Opis:
W badaniach wykazano, iż kolejne zabiegi technologiczne w obróbce modeli, szpachlowanie, szlifowanie i malowanie podwyższają gładkość powierzchni. Wykazano również, iż relacja: kierunek ruchu freza/kierunek ułożenia słojów odgrywa istotną rolę w kształtowaniu końcowej jakości powierzchni modeli. Ta tendencja jest wyraźniejsza w przypadku stosowania drewna sosnowego o silniej anizotropowej budowie.
The work shows the results of a study of patterns surface roughness made of wood using CNC. The studies covered pine wood and alder wood, which constitute the principal species used in Foundry. The surface obtained after treatment is characterized by relatively large, some roughness which is linked to the rate of feed which is linked to the rate of feed. A feature of the surface after treatment is its sinuous and repeatable profile section. In studies it has been shown that the next technological treatments adapted in treatment patterns as filling, sanding and painting enhance the smoothness of the surface. It has been shown that the direction of movement relationship milling grain direction plays an important role in shaping the final surface quality patterns. This trend is more pronounced in the case of pine wood with stronger anisotropic grades.

Opis:
The article presents an analysis of changes in the outer surface of the casting made in a modified ceramic form. The introduction of the modification in the inner surface of the form, as a metallic coating was intended to produce a high quality of the casting surface. To describe the results, the three parameters have been chosen to characterize the surface roughness, i.e. Ra, Rz and Rq. In implementing the popular method of casting was used, so – called the lost polymer models. The models made from different plastic materials are chemically and electrochemically coated with a layer of nickel. The next step was to remove the model from the form and pouring the liquid metal over it. The observation of the casting surface was performed by using the scanning electron microscope and a profilometer. As a result of these attempts a number of castings have been obtained with an outside layer generated of lower roughness than the casting made in the normal gypsum form. The proposed method can be called an innovative one because it reduces the technological cycle by one processing operation of investment casting. During the process of casting both the cast and the outer layer improving the properties of the manufactured product is being produced.

Opis:
The objective of the paper is to analyze the effect of substrate roughness and superficial microcraking upon adhesion of repair systems using concrete surface engineering approach. The results presented in this paper have been obtained within the framework of research projects performed to develop a better understanding of the factors affecting the adhesion of repair materials through a surface engineering approach. Based on the results of investigations, the authors showed that the durability and quality of concrete repairs depend to a large degree on the characteristics of the substrate. Mechanical preparation and profiling of the concrete surface to be repaired has to be balanced with potential co-lateral effects such as superficial cracking, too often induced as a result of inappropriate concrete removal method selection, and the loss of benefits due to better mechanical anchorage. The results obtained confirm also that Concrete Surface Engineering, as a scientific concept, will definitely contribute to shed more light on how to optimize repair bond, taking into account interactions between the materials at different observation scales.

Opis:
In the present work, the performance of multilayer coated carbide tool was investigated considering the effect of cutting parameters during turning of 34CrMo4 Low alloy steel. It has high strength and creep strength, and good impact tenacity at low temperature. It can work at –110°C to 500°C. And EN 10083-1 34CrMo4 owns high static strength, impact tenacity, fatigue resistance, and hardenability; without overheating tendencies. The objective functions were selected in relation to the parameters of the cutting process: surface roughness criteria. The correlations between the cutting parameters and performance measures, like surface roughness, were established by multiple linear regression models. Highly significant parameters were determined by performing an Analysis of variance (ANOVA). During the experiments flank wear, cutting force and surface roughness value were measured throughout the tool life. The results have been compared with dry and wet-cooled turning. Analysis of variance factors of design and their interactions were studied for their significance. Finally, a model using multiple regression analysis between cutting speed, fee rate and depth of cut with the tool life was established.

Opis:
The presented work is aimed to deal with the influence of changes in the value of negative (relative) pressure maintained in the die cavity of pressure die casting machine on the surface quality of pressure castings. The examinations were held by means of the modified Vertacast pressure die casting machine equipped with a vacuum system. Castings were produced for the parameters selected on the basis of previous experiments, i.e. for the plunger velocity in the second stage of injection at the level of 4 m/s, the pouring temperature of the alloy equal to 640°C, and the die temperature of 150°C. The examinations were carried on for three selected values of negative gauge pressure: - 0.03, - 0.05, and - 0.07 MPa. The quality of casting was evaluated by comparing the results of the surface roughness measurements performed for randomly selected castings. The surface roughness was measured by means of Hommel Tester T1000. After a series of measurements it was found that the smoothest surface is exhibited by castings produced at negative gauge pressure value of - 0.07 MPa.
