Opis:
The measurements and the observations of tulip tree in Pomerania region were conducted in years 2000 and 2004. The height of the trees was measured with the use of Suunto height gauge, and the trunk perimeter with the aid of tape measure in the height of 130 cm of the trunk length measured from the soil level. The general appearance, condition and wholesomeness of yellow-poplar trees, blossom and the presence of self-sown plants were observed. 37 tulip trees, in these 35 yellow-poplar trees, 2 Chinese tulip trees and one individual of yellow-poplar tree of variety – ‘Aureomarginatum’ were inventoried. The blossom and seed setting was observed on 29 trees and 2 of them produced self-sown plants. The highest yellow-poplar tree was measured in Przemysław. The tree reached the height of 44.5 m. The largest trunk perimeter – 367 cm, possessed the individual of yellow-poplar tree in Barzkowice. The legal protection in the form of recognizing the trees as tree natural monuments should be given to minimum of 13 of inventoried yellow-poplar trees. Old individuals of yellow-poplar trees growing in parks of Pomerania show full acclimatization. That fact is proved by the dimensions they reach and undergoing by them all stages of their development cycle.

Opis:
Cerasus fruticosa is a rare and endangered plant species in Poland. In northern part of the country it occurs on scattered localities of relic, early Holocene (preboreal) character. Most of the species stands known from the end of 19th century have disappeared in the last decades. All data, revised in the field 40 years ago, were checked in 2000-2002. The species survived on 6 localities of 14 ones, confirmed in sixteenth. The hybridization between C. fruticosa and C. vulgaris is one of the main reasons of extinction of the first species. The floristic composition of plant communities with C. fruticosa was examined and compared with relevant literature. The regression of photophilous and thermophilous plant species, characteristic for associations with C. fruticosa and moderate invasion of synanthropic ones were observed.

Opis:
The aim of undertaken research was recognition the reasons of dying out the common juniper Juniperus communis L. ssp. communis population in the forest nature reserve “Jałowce” (Pomerania). Applied methods of dendrochronological analysis let to determine the age of juniper-stand in the reserve and describe the influence of climatic conditions on its growth. Obtained results testify to Juniperus communis chronology with signature WIE collected from 17 individual sequences which numbered 102 tree ring width and represented a time span 1903 to 2004. Such results described the juniper-stand in the reserve as ageing population with the oldest specimen at age 98 years. However, the last several years were characterised by the lack of strong growth depressions typical for earlier time periods with tree ring width ranged 0.7–1.0 mm (themean annual tree ring width amounted to 0.85 mm), but the visible symptoms of degeneration and dying out of protected common juniper population intensified probably because of its age.
