Opis:: In these considerations, I undertake a polemic with thinking based on the assumption that the value of scientific achievements can be measured with almost mathematical accuracy and give fully reliable point indicators for them. It is not only part of those who introduce the current reform of higher education and science in Poland, but also experts who support them, as well as some representatives of science and natural sciences. This thinking was called point syndrome and expert syndrome. Although it was diagnosed as a manifestation of academic disease a few years ago, it still not only finds its supporters, but also translates into activities, which in some scholars cause astonishment, in others indignation, and still strong opposition in others.

The total number of studies focused on that period amounts to 2195 items, among them 243 books, 1375 articles from periodicals, 411 theses (from books), 141 sections of monographs and 24 booklets

Opis:: A review is presented of the history of ‘impact factor’ since its introduction in 1955 by Eugene Garfield for assessing scientific periodicals to its present degeneration in the hands of science administrators who enforce its use to classify scientists. Arguments are presented against that procedure. Recently there has been an increase of resistance among scientists and the editors of periodicals who call for replacing bibliometric parameters by peer review assessment of publications.

Opis:: This is a survey of post-war critical studies of Polish press published abroad in 1918-1939. The article presents the results of a bibliometric analysis of publications dated 1945-2009. The theme that attracted most attention was the Polish press in Germany (40% of publications and 57% of references). It was followed by the Polish press in the Free City of Gdańsk (11% and 10% respectively), the United States (11% and 7%), France (6% and 5%), the USSR (4% and 6%) and Czechoslovakia (5% and 4%); other countries between them account for 22% of publications and 12% of reference

The paper is a contribution to analysis and visualization of basic information on articles, which were published in 1965–2016 in the journal “Zagadnienia Naukoznawstwa / Problems of Science of Science Quarterly”. The analysis concerns selected articles, which are indexed in Google Scholar. It contains 638 papers and 418 authors.
