Opis:
The problem of small-signal stability considering load uncertainty in power system is investigated. Firstly, this paper shows attempts to create a nonlinear optimization model for solving the upper and lower limits of the oscillation mode’s damping ratio under an interval load. Then, the effective successive linear programming (SLP) method is proposed to solve this problem. By using this method, the interval damping ratio and corresponding load states at its interval limits are obtained. Calculation results can be used to evaluate the influence of load variation on a certain mode and give useful information for improvement. Finally, the proposed method is validated on two test systems.

It is shown that the convex linear combination of the Hurwitz polynomials of positive linear systems is also the Hurwitz polynomial. The Kharitonov theorem is extended to the positive interval linear systems. It is also shown that the interval positive linear system described by state equation x ̇ = Ax, A ϵ ℜn×n, A1 ≥ A ≤ A2 is asymptotically stable if and only if the matrices Ak = 1, 2 are Hurwitz Metzler matrices.

Opis:
The paper considers the robust stability problem of uncertain continuous-time fractional order linear systems with pure delay in the following two cases: a) the state matrix is a linear convex combination of two known constant matrices, b) the state matrix is an interval matrix. It is shown that the system is robustly stable if and only if all the eigenvalues of the state matrix multiplied by delay in power equal to fractional order are located in the open stability region in the complex plane. Parametric description of boundary of this region is derived. In the case a) the necessary and sufficient computational condition for robust stability is established. This condition is given in terms of eigenvalue-loci of the state matrix, fractional order and time delay. In the case b) the method for determining the rectangle with sides parallel to the axes of the complex plane in which all the eigenvalues of interval matrix are located is given and the sufficient condition for robust stability is proposed. This condition is satisfied if the rectangle multiplied by delay in power equal to fractional order lie in the stability region. The considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

Opis:
The linear parameter-varying (LPV) discrete-time model based design of a fuzzy scheduling control scheme is developed through incorporating the advantages of P1-TS theory, and applying the local pole placement method and interval analysis of closed-loop system polynomial coefficients. The synthesis of fuzzy scheduling control scheme is proposed in the form of iterative procedure, which enables to find the appropriate number of intervals of a fuzzy interpolator ensuring that a family of local linear controllers places closed-loop polynomial coefficients within a desired range. The computational complexity of multidimensional fuzzy scheduling control scheme synthesis is reduced using a fundamental matrix method and recursive procedure for fuzzy rule-based interpretation. The usability of the proposed method is illustrated by an implementation example and experimental results obtained on a laboratory scaled overhead crane.

Opis:
We presents the design and test results of a picosecond-precision time interval measurement module, integrated as a System-on-Chip in an FPGA device. Implementing a complete measurement instrument of a high precision in one chip with the processing unit gives an opportunity to cut down the size of the final product and to lower its cost. Such approach challenges the constructor with several design issues, like reduction of voltage noise, propagating through power lines common for the instrument and processing unit, or establishing buses efficient enough to transport mass measurement data. The general concept of the system, design hierarchy, detailed hardware and software solutions are presented in this article. Also, system test results are depicted with comparison to traditional ways of building a measurement instrument.

Opis:
The article considers the problem of stability of interval-defined linear systems based on the Hurwitz and LienardShipar interval criteria. Krylov, Leverier, and Leverier-Danilevsky algorithms are implemented for automated construction and analysis of the interval characteristic polynomial. The interval mathematics library was used while developing the software. The stability of the dynamic system described by linear ordinary differential equations is determined and based on the properties of the eigenvalues of the interval characteristic polynomial. On the basis of numerical calculations, the authors compare several methods of constructing the characteristic polynomial. The developed software that implements the introduced interval arithmetic operations can be used in the study of dynamic properties of automatic control systems, energy, economic and other non-linear systems.

The duration of electrocardiographic (ECG) parameters: PQ, QT and R-R intervals change during long-term and short-term observation as the consequence of the fluctuations in autonomic nervous system activity among others dependent on the exercise and resting. There is no data of horse breed influence on these parameters. The aim of the study was to assess the duration and the variability of the PQ, QT and R-R intervals in the resting conditions and after exercise testing in Anglo-Arabian horses. Material and Methods: 27 healthy Anglo-Arabian horses aged 3.4 ± 1.0 years (15 male, 12 female) had ECG examination in the standing position using Einthoven system of leads. The longest and the shortest PQ, QT and R-R intervals were measured after night rest and after exercise testing and the means were calculated. Conclusions: 1) In Anglo-Arabian horses the difference between the longest and the shortest PQ interval at rest vs. after exercise is 0.06 ± 0.05 vs. 0.03 ± 0.02, QT interval is 0.04 ± 0.03 vs. 0.04 ± 0.04, R-R interval 0.19 ± 0.15 vs. 0.08 ± 0.11. 2) The PQ and R-R intervals reveal high short-term variability either at the resting conditions or after exercise testing. 3) After exercise testing PQ, QT and R-R intervals are shorter than at the resting conditions. The delta PQ and R-R are 2 times smaller in contrast to delta QT which is constant. 4) The PQ and R-R interval variability was greater at the baseline condition than after exercise testing. The QT variability was similar at baseline condition to that after exercise testing.

Opis:
An embedded time interval data acquisition system (DAS) is developed for zero power reactor (ZPR) noise experiments. The system is capable of measuring the correlation or probability distribution of a random process. The design is totally implemented on a single Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The architecture is tested on different FPGA platforms with different speed grades and hardware resources. Generic experimental values for time resolution and inter-event dead time of the system are 2.22 ns and 6.67 ns respectively. The DAS can record around 48-bit x 790 kS/s utilizing its built-in fast memory. The system can measure very long time intervals due to its 48-bit timing structure design. As the architecture can work on a typical FPGA, this is a low cost experimental tool and needs little time to be established. In addition, revisions are easily possible through its reprogramming capability. The performance of the system is checked and verified experimentally.

Opis:
This paper presents research on applications of fuzzy logic and higher-order fuzzy logic systems to control filters reducing air pollution [1]. The filters use Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) method and, as for now, this process is controlled manually by a human expert. The goal of the research is to control an SCR system responsible for emission of nitrogen oxide (NO) and nitrogen dioxide (NO2) to the air, using SCR with ammonia (NH3). There are two higher-order fuzzy logic systems presented, applying interval-valued fuzzy sets and type-2 fuzzy sets, respectively. Fuzzy sets and higher order fuzzy sets describe linguistically levels of nitrogen oxides as the input, and settings of ammonia valve in the air filter as the output. The obtained results are consistent with data provided by experts. Besides, we show that the type-2 fuzzy logic controllers allows us to obtain results much closer to desired parameters of the ammonia valve, than traditional FLS.
