    This paper presents numerical analyses and a physical experiment on efficiency of different shapes and material composition of piezo actuators on vibration reduction. For this purpose numerical models of a plate clamped on all sides with piezo actuators attached were developed. The elements used were either standard homogeneous elements or the proposed two-part elements with different material composition for inner and outer part of piezo ceramic. Numerical analyses were performed using ANSYS software.

    The paper presents general solutions for fractional state-space equations. The analysis of the fractional electrical circuit in the transient state is described by the equation of the state and space equations. The results are presented for the voltage of a capacitor and current in a coil, for different alpha values. The Caputo and conformable fractional derivative definitions have been considered. At the end, the results have been obtained.

    Opis:
    Factional Discrete-time linear systems with fractional different orders are addressed. The Weierstrass-Kronecker decomposition theorem of the regular pencil is extended to the descriptor fractional discrete-time linear system with different fractional orders. Using the extension, method for finding the solution of the state equation is derived. Effectiveness of the method is demonstrated on a numerical example.

    W prezentowanym artykule autor zastanawia się, czym jest wrogość jako taka, przyjmując, iż ludzie z natury są wobec siebie raczej przychylni, pozbawieni negatywnych odczuć. Nie chodzi o dokładne opisanie kategorii „obcego”, ale ważniejszy jest sam proces, który sprawia, że ktoś zostaje w ten sposób określony. Wrogość jest czymś wtórnym, pochodnym, zatem tym, co przeinacza, przekłamuje prawdę o człowieku. Nie sposób jednak powiedzieć, co tak naprawdę skłania człowieka do tego, by wyzwoliła się w nim postawa wrogości. Jak rozgrywa się ten skomplikowany, jak można mniemać, akt przejścia od traktowania kogoś jako „innego” do myślenia o nim w kategorii „obcego”? Autor próbuje wskazać kilka istotnych wątków, by dojść do konkluzji, iż proces „tworzenia obcego”, choć sam w sobie nienaturalny, stanowi nieodłączny element świata, w jakim żyjemy. Konkluzja ta ma zawsze tragiczny wymiar.
    This paper contemplates the concept of hostility working on the assumption that people are by nature friendly and deprived of negative feelings. What it takes to fit the category of ‘stranger’ is secondary to how one becomes one in the in the eyes of other people. It is the process that matters. Hostility is a derivative and a by-product, it twists and distorts the truth about man. It is difficult to pin down what produces or provokes a hostile attitude in people. How does this complex transition from being seen as ‘different’ in the eyes of the beholders to being categorised as the ‘stranger’ play out? The author seeks to draw the reader’s attention to several apparently important themes, only to conclude that the „making of the stranger”, unnatural as it might seem, is inherent to our world. This conclusion is always tragic.

    Positive descriptor fractional discrete-time linear systems with fractional different orders are addressed in the paper. The decomposition of the regular pencil is used to extend necessary and sufficient conditions for positivity of the descriptor fractional discrete-time linear system with different fractional orders. A method for finding the decentralized controller for the class of positive systems is proposed and its effectiveness is demonstrated on a numerical example.

    The paper is dedicated to immigration and transnational families in Spain. The author presents legislative aspects, discusses social phenomena and analyzes crucial INE data which hinge on the intersection of immigration and family issues. The data include: 1/the number of marriages which are referred to as matrimonios mixtos, i.e. the ones which are contracted between a Spaniard and the other spouse being a foreigner, 2/the number of marriages contracted in Spain between foreigners and 3/their share in the total number of nuptials. Legislative aspects relate to the formal conditions which need to be fulfilled by foreigners in order to enter into wedlock and the requirements concerning documentation on the part of a Spanish citizen and a foreigner. What is important, the Spanish law allows a marriage to be contracted between a Spanish citizen and a foreigner regardless of the status of the latter. That is to say, the future spouse may be in a so-called irregular situation which grants the right for undocumented immigrants to get married in Spain and eventually obtain a residence permit.

    Opis:
    Both epidermal growth factor (EGF) and transforming growth factor (TGF) play an important physiological role in the processes of proliferation and differentiation of several different cell types. However, the expression profiles of these factors in domestic bitches endometrium are still poorly recognized. The aim of the present study was to identify and analyze the differential expression of these factors in various stages of the estrus cycle. Endometrial tissue from proestrus (n=17), estrus (n=10), day 10 diestrus (n=15), day 35 diestrus (n=18) and anestrus (n=25) was collected soon after ovariohysterectomy. Total RNA was isolated from the endometrium by means of Chomczyński and Sacchi method, treated by DNase I, and reverse- transcribed into cDNA. Quantitative analysis of EGF, TGFβ1, TGFβ2, and TGFβ3 cDNA was performed by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). EGF expression in canine endometrium was increased in the estrus stage as compared to proestrus (P<0.05), day 10 diestrus (P<0.05), day 35 diestrus (P<0.01) and anestrus (P<0.001). We also found the differences in EGF expression between day 10 and day 35 of estrus as well as between day 35 of estrus with anestrus (P<0.05, P<0.01, respectively). The TGFf1 transcript contents were also higher in estrus as compared to other stages (P<0.01). The TGFβ2 and TGFβ3 in the estrus stage was increased compared to proestrus, day 10 diestrus, day 35 diestrus and anestrus (P<0.05). We proved that expression of EGF and TGFβ transcript isoforms is related to the phase of estrus in bitches and therefore may be regulated by specific hormone concentrations during these periods. Our results confirm the hypothesis that these growth factors play a role in the regulation of biochemical changes in the endometrial tissues during the estrus cycle.

    A study was carried out over a two year period (2009/2010 and 2012/2013) on an experimental farm in the Alentejo region (Beja), in southern Portugal where rainfed malt barley (Hordeum distichum L.) is sown at the end of autumn or beginning of winter (November– December). The aim of this experiment was to study the efficiency of the herbicide iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium to control post-emergence broadleaved weeds in this cereal crop. The malt barley crop was established using no-till farming. This technology provides the necessary machine bearing capacity of the soil to assure the post-emergence application of herbicides at two different weed development stages. The herbicide iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium was applied at three doses (5.0, 7.5, and 10.0 g a. i. · ha–1) and at two different broadleaved weed development stages (3 to 4 and 6 to 7 pairs of leaves), that also corresponded to two different crop development stages (beginning of tillering and complete tillering). The results indicated that early herbicide application timing provided a significantly higher efficiency for all the applied herbicide doses, but this better weed control was not reflected in a higher crop grain yield. The lack of a higher crop grain yield was probably due to a crop phytotoxicity of the herbicide, when used at an early application timing.

    In the years 1992-1994, studies were carried out on the occurrence, harmfulness and chemical control of the broad bean weevil on broad bean crops at different dates. A maximum of the beetle occurrence on the plantation under study was noted in III decade of June and in I decade of July. Seed damages caused by this pest ranged from 31.3 to 45.7%. The best time for the broad bean weevil control on broad bean was in the stage of pod formation. The application of the insecticide Karate 025 EC at the rate of 0.3 dm³/ha caused limitation of seed damages, on the average, by 19. 7%, which gave a mean yield gain of 0.3 4 t/ha.
    W latach 1992-1994 wykonano badania nad występowaniem, szkodliwością i chemicznym zwalczaniem strąkowca bobowego w uprawie bobiku w różnych terminach. Maksimum występowania chrząszczy na plantacji odnotowano w III dekadzie czerwca i I dekadzie lipca, a największą liczbę jaj stwierdzono w II i III dekadzie lipca. Strąkowiec bobowy uszkadzał nasiona bobiku w granicach od 31,3% do 45,7%. Najlepszym terminem jego zwalczania jest faza formowania strąków na bobiku. Zastosowanie insektycydu Karate 025 EC w dawce 0,3 dm³ na hektar spowodowało ograniczenie uszkodzeń nasion bobiku średnio o 19,7%, co dało przyrost plonu nasion średnio o 0,34 t z hektara.
