    Opis:
    Contemporary geodesy is of global dimension. The reference frame is defined as the geocentric system with parameters related to the entire Earth body, e.g. the axis of rotation, and global geoid. The unified time scale is determined for the whole Earth territory as well. International services using different satellite techniques are engaged in the determination of this frame. Particularly important is the Global Positioning System GPS, which is the most important geodetic tool nowadays. In Poland a number of geodetic observatories are working in the frame of the international networks, Polish scientific groups contribute to the advancement of science in this domain. For the practical applications we are using the local networks that again are constructed with satellite techniques. In Europe the regional network EUREF exists while its part EUREF-POL and densification POLREF are in Poland. The modern network ASG-EUPOS is under construction. The GPS technique is used for surveying and navigation and for the positioning in motion, which is in-between the preceding traditional methods. Differential augmentation methods are designed to improve GPS signals such as DGPS and EGNOS. The new European satellite navigation system Galileo is in development. Poland is a member and coowner of this system. A number of Polish research institutions are working on new methods of the practical application of GNSS.

    Opis:
    In this paper idea of passive radar system based on popular wireless networks commonly named WIFI is presented. In such an networks many transmitters operates in the same channel using multiple access. Wireless networks operating on frequencies 2.4GHz and 5GHz are very common today (IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n). Classic passive radar determines bistatic distance and velocity by using cross-ambiguity function. To seek target position in XYZ space at least illumination of 3 different transmitters is required. In that paper it was assumed, that all transmitters operate on the same band frequency and the passive radar receiver has to couple each transmission burst with transmitter position by decoding the physical address of transmitter from captured data stream. Having most of the signal sources in our passive radar environment it is possible to detect and to localize objects of interest.

    Opis:
    Research activities of Polish research groups in a period of 2015–2019 on reference frames and reference networks are reviewed and summarised in this paper. The summary contains the results concerning the implementation of latest resolutions on reference systems of the International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics and the International Union of Astronomy with special emphasis on the changes in the Astronomical Almanac of the Institute of Geodesy and Cartography, Warsaw. It further presents the status of the implementation of the European Terrestrial Reference System 1989 (ETRS89) in Poland, monitoring the terrestrial reference frame, operational work of GNSS permanent IGS/EPN stations in Poland, operational work of the laser ranging station in Poland of the International Laser Ranging Service (ILRS), active GNSS station network for the realization of ETRS89 in Poland, validation of recent ETRS89 realization, expressed in ETRF2000 in Poland, and maintenance of the vertical control in Poland (PL-KRON86-NH). Extensive research activities are observed in the field of maintenance and modernization of gravity control not only in Poland, but also in Sweden and in Denmark, as well as establishment of gravity control in Ireland based on absolute gravity survey. The magnetic control in Poland was also regularly maintained. The bibliography of the related works is given in references.

    Argumentacja niemonotoniczna ma być blisko rozumowań praktycznych i zdroworozsądkowych: wykonawcy czynności (agenci) opracowują plany działań i starają się plany te wykonać; często jednak są pozbawieni pełnego opisu sytuacji, ich wiedza jest cząstkowa, czynią założenia i podejmują decyzje oraz działania, w tym działania słowne, polegając na własnym doświadczeniu i nawykach. Powstające formalne struktury obejmują tzw. cyrkumskrypcje (circumscriptions), logikę domyśleń (default logic), logikę autoepistemiczną (autoepistemic logic), konsekwencje kumulatywne (cumulative consequences) i szereg innych. Można wyodrębnić dwa główne typy systemów rozumowań niemonotonicznych: systemy defi niowalne poprzez modele kumulatywne lub preferencyjne oraz logiki domyśleń. W artykule szkicujemy inne ujęcie zagadnienia, w którym centralną rolę gra pojęcie reguły działania (rule of conduct); inaczej: reguły pragmatycznej. Zgodnie z nim, argumentacja niemonotoniczna jest wsparta na konsekwencjach przyjętych reguł działania. Stan rzeczy jest wyprowadzony ze skończonego zbioru przesłanek, gdy czynności obejmowane daną regułą działania prowadzą do stanu rzeczy będącego wnioskiem reguły. (Przesłankę identyfi kuje się tu ze zbiorem stanów rzeczy.) W odróżnieniu od reguł logiki (tj. reguł inferencji) reguły działania nie są dane raz na zawsze; mogą być modyfi kowane, niekiedy są zawodne, a nawet mogą być odrzucane i zastępowane nowymi. Artykuł zawiera rozszerzone i rozbudowane oryginalne wątki naszkicowane w monografi i Czelakowskiego (2015). Celem artykułu jest przybliżenie ich polskiemu czytelnikowi.
    The approach to non-monotonic reasonings based on rules of conduct is presented. Each rule of conduct is a systems of actions the agents are obeyed to in the circumstances pertaining to the rule. Rules of conducts are not given for ever; they may be modifi ed or even rejected and replaced by new ones. According to this approach, non-monotonic arguments are those which do not violate the actions involve in these rules. A conclusion is reached from a fi nite set of premises, each premiss identifi es with a set of states, if the actions involved in a rule of conduct yield a set of affairs being the conclusion of the rule. The article contains original extended versions of remarks outlined in Czelakowski (2015).

    Konsensualny sado/masochizm pozostaje pośród najbardziej potępianych praktyk seksualnych podejmowanych dobrowolnie przez osoby dorosłe. Główna kontrowersja dotyczy interpretacji podejmowanej przemocy. Nauki społeczne podjęły alternatywną i krytyczną wobec tradycji klinicznej refleksję nad sadyzmem i masochizmem. Zachodzące w przestrzeni społecznej procesy ujmowania w ramy i przekształcenia interpretacyjne mogą być opisane z pomocą analizy ramowej Ervinga Goffmana. W szerszym planie ta krańcowa i wyrazista sytuacja ukazuję rolę, jaką w pracy instytucji normalizacyjnych, prawnych, medycznych może odgrywać zewnętrzna interpretacja zdarzeń dokonywana przez ich przedstawicieli, odmienna od interpretacji podejmujących te praktyki społeczne. Fakt ten musi jednak pozostać nieuświadomionym, by instytucje te mogły operatywnie działać.
    Sadomasochism still is one of the most intensively criminalized sexual practices undertaken by consenting adults. The main controversy regards the interpretation of the violence acts involved. Social sciences have undertaken an alternative reflection on sadism and masochism, critical towards the clinical tradition. The interpretation processes, and framing of activities may be described using Erving Goffman's frame analysis. In the broader perspective this extreme and striking situation demonstrates the role played in the normalizing social control institutions such as justice administration or medical bodies by the external interpretative procedures carried out by their representatives, as differing from the interpretations of the persons conducting this sort of social practices. However, this influence needs to stay unconscious in order for these institutions to operate in an efficient manner.
