The problem of mathematical modelling and indication of properties of a DIP has been investigated in this paper. The aim of this work is to aggregate the knowledge on a DIP modelling using the Euler-Lagrange formalism in the presence of external forces and friction. To indicate the main properties important for simulation, model parameters identification and control system synthesis, analytical and numerical tools have been used. The investigated properties include stability of equilibrium points, a chaos of dynamics and non-minimum phase behaviour around an upper position. The presented results refer to the model of a physical (constructed) DIP system.

The paper discuss a problem of determination of inductances for AC machine windings when saturation of magnetic circuit is not neglected. For such cases, computation of magnetic field distribution in the machine magnetic circuit is a starting point for post processing procedures leading to various values, among others the co-energy in a given area and linkage fluxes of windings. This paper shows how to determine winding inductances in a nonlinear magnetic circuit from these two values and also how to compute directly nonlinear inductances. Problem is not trivial because such inductances are not uniquely determined as for linear case. In the paper a definition of nonlinear inductances is proposed which makes the choice unique.

Algorithms of queue management in IP routers determine which packet should be deleted when necessary. The article investigates the influence of the self-similarity on the optimal packet rejection probability function in a special case of NLRED queues. This paper describes another approach to the non-linear packet dropping function. We propose to use the solutions based on the polynomials with degree equals to 3. The process of obtaining the optimal dropping packets function has been presented. Our researches were carried out using the Discrete Event Simulator OMNET++. The AQM model was early verified using the discrete-time Markov chain. The obtained results show that the traffic characteristic has the great impact on the network node behavior, but self-similarity of network traffic has no influence on the choosing of the optimal dropping packet function.

One advantage of multi-phase machines is the possibility to use the third harmonic of the rotor flux for additional torque generation. This effect can be maximised for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machines (PMSM) with a high third harmonic content in the magnet flux. This paper discusses the effects of third harmonic current injection (THCI) on a five-phase PMSM with a conventional magnet shape depending on saturation. The effects of THCI in five-phase machines are shown in a 2D FEM model in Ansys Maxwell verified by measurement results. The results of the FEM model are analytically analysed using the Park model. It is shown in simulation and measurement that the torque improvement by THCI increases significantly with the saturation level, as the amplitude of the third harmonic flux linkage increases with the saturation level but the phase shift of the rotor flux linkage has to be considered. This paper gives a detailed analysis of saturation mechanisms of PMSM, which can be used for optimizing the efficiency in operating points of high saturations, without using special magnet shapes.

Opis:
This paper presents a new modified method for the synthesis of non-uniform linear antenna arrays. Based on the recently developed invasive weeds optimization technique (IWO), the modified invasive weeds optimization method (MIWO) uses the mutation process for the calculation of standard deviation (SD). Since the good choice of SD is particularly important in such algorithm, MIWO uses new values of this parameter to optimize the spacing between the array elements, which can improve the overall efficiency of the classical IWO method in terms of side lobe level (SLL) suppression and nulls control. Numerical examples are presented and compared to the existing array designs found in the literature, such as ant colony optimization (ACO), particle swarm optimization (PSO), and comprehensive learning PSO (CLPSO). Results show that MIWO method can be a good alternative in the design of non-uniform linear antenna array.

Despite many years of development in the field of rotor dynamics, many issues still need to be resolved. This is due to the fact that turbomachines, even those with low output power, have a very complex design. The author of this article would like to signal these issues in the form of several questions, to which there are no precise answers. The questions are as follows: How can we build a coherent dynamic model of a turbomachine whose some subsystems have non-linear characteristics? How can we consider the so-called prehistory in our analysis, namely, the relation between future dynamic states and previous ones? Is heuristic modelling the future of rotor dynamics? What phenomena may occur when the stability limit of the system is exceeded? The attempt to find answers to these questions constitutes the subject of this article. There are obviously more similar questions, which encourage researchers from all over the world to further their research.

A navigation complex of an unmanned flight vehicle of small class is considered. Increasing the accuracy of navigation definitions is done with the help of a nonlinear Kalman filter in the implementation of the algorithm on board an aircraft in the face of severe limitations on the performance of the special calculator. The accuracy of the assessment depends on the available reliable information on the model of the process under study, which has a high degree of uncertainty. To carry out high-precision correction of the navigation complex, an adaptive non-linear Kalman filter with parametric identification was developed. The model of errors of the inertial navigation system is considered in the navigation complex, which is used in the algorithmic support. The procedure for identifying the parameters of a non-linear model represented by the SDC method in a scalar form is used. The developed adaptive non-linear Kalman filter is compact and easy to implement on board an aircraft.

The Rosseland approximation is used to model the non-linear thermal radiation and incorporated non-uniform heat source/sink effect. The governing equations reduced to a set of nonlinear ordinary differential equations under considering the suitable similarity transformations. The obtained ordinary differential equations equations are solved numerically by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg order method. The effect of important parameters on velocity, temperature and concentration distributions are analyzed and discussed through the graphs. It reveals that temperature increases with the increase of radiation and heat source/sink parameter.

Catalytic reforming is an important intermediate in the processing of crude (naphtha in particular) to obtain gasoline. The catalyst used in the process (platinum) is quite expensive and may negatively impact the business if not used judiciously. The aforesaid not only refers to the reduction in loss of the catalyst per unit of gasoline produced but also to the manufacturing of an environmentally friendlier product alongside which is the need of the planet and also a necessity to meet the increasingly strict government norms. In order to meet the above requirements, various refineries around the world use various well-known conventional methods which depend on the quality and quantity of crude manufactured by them. This paper focuses on highlighting recent advancements in methods of catalytic regeneration (CR) in the reforming unit of petroleum industries to produce high octane gasoline, without any major replacements in their existing setup. Research papers formulated by the application of methodologies involving non-linear models and real-time refinery data have only been considered to avoid any deviations/errors in practical applications. In-depth analysis of these papers has led to the origin of some ideas which have been included as suggestions and can be considered as subjects of further research. In all, the objective of the paper is to serve as a reference for researchers and engineers working on devising optimum methods to improve the regeneration of reforming catalysts.

Opis:
This article discusses the rheological tests and analyses based on the Schapery non-linear viscoelasticity model that were performed to study asphalt mastic behaviour under high shear stresses. Seven mineral filler types were applied in this study, including a mixed filler with hydrated lime and fillers derived from dust extraction systems. Determination of basic properties of the fillers was followed by creep and recovery tests (DSR) at different levels of shear stress conducted in accordance with a modified MSCR procedure. The first stage in the analysis was the identification of linear viscoelastic region and the non-linear viscoelasticity model parameters such as the length of the loading period, the temperature and the stress level using TTSSP (Time-Temperature- Stress Superposition Principle). Subsequent numerical simulations of strain variation with respect to stress confirmed a high degree of agreement between the non-linear viscoelasticity model and mastic sample behaviour. A strong correlation was found between the non-linear viscoelasticity parameters and mastic properties. The proposed methodology is able to quickly identify and eliminate the fillers that may contribute to HMA deformations.
W artykule przedstawiono badania i analizy efektów reologicznych mastyksu asfaltowego poddanego wysokim naprężeniem ścinającym wykorzystując model nieliniowej lepkosprężystości Schapery’ego. Docelowy materiał użyty w pracy, czyli mastyks jest efektywnym spoiwem mieszanki mineralno-asfaltowej (mma) będący produktem mieszania asfaltu i wypełniacza (<0,063 mm) zapewniającego właściwą kohezję pomiędzy składnikami zasadniczego szkieletu mineralnego. Relacja pomiędzy proporcjami składników (asfalt-wypełniacz) zdecydowanie wpływa a sztywność mma. Dlatego też do oceny zjawiska pełzania i powrotu sprężystego wykorzystano badania monotoniczne w próbie pełzania z odciążeniem (powrót sprężysty) z zastosowaniem zmodyfikowanej procedury MMSCR. Ponadto uwzględniono trzy poziomy naprężenia ścinającego 100Pa, 3200Pa oraz 6400Pa aby wykorzystać najbardziej zaawansowaną zasadę superpozycji TTSSP (time temperature stress superposition principle).
