Opis:
LED light must be cooled to avoid reaching a certain temperature. Two different 3D practical domains of LED light are modelled, (i) square aluminium plate with a cylindrical plate and an LED module (model I), (ii) the same provision of model I with 25 fins (model II). ANSYS 16.0 is used for solving the problem. Temperature distribution, junction temperature (Tj ) and heat flux are estimated. Analyses are carried out for various ambient temperatures (Ta) and for different LED power dissipations (Q) to identify the safe operating conditions. In model I, it is found that 38% of working conditions go beyond the critical limit of Tj and it is reduced to 21.4% in model II. In model II, for low Ta of 30 and 40 C with all Q considered in this analysis are safer. If Ta is between 30 and 80 C, then Q must be maintained at 0.5 to 1.25 W. Beyond this, conditions are not safe.

Opis:
The paper discusses the feasibility, effectiveness and validity of a gas turbine power plant, operated according to the Brayton comparative cycle in order to develop low-potential waste heat (160◦C) and convert it into electricity. Fourteen working fluids, mainly with organic origin have been examined. It can be concluded that low molecular weight working fluids allow to obtain higher power efficiency of Brayton cycle only if conversions without taking into account internal losses are considered. For the cycle that takes into account the compression conversion efficiency in the compressor and expansion in the gas turbine, the highest efficiency was obtained for the perfluoropentane working medium and other substances with relatively high molecular weight values. However, even for the cycle using internal heat recovery, the thermal efficiency of the Brayton cycle did not exceed 7%.

Opis:
The paper presents the results of theoretical studies influence of non-uniform temperature distribution along the feedstock length to the unit friction force working on the metal contact surface with the roll change during the round bars 70 mm in diameter continuous rolling process. This value is one of the major factors affecting the grooves wear during the rolling process. The studies were carried out based on the actual engineering data for 160 × 160 mm square cross-section feedstock of steel S355J0. Numerical modelling of the rolling process was performed using Forge2008®, a finite-element based computer program.
