Opis:
The article presents the results of simulation studies aimed at verifying the usefulness of the concept of calculating kinematic straightness errors from angular errors. Based on the calculations of a flexible machine tool, no relationship was found between the two types of errors. This clearly shows that straightness errors and angular errors of machine tools should be treated as independent of each other.
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań symulacyjnych, celem zweryfikowania przydatności opracowanej koncepcji przeliczania charakterystyk błędów kinematycznych prostoliniowości na podstawie charakterystyki błędów kątowych. Analiza wyników obliczeń odkształcalnego stołu obrabiarki nie potwierdziła ścisłej zależności pomiędzy tymi błędami. Jest to podstawą do stwierdzenia konieczności traktowania błędów prostoliniowości i błędów kątowych obrabiarek jako niezależnych.

Opis:
A novel algorithm is presented to deduce individual nodal forwarding behavior from standard end-to-end acknowledgments. The algorithm is based on a well-established mathematical method and is robust to network related errors and nodal behavior changes. The proposed solution was verified in a network simulation, during which it achieved sound results in a challenging multihop ad-hoc network environment.

Effectiveness of operation of a weapon stabilization system is largely dependent on the choice of a sensor, i.e. an accelerometer. The paper identifies and examines fundamental errors of piezoelectric accelerometers and offers measures for their reduction. Errors of a weapon stabilizer piezoelectric sensor have been calculated. The instrumental measurement error does not exceed 0.1 × 10−5 m/s2. The errors caused by the method of attachment to the base, different noise sources and zero point drift can be mitigated by the design features of piezoelectric sensors used in weapon stabilizers.

Recently, the expand of industrial market has led to have long supply chain network. During the long shipment, the probability of having damaged products is likely to occur. The probability of having damaged products is different between stages and that could lead to higher percentage of damaged products when arrived at retailers. Many companies have rejected the entire shipment because the damaged product percentage was higher than that agreed on. Decision-makers have tried to reduce the percentage of damaged products that happened because the transit, loading unloading the shipment, and natural disasters. Companies started to implement recovery centers in the supply chain network in order to return their system steady statues. Recovery models have been developed in this paper to reduce the damaged percentage at minimum costs to do so. Results show that the possibility of implementing an inspection unit and a recovery centers in the system before sending the entire shipment to the retailer based on examining a sample size that has been selected randomly from the shipment and the minimum cost of committing type I and type II errors. Designing a methodology to minimize the total cost associated with the supply chain system when there is a possibility of damage occurring during shipping is the objective of this research.

Time domain analysis is used to determine whether A/D converters that employ higher order sigma-delta modulators, widely used in digital acoustic systems, have superior performance over classical synchronous A/D converters with modulators of first order when taking into account their important metrological property which is the magnitude of the quantization error. It is shown that the quantization errors of delta-sigma A/D converters with higher order modulators are exactly on the same level as for converters with a first order modulator.

The paper presents an interpretation of fractional calculus for positive and negative orders of functions based on sampled measured quantities and their errors connected with digital signal processing. The derivatives as a function limit and the Grunwald-Letnikov differintegral are shown in chapter 1 due to the similarity of the presented definition. Notation of fractional calculus based on the gradient vector of measured quantities and its geometrical and physical interpretation of positive and negative orders are shown in chapter 2 and 3.

The influence of an insufficient stiffness of inertial vibrators mounting to a vibratory machine body on phase angles of unbalanced masses and on a machine motion was analysed in the paper. The mathematical model of the effect was developed and the analytical dependencies determining the influence of the mounting elasticity on the synchronisation and machine movement - useful in engineering practice - were obtained.
W pracy poddano analizie wpływ nie w pełni sztywnego zamocowania wibratorów inercyjnych do korpusu maszyn wibracyjnych na kąty fazowe mas niewyważonych i ruch maszyny. Zbudowano model matematyczny zjawiska i uzyskano zależności analityczne określające wpływ podatności zamocowania na przebieg synchronizacji i ruch maszyny, przydatne w praktyce inżynierskiej.

The accuracy of vehicle speed measured by a speedometer is analysed. The stress on the application of skew normal distribution is laid. The accuracy of measured vehicle speed depends on many error sources: construction of speedometer, measurement method, model inadequacy to real physical process, transferring information signal, external conditions, production process technology etc. The errors of speedometer are analysed in a complex relation to errors of the speed control gauges, whose functionality is based on the Doppler effect. Parameters of the normal distribution and skew normal distribution were applied in the errors analysis. It is shown that the application of maximum permissible errors to control the measuring results of vehicle speed gives paradoxical results when, in the case of skew normal distribution, the standard deviations of higher vehicle speeds are smaller than the standard deviations of lower speeds. In the case of normal distribution a higher speed has a greater standard deviation. For the speed measurements by Doppler speed gauges it is suggested to calculate the vehicle weighted average speed instead of the arithmetic average speed, what will correspond to most real dynamic changes of the vehicle speed parameters.

This article considers selected operational characteristics and measurement errors of the 2D laser scanner URG-04LX, which is a compact sensor suitable for walking robots. Quantitative errors in range measurement are evaluated considering the intensity output available from the sensor. The obtained intensity values help to correct the range measurements with regard to the optical characteristics of the observed surfaces. Moreover, mixed measurements are characterized and compared to the mixed measurements characteristics in the popular Sick LMS 200 laser scanner. Finally, it is shown how taking into account the error characteristics of the URG-04LX scanner improves its performance as the main exteroceptive sensor of a small walking robot.

One of the ways to improve calculations related to determining the position of a node in the IoT measurement system is to use artificial neural networks (ANN) to calculate coordinates. The method described in the article is based on the measurement of the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator), which value is then processed by the neural network. Hence, the proposed system works in two stages. In the first stage, RSSI coefficient samples are taken, and then the node location is determined on an ongoing basis. Coordinates anchor nodes (i.e. sensors with fixed and previously known positions) and the matrix of RSSI coefficients are used in the learning process of the neural network. Then the RSSI matrix determined for the system in which the nodes with unknown positions are located is fed into the neural network inputs. The result of the work is a system and algorithm that allows determining the location of the object without processing data separately in nodes with low computational performance.

A new generalized discrete Fourier transform DFT that allows for sample shift δ 2 [0, T/N] in time-domain is defined. Two relations are proved for the sum of errors between generalized DFT coefficients and theirs theoretical values. The first is the equation for samples received for continuous and piecewise–smooth functions. The second relation is the inequality for samples generated by discontinuous functions. Moreover, the influence of samples shift on generalized DFT coefficients values, which leads to aliasing phenomenon, is presented.

In this paper both envelope approach and morphological filters for characterisation of surface textures were proposed, applied and thoroughly examined. Obtained results were compared with those received after appliance of commonly-used algorithms. The effect of appliance of proposed procedures on surface topography parameters (from ISO 25178 standard) was taken into consideration. The following types of surface textures were assessed: two-process plateau-honed cylinder liners, plateau-honed cylinder liners with additionally burnished dimples, turned piston skirts, grinded and/or isotropic topographies. It was assumed that envelope characteristics (envelope filtration) can provide results useful for assessments of deep and/or wide oil-reservoirs especially when they are edge located. Moreover, some near-valley areas of surface texture details can be less distorted when envelope filtering is accomplished. It was also found that closing and/or opening envelope filtration can be valuable for reduction of some surface topography measurement errors.

The determination of precise emitter location is a very important task in electronic intelligence systems. Its basic requirements include the detection of the emission of electromagnetic sources (emitters), measurement of signal parameters, determining the direction of emitters, signal analysis, and the recognition and identification of their sources. The article presents a new approach and algorithm for calculating the location of electromagnetic emission sources (radars) in a plane based on the bearings in the radio-electronic reconnaissance system. The main assumptions of this method are presented and described i.e. how the final mathematical formulas for calculating the emitter location were determined for any number of direction finders (DFs). As there is an unknown distance from the emitter to the DFs then in the final formulas it is stated how this distance should be calculated in the first iteration. Numerical simulation in MATLAB showed a quick convergence of the proposed algorithm to the fixed value in the fourth/fifth iteration with an accuracy less than 0.1 meter. The computed emitter location converges to the fixed value regardless of the choice of the starting point. It has also been shown that to precisely calculate the emitter position, at least a dozen or so bearings from each DFs should be measured. The obtained simulation results show that the precise emitter location depends on the number of DFs, the distances between the localized emitter and DFs, their mutual deployment, and bearing errors. The research results presented in the article show the usefulness of the tested method for the location of objects in a specific area of interest. The results of simulation calculations can be directly used in radio-electronic reconnaissance systems to select the place of DFs deployment to reduce the emitter location errors in the entire reconnaissance area.
