Opis:
Theory analysis and experiments have been done to find out the factors which decide on the self-restoration speed of low remanence toroid cores. The results show that in the right working circuit, the core with appropriate pulse permeability can be restored to its remanence after excitation within 1 μs without reset current. Therefore, the toroid core restoration in a MHz repeat frequency, multi-pulse induction cavity is likely to be solved by choosing the right material of cores and use proper working circuit.

Opis:
X-ray diffraction studies of liquid naphthalene and, for the sake of comparison, of liquid benzene and diphenyl were performed. The results permitted the determination of the intermolecular distances and the packing coefficient. A comparison of the structures of liquid naphthalene, benzene, and diphenyl shows that in benzene and diphenyl 3 coordination spheres of molecular ordering can be distinguished in the range up to 18 Å, while in naphthalene only two in the range up to 15 Å. Analysis of the space packing in (benzene, naphthalene, and diphenyl) all liquids studied has proved its substantial increase with increasing volume of their molecules.

We have measured magnetic response of second-generation high temperature superconductor $YBa_2Cu_3O_{x}$ wire and Nb thin film in perpendicular ac field as a function of temperature. We compare experimental complex ac susceptibility to the calculated susceptibility based on the model of Bean's critical-state response in two-dimensional disk in perpendicular field. The harmonic analysis is needed for comparison between the model and the experimental data. We present a method of linking model and experimental susceptibility. Good agreement of experimental susceptibility with model susceptibility of 2D disk allows contactless estimation of critical depinning current density and its temperature dependence.

Opis:
Amorphous carbon and NiO/carbon composites were used as an electrode material for supercapacitors. The investigations were performed to evaluate the influence of the Ar/$C_2H_2$ ratio on the capacitance values of carbon and NiO/carbon electrodes. The surface morphology of the carbon electrodes changes from snowflake-like to columnar with the increase of the Ar/$C_2H_2$ ratio. The Raman scattering spectroscopy results demonstrated that the $I_{D}//I_{G}$ ratio decreases from 1.33 to 0.91 with the increase of the Ar/$C_2H_2$ ratio. It indicates the decrease of the sp^2 bonded carbon in the coatings. The specific capacitance of the carbon electrodes increases with the increase of the Ar/$C_2H_2$ ratio. The NiO/carbon electrodes show capacitance values 10 times larger as those of carbon electrodes. The largest specific capacitance of 27.7 F/g was obtained for NiO/carbon electrode, when carbon coating was deposited under Ar/$C_2H_2$=27.

Opis:
In this study a carbon and NiO/carbon electrodes were prepared and investigated. The surface roughness increases with the increase of the torch power. The addition of the NiO changes the surface structure from a snowflake-like to a mesh-like. It was demonstrated that the addition of the nickel oxide to amorphous carbon increases the specific capacitance of composite electrode. However, the NiO/carbon electrodes have a lower breakdown voltage values and longer charge-discharge cycles.

In this paper, surface potential decay after corona charge deposition has been investigated for low density polyethylene (LDPE) films. We believe that the three ways of electron charge decay on the surface of insulating polyethylene film is reasonable. The factor of neutralizing with opposite charge in air is negligible, and leakage along insulator surface or through the body is much more important for electron charge decay. Both ways are related with surface voltage of the sample. When the voltage is lower than a critical value, surface leakage contributes most. If the voltage is higher than this value, the electron energy on the surface of the sample exceeds the critical value and it is easy to cross the "deep trap". In this situation, the body leakage is more important, and the decay on the surface of sample speeds. That is why there exists decay curve crossing phenomenon.

Nuclear quadrupole hyperfine structure in 2$\text{}_{1,2}$ ← 3$\text{}_{0,3}$ and 1$\text{}_{1,1}$ ← 2$\text{}_{0,2}$ rotational transitions of CH$\text{}_{2}^{35}$Cl$\text{}_{2}$ at 9.2 and 15.9 GHz, respectively, was measured with a newly constructed pulsed supersonic beam, cavity Fourier transform microwave spectrometer. All components of nuclear quadrupole splitting tensors of the chlorine nuclei in inertial and in principal quadrupole axes were determined. It is shown that in methylene halide molecules nuclear quadrupole information leads to a value for ∠(XCX) which is systematically larger than ∠(XCX) defined by the positions of the nuclei. Some novel features of the spectrometer are also described.

Influence of Cu particles for the carbon nanostructures formation during a-C:H films deposition by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition method from pure acetylene gas plasma were analyzed in this work. Silicon wafer and Cu target were simultaneously bombarded by $Ar^{+}$ ions for the Cu particles deposition on the silicon before a-C:H films formation. It was obtained that hydrogenated silicon carbide forms on this defected Si/Cu surface during the first stage of carbon film deposition. Structure of a:C-H films and conditions of nanostructures formation depended on substrate temperature and Cu concentration in the film, then deposition time was 300 s.

Thermal behavior and microstructure of $Fe_{81 - x}Co_{x}Zr_7Nb_2B_{10}$ (x = 2, 4, 6) alloys were investigated by differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction. Both the supercooled liguid region Δ $T_{x}$ and the first crystallization peak temperature $T_{p1}$ are the lowest and the span Δ $T_{p}$ between $T_{p1}$ and $T_{p2}$ is the highest when 4 at.% Fe is substituted by Co. The crystallization activation energy $E_{p1}$ for $Fe_{75}Co_6Zr_7Nb_2B_{10}$ alloy is the minimum for the heating rates ν = 5-20 K/min. $E_{p1}$ for $Fe_{77}Co_4Zr_7Nb_2B_{10}$ alloy is the minimum for the heating rates ν = 20 - 50 K/min. The crystallization processes of $Fe_{81 - x}Co_{x}Zr_7Nb_2B_{10}$ (x = 2, 4, 6) amorphous alloys are similar on the whole, which is as follows: amorphous → amorphous + α-Fe(Co) → α-Fe(Co) + $Fe_3Zr$ + $Fe_2Nb_{0.4}Zr_{0.6}$.

The influence of deposition conditions on the structure, magnetic properties, and electrical resistivity of Fe-Hf-O films, prepared by the supersonic plasma jet deposition technique, was investigated. Composition of the films was controlled by the nozzle composition and the working gas. It varied in the limits: 15-68 at.% of Fe, 0.5-8 at.% of Hf and 29-80 at.% of O. The films were mainly X-ray amorphous. Some of them showed a weak and broad peak near the [110] reflection of α-Fe indicating the presence of Fe-rich clusters in an amorphous matrix. Depending on the deposition parameters the magnetic properties vary from paramagnetic to ferromagnetic ones. The electrical resistivity changes from the metallic to the hopping type. In some samples a large negative magnetoresistance is observed.

Hydrogen adsorption on thin platinum films under isothermal conditions within the temperature and pressure intervals 78-298 K and 10$\text{}^{-10}$-10$\text{}^{-2}$ Torr has been studied measuring simultaneously surface potential (SP) and pressure (P), by means of a sensitive, short response time apparatus. Two forms of hydrogen deposit of different electrical character have been distinguished. The first one arising at the beginning of adsorption decreases the surface potential, the second one following it increases the SP due to positively polarized adspecies formation. This positively polarized form is inhomogeneous as concerns binding energy. Hydrogen uptake associated with the decrease of SP becomes larger with increase of temperature. It seems that this β¯ form of the adsorbate stabilizes the positively polarized adspecies on the surface.

Conductivity and structure of materials belonging to pseudo-binominal group $(AgI-Ag_2MoO_4)$ were investigated. Structure was investigated by X-ray and scanning electron microscopy techniques. It was found that described materials present a variety of internal structures. This type of structures affects conductivity at room temperature, so there is correspondence between conductivity and structure.
