The development of railway transport in the current times is very noticeable, it is connected with the growing needs of movement as well as the development of information engineering. The increase in the demand for transport requires the implementation of solutions that increase the efficiency of the transport system. Both long-distance, agglomeration and metro railways can use different systems due to their specificity. Nevertheless, there is a noticeable trend in the development of systems supporting or even replacing the driver by the automation of selected activities. Such systems allow to reduce trains headway and thus increase the capacity of the line. CBTC class systems (Communications-based train control) belong to automatic train systems and are based on wireless transmission. The main purpose of using such systems is to increase the frequency of running trains while maintaining the level of safety. Computers that are on the system equipment record, process and analyse very large amounts of data. An essential element of such systems are recording units. The parameter recorders can be divided into technical and legal ones. However, for CBTC class systems, there is no obligation or requirement to use legal recorders as it is in the case of ETCS. However, it is necessary to use event recorders, and these are subject to the requirements set out in the PN-EN 62625-1: 2014 standard. The recorders are a very important component of safety systems, which is why they were analysed in this article. Both the driver, the vehicle and the infrastructure should be subject of continuous monitoring. The occurrence of an adverse event (not necessarily leading to an incident or accident) should be analysed and used to improve safety procedures. Currently, automatic systems are still developing and we are not able to accurately assess what the causes and effects of certain events may be, which is why data collection and analysis is particularly important. The article presents the general specification of the CBTC system. The parameters and properties of driving recorders should be presented. Opis:
Ensuring the greatest possible interoperability of rail transport, especially for railways in Europe, is one of the key projects to be implemented using the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), including the European Train Control System (ETCS) and the Global System for Mobile Communications-Railways (GSM-R). The ERTMS system aims to replace many different rail traffic control systems with one, common and unified European solution (Commission Regulation (EU) 2016/919, 2016), (Directive (EU) 2016/797, n.d.) Its creation was dictated by the desire to standardize the traffic control systems present in the territories of various European countries, at the same time extending their functionality and eliminating the existing technical barriers. The aim of this article is to present the possibility of implementation interoperability tests - IOP tests, on Polish railways. These tests are intended to provide a faster, more accurate and less costly demonstration of compliance with the ETCS interoperability requirements compared to field tests. The work defines the concept of interoperability tests as well as the purpose of their application. The general principles and procedures for conducting interoperability tests are presented. In the further part of the work, the operation of laboratories in the European Union is analysed. The laboratories functional in Switzerland and Spain were selected for this analysis. Following, the paper presents the validity of implementing interoperability tests on the territory of the Republic of Poland. On the basis of the pan-European procedure of conducting interoperability tests and the experience of foreign independent laboratories, conditions for the implementation of tests in the Polish railways were developed, which could be used in the future to introduce IOP tests in Poland.

Communication-based Train Control (CBTC) system is a widely-used signaling system. There is an increasing demand for innovating the traditional ground-centric architecture. With the application of train-train communication, object control and other advanced techniques, Train-centric CBTC (TcCBTC) system is expected to be the most promising tendency of train control system. The safe tracking interval would be reduced as well as the life-cycle costs. Formal methods play an essential role in the development of safety-critical systems, which provides an early integration of the verifiable design process. In the paper, the architecture design of TcCBTC is first analyzed. The official system specification of TcCBTC has not issued, so it takes efforts to perform the systematic summarization of the functional requirements. Secondly, we propose an integrated framework that combines the Colored Petri Net (CPN) models with the functional safety verification of the underlying systems. Functional safety depends on the logic accuracy and is a part of overall safety. The framework also specifies what kinds of functions, behaviors or properties need to be verified. The train control procedure of TcCBTC is regarded as the link among new functional modules, thus it is chosen as the modelling content. Thirdly, the scenarios and the color sets are prepared. Models are established with the novel design thought from top to bottom. Simulation and testing are implemented during the model establishment to discover the apparent errors. Lastly, the model checking by state space is performed. All possible states are checked in detail. Standard behavioral properties and other user-defined properties are verified by state space report and ASK-CTL (Computation Tree Logic) queries, respectively. Verification results reveal that the models are reasonable to depict the dynamic behaviors of train control procedure. The functional safety properties are satisfied and prepared for further drafting the system functional specification.

With the rapid development of communication technology, the Train-centric Communication-based Train Control (TcCBTC) system adopting the train-train communication mode to reduce the transmission link of control information, will become the direction of urban rail transit field development. At present, TcCBTC system is in the stage of key technology research and prototype development. Uncertain behavior in the process of system operation may lead to operation accidents. Therefore, before the system is put into use, it must undergo strict testing and security verification to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the system. In the paper, the formal modeling and quantitative analysis of train tracking operation under moving block are carried out. Firstly, the structure of TcCBTC system and the train tracking interval control strategy under moving block conditions are analyzed. The subsystem involved in train tracking and the uncertain factors in system operation are determined. Then, based on the Stochastic Hybrid Automata (SHA), a network of SHA model of train dynamics model, communication components and on-board controller in the process of train tracking is established, which can formally describe the uncertain environment in the process of system operation. UPPAAL-SMC is used to simulate the change curve of train position and speed during tracking, it is verified that the model meets the safety requirements in static environment. Finally, taking Statistical Model Checking (SMC) as the basis of safety analysis, the probability of train collision in uncertain environment is calculated. The results show that after accurately modeling the train tracking operation control mechanism through network of SHA, the SMC method can accurately calculate the probability of train rearend collision, which proves that the method has strong feasibility and effectiveness. Formal modeling and analysis of safety-critical system is very important, which enables designers to grasp the hidden dangers of the system in the design stage and safety evaluation stage of train control system, and further provides theoretical reference for the subsequent TcCBTC system design and development, practical application and related specification improvement.

The traditional train speed control research regards the train as a particle, ignoring the length of the train and the interaction force between carriages. Although this method is simple, the control error is large for high-speed trains with the characteristics of power dispersion. Moreover, in the control process, if the length of the train is not considered, when the train passes the slope point or the curvature point, the speed will jump due to the change of the line, causing a large control error and reducing comfort. In order to improve the accuracy of high-speed train speed control and solve the problem of speed jump when the train runs through variable slope and curvature, the paper takes CRH3 EMU data as an example to establish the corresponding multi-point train dynamics model. In the control method, the speed control of high-speed train needs to meet the fast requirement. Comparing the merits and demerits of classical PID control, fuzzy control and fuzzy adaptive PID control in tracking the ideal running curve of high-speed train, this paper chooses the fuzzy adaptive PID control with fast response. Considering that predictive control can predict future output, a predictive fuzzy adaptive PID controller is designed, which is suitable for high-speed train model based on multi-point. The simulation results show that the multi-point model of the high-speed train can solve the speed jump problem of the train when passing through the special lines, and the predictive fuzzy adaptive PID controller can control the speed of the train with multi-point model, so that the train can run at the desired speed, meeting the requirements of fast response and high control accuracy.

Development of a method for calculating the optimal mode of conducting a train in terms of energy saving meet the safety requirements and schedules. The method of calculation must solve the assigned tasks without significant time spent on the calculation. To implement this method of calculation was used a simplified model of the train as a controlled system. The existing mathematical and algorithmic methods for solving isoperimetric problems of finding the optimal solution in the presence of restrictions on resources were the information base for methodology development. Scientific works of domestic and foreign scientists, professional periodicals, materials of scientific and practical conferences, methodical and normative materials, currently in force on Ukrainian Railways. The results of these studies were used to create simulators on the basis of computer technology for the training of locomotive drivers. The scientific novelty of the proposed calculation method consists in applying the simplified calculations of the status of the train as a controlled system, without the use of differential equations of motion that allows to significantly increase the speed of the calculations. This, in turn, will solve the problems of finding optimal control in real time, taking into account changing conditions during the movement of the train. The practical significance of the obtained results is the use of such a calculation method that does not require significant time for its implementation and can be used as a subsystem of the on-board train control system capable of performing calculations taking into account changes in the current train situation.

The elaboration shows basic requirements fulfilled by controlling devices, together with work sequences of each particular configuration. These devices are commonly used in railway and subway networks and they ensure traffic safety on the stations and routes. The train however, is driven by engine-driver who observes indications on semaphores and undertakes certain decisions in drive and brake control. The guarantee of safe train operation is achieved by introducing automatic train protection system – ATP. Principle of operation, shown as a graph, have been discussed, as well as ATP systems development course, based on constant data transmission channels, mainly the rail duct that uses modern rail track and newly introduced radio channel. Significant improvements in parameters of transmission channel by using jointless rail track have been emphasized. Necessity of using point transmission to forward constant rail marks that are essential for train's self-localization has been indicated. Selected properties of different ATP systems are presented in chart.
W opracowaniu podano podstawowe wymogi, które spełniają urządzenia sterowania ruchem kolejowym – srk wraz z sekwencjami działania poszczególnych układów. Urządzenia te są powszechnie stosowane na sieci kolei i metra i zapewniają bezpieczeństwo ruchu na stacjach i liniach. Natomiast pociąg jest prowadzony przez maszynistę, który obserwuje sygnały na semaforach i podejmuje określone decyzje w zakresie sterowania napędem i hamulcami. Zapewnienie bezpiecznego prowadzenia pociągu osiąga się przez wprowadzenie systemu automatycznego ograniczenia prędkości ATP. Omówiono zasady działania podane w formie grafu oraz kierunki rozwoju systemów ATP w oparciu o kanały ciągłej transmisji informacji, głównie kanał szynowy, wykorzystujący współczesny tor kolejowy oraz nowo wprowadzany kanał radiowy. Podkreślono znaczną poprawę parametrów transmisyjnych kanału przy wykorzystaniu toru z zespawanymi szynami i odpowiednim podtorzem, przeznaczonym dla kolei dużych prędkości. Wskazano również na konieczność stosowania punktowej transmisji dla przekazania do pojazdu stałych punktów toru, niezbędnych do samolokalizacji pociągu. Wybrane właściwości różnych systemów ATP zestawiono w tabeli.

The purpose of the article is developing the locomotive structure of intellectual system of support of decision-making and to find a criterion by which to adequately assess different control action to the train. System of decision support for locomotive crew is seen as a complex structure with complex interactions located at a great distance, on-board locomotive systems. The quality of the organization determines the effectiveness of the system as a whole. To solve the problem of creating the optimal structure of the DSS applies the aggregate-decomposition method that involves two steps: decomposition of the problem into a number of subproblems and aggregating the partial results. To evaluate the quality control of a locomotive used the concept of control strategy with specific indicators. Design is developed and structure of locomotive DSS is obtained, taking into account peculiarities of operation of railway transport. To account for not only quantitative but also qualitative characteristics of activity of the locomotive or intellectual systems of decision support, it is proposed to use methods of fuzzy logic. So were able to deduce and calculate the additive criterion of the quality control activities of the intelligent system. Formal indicator of the quality of the train control process using different strategies is received. In the work theoretically grounded definition of the weighting factors for each partial criterion of the quality of train control. Using the dependencies derived, the nature of the influence of the value of partial criteria on the quality of train control in relation to a strategy. The results of the work allow to more accurately simulate the operations of a locomotive crew, which in the future will serve as the basis for the development of autonomous intelligent systems of locomotive control. The developed method is shown to be three main criteria which values the safety, energy consumption, and execution time schedule. However, for more flexible and accurate model, this approach allows to enter additional criteria, and the simplicity of the calculation provides the necessary speed when implemented on on-board locomotive computers.

The underframe passive inerter-based suspended device, based on the inerter-spring-damper vibration attenuation structure, could improve the dynamic performance of the train body, but its parameters are fixed and cannot meet the dynamic performance requirements under different operating conditions. Therefore, a semi-active inerter-based suspended device based on the linear quadratic regulator (LQR) control strategy is proposed to further enhance the dynamic performance. The rigid-flexible coupling vertical dynamic model of the train body and an underframe semi-active inerter-based suspended device are established. The structural parameters of the semi-active inerter-based suspended device are adjusted using LQR control strategy. Dynamic response of the system is obtained using the virtual excitation method. The dynamic characteristic of the system is evaluated using the Sperling index and compared with those of the passive and semi-active traditional suspended devices as well as the passive inerter-based suspended devices. The vertical vibration acceleration of the train body and Sperling index using the semi-active inerter-based suspended device is the smallest among the four suspended devices, which denotes the advantages of using the inerter and LQR control strategy. The semi-active inerter-based suspended device could decrease the vertical vibration acceleration of the train body and further suppress its elastic vibration in the lower frequency band, more effectively than the other three suspended devices. Overall, the semi-active inerter-based suspended device could significantly reduce elastic vibration of the train body and improve its dynamical performance.
