The electrical conductivity tensor components σ$\text{}_{xx}$(H) and σ$\text{}_{xy}$(H) have been transformed into mobility spectrum. The resolution of the mobility spectrum has been discussed. As an example the electrical conduction in HgTe and HgCdTe samples have been analyzed using resistivity tensor components, conductivity tensor components and using the mobility spectrum.

Opis:
We have found a novel organic semiconductor, BTQBT, with a high electrical conductivity of about 10$\text{}^{-3}$ S cm$\text{}^{-1}$ and a high Hall mobility of about 3 cm$\text{}^{2}$ V$\text{}^{-1}$s$\text{}^{-1}$ at room temperature. We have also succeeded in measuring the temperature dependence of the Hall mobility. It varies with temperature as Τ$\text{}^{-1.6}$, which agrees with the theoretical Τ$\text{}^{-1.5}$ dependence for the mobility determined by lattice scattering. The characteristic transport property of BTQBT results from strong intermolecular interactions in the crystal, which is convinced by the energy dispersion with a bandwidth of about 0.5 eV from the theoretical and experimental band structures.

Here, we present the domain wall dynamics in thin magnetic wires that exhibit even negative mobility regime. Such a regime is well below the Walker limit and is a result of structural relaxation. It disappears at high frequencies and it can be enhanced by application of mechanical stress. Moreover, the domain wall velocity was found to be almost field-independent at certain measuring conditions. Anyway, the domain wall velocity remains quite high (> 450 m/s) in this regime.

Classical Hall mobility experimental setup was applied for samples with parallel plane (sandwich) variable conductivity layers. The measured effective Hall mobility strongly depends on applied electric field and does not characterise the real carrier mobility. Numerical modelling explains the effect as a consequence of electric field redistribution and lowering at Hall contacts. Measurement of carrier mobility in such structures is suggested.

We calculate the impurity-scattering limited mobility of the one-dimensional electron gas in a rectangular GaAs quantum wire confined in the vertical (growth) direction by n-modulation doped AlGaAs layers and free standing along the transverse direction. The scattering potential of the ionized impurity is obtained by solving the Poisson equation with z-dependent electrostatic permittivity in order to take into account the image charge effect due to the abrupt permittivity change at the GaAs/air interfaces. We show that the "image impurity" scattering tends to drastically reduce the electron mobility for sufficiently small (≈10 nm) transverse wire widths.

We report on iodine doping of molecular beam epitaxy (MBE)-grown Cd(Mn)Te quasi-bulk films and modulation-doped CdTe/Cd$\text{}_{1-y}$Mg$\text{}_{y}$Te two-dimensional (2D) single quantum well structures. Modulation doping with iodine of CdTe/Cd$\text{}_{1-y}$Mg$\text{}_{y}$Te structures resulted in fabrication of a 2D electron gas with mobility exceeding 10$\text{}^{5}$ cm$\text{}^{2}$/(V s). This is the highest mobility reported in wide-gap II-VI materials.

Opis:
We study many-body localization in a one dimensional optical lattice filled with bosons. The interaction between bosons is assumed to be random, which can be realized for atoms close to a microchip exposed to a spatially fluctuating magnetic field. Close to a Feshbach resonance, such controlled fluctuations can be transfered to the interaction strength. We show that the system reveals an inverted mobility edge, with mobile particles at the lower edge of the spectrum. A statistical analysis of level spacings allows us to characterize the transition between localized and excited states. The existence of the mobility edge is confirmed in large systems, by time dependent numerical simulations using tDMRG. A simple analytical model predicts the long time behavior of the system.

Opis:
We use 3D discrete dislocation dynamics technique to study a low-angle tilt boundary migration subjected to applied shear stress at high temperatures, where diffusion significantly contributes to the dislocation motion. The model considers Peach-Koehler forces due to interactions between individual straight dislocation segments. The model also addresses dislocation plasticity in a field of impenetrable incoherent spherical precipitates. Velocities of the individual dislocation segments are calculated in relation to the crystallography of the material. Several calculation series have been carried out for different velocity and driving force relations. The results show that there exists a critical applied shear stress, below which the low angle dislocation boundary cannot surpass the rigid precipitates and remains in an equilibrium configuration. This agrees with experimental results obtained in creep tests of dispersion strengthened alloys. The critical stresses have been calculated also for situations where the applied stress was decreased during the interaction between the low-angle tilt boundary and the precipitates.

The mobility of the 100 nm $Fe_2O_3$ particles in dense water solutions of sugar (sucrose) was determined from the analysis of the resonance absorption line shape of the Mössbauer spectra recorded in the -5°C to 40°C temperature range for different sugar concentrations. The discrepancy between the experimental data and the prediction of the classical theory of Brownian movement are interpreted in the term of the short observation time and the interaction between the solid particles in fluids, which extends in water up to 300 nm. The sedimentation process in the studied colloids was observed.

The high electron mobility transistors can act as a resonator cavity for the plasma waves that can reach THz frequencies for a nanometer size devices. As was predicted by Dyakonov and Shur in 1993, the steady state of the current flow in a gated 2D electron gas can become unstable leading to the emission of an electromagnetic radiation at the plasma wave frequencies. The theory predicted also that the plasma waves can be used for resonant detection of THz electromagnetic radiation. In the present paper we review our recent experiments on THz emission and detection performed on high electron mobility transistors based on different semiconductor structures: InGaAs/GaAlAs, GaAs/GaAlAs, and Si.

A set of stretched isotactic polypropylene fibres prepared with the draw ratio λ = 2.5 at different temperatures was investigated by $\text{}^1H$ pulsed relaxation NMR method and continuous wave spectroscopy. Both, drawing and temperature of drawing influence physical properties of isotactic polypropylene fibres. NMR technique is shown to be advantageous for the study of these changes on molecular level since the shape of broad-line NMR spectra and processes of the NMR relaxation depend on the spatial configuration and motions of the resonating nuclei.

Mechanism of the optical detection of cyclotron resonance via emission from 2D electron gas in modulation doped quantum wells and in high electron mobility structures of GaAs/AlGaAs is discussed based on the results of time-resolved optical detection of cyclotron resonance. An important role of impact ionization processes is demonstrated. We also show that microwave radiation destroys emission enhancement at the Fermi level and the relevant mechanism is proposed.
