreases to (1.45 ± 0.24) eV when n-type silicon films are used. Desorption activation energy of $SiBr_2$ molecules for intrinsic silicon is equal to (1.94 ± 0.17) eV, and decreases to (1.51 ± 0.17) eV when n-type silicon films are used. Desorption of $SiBr_2$ molecules is an etching-rate limiting process at high pressure of $Br_2$ molecules.

In this work, we present a new result which concerns the derivation of the Green function relative to the time-independent Schrödinger equation in two-dimensional space. The system considered in this work is a quantal particle that moves in an axi-symmetric potential. At first, we have assumed that the potential V(r) to be equal to a constant $V_0$ inside a disk (radius a) and to be equal to zero outside the disk. We have used, to derive the Green function, the continuity of the solution and of its first derivative, at r=a (at the edge). Secondly, we have assumed that the potential V(r) is equal to zero inside the disk and is equal to $V_0$ outside the disk (the inverted potential). Here, also we have used the continuity of the solution and its derivative to obtain the associate Green function showing the discrete spectra of the Hamiltonian.

The article constitutes the continuation of the works realized under the research project entitled: "The development of the method for marking and identification of the spots dangerous and of special importance for vision impaired persons in the big city with use of the wave-vibration markers". The consideration included the identification of the object (human), identification of the direction of movement (double barrier), wireless data transmission with the information on the dangerous area, stimulation of the vibration signal and the feedback of the system. This article presents the result of choice of the optimal solution regarding the installation of the system on the selected objects of the urban engineering and also presents the concept of the method of modelling of the shape of the zone that is used for marking of the dangerous spot.
