Opis:
In this paper design and realization of a dual reflector antenna for receiving internet signal in the point-to-point system is presented. Three different configurations of dual reflector antenna have been considered to obtain the antenna operating in 5.2-5.8 GHz band and having small dimensions. The results of computer simulations and measurements are shown. The design was based on electromagnetic simulations using QW-V2D package (an axisymmetrical version of finite-difference time-domain software). In measurements the method with a reference antenna was used. Additional discussion about using the main reflector of smaller diameter and decreasing spillover radiation was performed.

Opis:
Dual-frequency plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition was used to grow diamond-like carbon thin films from $CH_4,$ $H_2$ gas mixture. The effects of radio frequency, microwave power, and gas ratio were investigated. Various species have been identified in the $CH_4-H_2$ plasma using optical emission spectroscopy and their effects on film properties have been studied. Increasing the RF power to 400 W, the variation trend of refractive index and CH, $C_2$ intensity ratios change beyond the 300 W, but the growth rate shows the continuous increasing character from 6 to 11.6 nm/min. Increasing the hydrogen content in the system, the intensity ratio of CH, $C_2$, $CH^{+}$ and growth rate show decreasing tendency and the refractive index rises from 1.98 to 2.63. Adding MW produced plasma to the system grows the refractive index to 2.88 and growth rate to 10.8 nm/min. The water contact angle rises from 58.95° to 73.74° as the RF power increases to 300 W but begins to reduce until 400 W. In addition, the contact angle shows a growing tendency by increasing the hydrogen flow to the chamber. In addition, the structures of the films were investigated by the Raman spectroscopy.

Bulk samples consisting of BaCe_{0.85}Y_{0.15}O_{3-δ} (BCY15) and Ce_{0.85}Y_{0.15}O_{2-δ} (YDC15) compounds, mixed together in different ratios, were studied as potential electrolytes in dual protonic ceramic-solid oxide fuel cells and compared with non-composite BCY15 and YDC15. The microstructures of the sintered materials indicate that BCY15 exhibits the largest grains, whereas composites have greater visible porosity than the non-composite samples. From X-ray diffraction studies it follows that BCY15 and YDC15 consist mainly of one phase, whereas the composites are two-phase materials. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy studies at different temperatures show that the composite materials are capable of conduction the order of 10¯³ S/cm at temperatures above 500°C in a hydrogen-containing atmosphere. Furthermore, activation energy values of the conductivity determined for the composites in air atmosphere are between those obtained for BCY15 (E_{a}=0.590±0.017 eV) and YDC15 (E_{a}=1.132±0.008 eV). From this it follows that both phases of the composites influence the electrical conductivity of the materials. In conclusion, BCY15 and the BCY15-YDC15 composites show promise for future use as electrolytes in dual protonic ceramic-solid oxide fuel cells.

In the present study, the performance of an air standard dual cycle is analyzed using finite-time thermodynamics. The relations between the power output and the compression ratio, between the power output and the thermal efficiency are derived by detailed numerical examples. The results show that the maximum power output and the power output at the maximum efficiency point increase and then decrease as the equivalence ratio and/or the mean piston speed increases. The results also show that the optimal compression ratio corresponding to maximum power output point and the working range of the cycle remain constant as the mean engine speed is increased, but they increase and then decrease as the equivalence ratio is increased. It is noteworthy that the results obtained in the present study are of significance for providing guidance with respect to the performance evaluation of practical internal combustion engines.

The dual cycle is a better approximation to the modern high speed compression ignition engine than either the Diesel cycle or the Otto cycle. Therefore, this study is aimed at investigating the effects of pressure and cut-off ratios on the dual cycle performance with considerations of heat transfer loss, variable specific heat ratio and friction irreversible losses. By using finite-time thermodynamics theory, the relations between the power output and the compression ratio, between the thermal efficiency and the compression ratio, as well as the optimal relation between power output and the efficiency of the cycle are obtained. The results show that if compression ratio is smaller than certain value, the increase of pressure ratio and the decrease of cut-off ratio make the power output bigger. While if compression ratio exceeds certain value, the power output first increases and then starts to decline as pressure ratio and cut-off ratio are increased. With further increase in compression ratio, the power output decreases with increasing pressure ratio and decreasing cut-off ratio. The effects of pressure and cut-off ratios on the variation of the thermal efficiency with compression ratio are similar to those for the power output. The results obtained in this work can provide significant guidance for the performance evaluation and improvement of modern high speed compression ignition engines.

Opis:
A study of the influences of press ram pulsation on deep drawability of dual phase steel sheet is presented. General characteristics of deep drawing process, press ram pulsation technique and dual phase steels are briefly discussed. A finite element model is used to evaluate the influence of pulse motion profile of press ram on the thickness reduction of steel sheet and forming load. Commercial finite element software package DEFORM-3D is used for modelling and simulation of cylindrical cup drawing. The effects of superimposed low frequency vibrations of the press ram are investigated. Pulsation amplitudes of 0.5, 0.25, and 0.125 mm are created on the die with the corresponding pulsation frequencies of 5, 10, and 20 Hz. Finite element simulations are carried out using material model of dual phase (DP600) steel, that is one of the most widely used materials in automobile industry, in order to improve crash safety and fuel economy. Results obtained with press ram pulsation are compared with results for the conventional press ram motion and significant effect of proposed method is demonstrated.

The main aim of the work is the integration of two different fiber-optic sensors: the Michelson interferometric sensor, the Mach-Zehnder interferometric, the Sagnac interferometric and modalmetric sensors. The proposed hybrid sensor is a classical interferometer whose measuring arm is upgraded with modalmetric sensor. The theme of research is to assess the impact of modalmetric sensor to interferometer and comparative assessment of detection capabilities of interferometric sensor, modalmetric sensor and hybrid sensor for different types of excitations. The described tests concern the area of basic researches. The results can be used in the construction sensors with corresponding characteristics and properties to the appropriate applications.

A mathematical model describing the sum frequency generation of passively synchronized Q-switched pulses simultaneously emitted from two separate $Nd^{3+}:YVO_4$ lasers has been demonstrated. This model describes the temporal behavior of the output pulses, and studies the impact of the pumping energy variation on the characteristics of these pulses (output power, pulse separation, pulse widths, delay time). $V^{3+}:YAG$ and $Cr^{4+}:YAG$ saturable absorbers and a periodically poled KTP crystal are used to achieve and improve the synchronization of the emitted 1342 nm and 1064 nm wavelengths. The synchronization process generates pulsed yellow light with 593.5 nm wavelength, and it can be realized through adjusting the pumping energy of the gain media.

In this paper we report how dielectric spectroscopy can help in creating of dual-frequency nematic liquid crystals. Dual-frequency nematic liquid crystals is new class of liquid crystal materials. Such mixture is usually formed by a combination of many components (even more than 10), which can be split into two groups: molecules having large transverse dipole moment and molecules with a large longitudinal dipole moment. The behavior of a base (parent) mixture, functional admixtures and final dual-frequency nematic liquid crystals mixture is investigated by dielectric spectroscopy in wide frequency (100 Hz-10 MHz) and temperature ranges. This allows us to find out why the dual-frequency liquid crystal has an important feature: positive and negative dielectric anisotropy at different frequencies. We present parameters of molecular motions around short (S-mode) and long (L-mode) molecular axes observed in investigated materials and discuss how the creation of final dual-frequency nematic liquid crystals mixture can modify molecular relaxations.

The frequency dependences of complex initial permeability for triple-component composite materials based on two different types of ferrite filler (MnZn and NiZn ferrite) and a nonmagnetic polymeric matrix (PVC) were studied in the frequency range of 10 kHz-1 GHz. The frequency dispersion of permeability is discussed by means of a dynamic model based on the superposition of the two types of magnetic resonance, the resonance of vibrating domain walls and the resonance of precessing magnetic moments in domains.

It is shown that the mid/far-infrared (IR) and THz pulse generation via intracavity difference-frequency mixing in quantum-well dual-wavelength heterolasers can be rather efficient under mode-locking regime for one or both lasing fields even at room temperature. In a simple model we derive an explicit formula for intensity of the generated IR or THz pulse and find that this method is capable of producing picosecond pulses at ≈1 GHz repetition rate with the peak power of the order of 1 W and ≤ 0.2 mW at 10 μm and 50 μm wavelengths, respectively.
