Opis:
In the present discussion, the plane strain deformation due to laser pulse heating in a thermoelastic microelongated solid has been discussed. The analytic expressions for displacement component, force stress, temperature distribution and micro-elongation have been derived. The effect of pulse rise time and micro-elongation on the derived components have been depicted graphically.

Opis:
The paper is devoted to study the effect of gravity, magnetic field and laser pulse on the general model of the equations of generalized thermoelasticity for a homogeneous isotropic elastic half-space. The formulation is applied under four theories of generalized thermoelasticity: the coupled theory, Lord-Schulman theory, Green-Lindsay theory as well as Green-Naghdi theory. By employing normal mode analysis, the analytical expressions for the displacement components, temperature and the (mechanical and Maxwell’s) stresses distribution are obtained in the physical domain. These expressions are also calculated numerically and corresponding graphs are plotted to illustrate and compare the theoretical results. The effect of gravity, magnetic field and laser pulse are also studied and displayed graphically to show the physical meaning of the phenomena. A comparison has been made between the present results and the results obtained by the others. The results indicate that the effects of magnetic field, laser pulse and gravity field are very pronounced.

Opis:
The governing equations of generalized magneto-thermoelasticity with hydrostatic initial stress are solved for surface wave solutions. The particular solutions in the half-space are applied to the boundary conditions at the free surface of the half-space to obtain the frequency equation of Rayleigh wave. The frequency equation is approximated for small thermal coupling and small reduced frequency. The velocity of propagation and amplitude-attenuation factor of Rayleigh wave are computed numerically for a particular material. Effects of magnetic field and hydrostatic initial stress on the velocity of the propagation and amplitude-attenuation factor are shown graphically.

Opis:
In this paper, the two-temperature thermoelasticity model is proposed to a specific problem of a thermoelastic semi-infinite solid. The bounding plane surface of the semi-infinite solid is considered to be under a non-Gaussian laser pulse. Generalized thermoelasticity analysis with dual-phase-lags is taken into account to solve the present problem. Laplace transform and its inversion techniques are applied and an analytical solution as well as its numerical outputs of the field variables are obtained. The coupled theory and other generalized theory with one relaxation time may be derived as special cases. Comparison examples have been made to show the effect of dual-phase-lags, temperature discrepancy, laser-pulse and laser intensity parameters on all felids. An additional comparison is also made with the theory of thermoelasticity at a single temperature.

Opis:
A general model of the equations of generalized thermo-microstretch for an infinite space weakened by a finite linear opening mode-I crack is solved. Considered material is the homogeneous isotropic elastic half space. The crack is subjected to a prescribed temperature and stress distribution. The formulation is applied to generalized thermoelasticity theories, using mathematical analysis with the purview of the Lord-Şhulman (involving one relaxation time) and Green-Lindsay (includes two relaxation times) theories with respect to the classical dynamical coupled theory (CD). The harmonic wave method has been used to obtain the exact expression for normal displacement, normal stress force, coupled stresses, microstress and temperature distribution. Variations of the considered fields with the horizontal distance are explained graphically. A comparison is also made between the three theories and for different depths for the case of copper crystal.

Opis:
The theory of generalized two-temperature thermoelasticity is used to solve the boundary value problems between two elastic media with two different types of temprature under the influence of gravity. The classical dynamical coupled theory and Lord-Şhulman theory are used to obtain the general solution of the governing equations and investigate the effect of surface waves in an isotropic elastic medium subjected to gravity field. The harmonic vibrations method is used to obtain the displacement components, stress tensor and temperature distribution in the considerd physical domain with comparison with the two theories. The obtained analytic solution of the problem is applied for special cases for which the effect of two temperatures is studied. The conductive and dynamical temperatures as well as stress and strain components are shown graphically for a suitable material. Some comparisons are also introduced in the absence and in the presence of gravity, and two-temperature parameter. The differences in the obtained results between the two theories are considered.

Opis:
In the present article, we introduced a new model of the equations of generalized thermoelasticity for unbounded orthotropic body containing a cylindrical cavity. We applied this model in the context of generalized thermoelasticity with phase-lags under the effect of rotation. In this case, the thermal conductivity of the material is considered to be variable. In addition, the cylinder surface is traction free and subjected to a uniform unit step temperature. Using the Laplace transform technique, the distributions of the temperature, displacement, radial stress and hoop stress are determined. A detailed analysis of the effects of rotation, phase-lags and the variability thermal conductivity parameters on the studied fields is discussed. Numerical results for the studied fields are illustrated graphically in the presence and absence of rotation.
