The present study thoroughly evaluated the eff ect of hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin (HP-β-CD) on eluting of Aroclor1242 (one kind of PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls)) from contaminated soil. The factors that might aff ect eluting effi ciency including HP-β-CD concentration, contact time, eluting cycles, temperature, pH, salt content, humic acid, and ultrasonic were all tested to evaluate the PCBs eluting effi ciency by HP-β-CD. Results indicated that Aroclor1242 can be eluted eff ectively from soil by HP-β-CD solution, 81% of Aroclor1242 was eluted from soil by 50 g/L of HP-β-CD solution after three cycles eluting, and the eluting effi ciency was improved by increasing temperature and with ultrasonic. Furthermore, it was shown that the humic acid and extreme acidic/alkaline condition both decreased the eluting effi ciency. In addition, column eluting experiment was conducted to simulate the practical HP-β-CD eluting of Aroclor1242 from contaminated soil, 18% of the PCBs was eluted from the soil column by 10 g/L of HP-β-CD. Overall, the results indicated the high extract power of HP-β-CD toward PCBs polluted soil and potential use of HP-β-CD for in situ remediation of PCBs contaminated soils.

Opis:
The safety and reliability of the manned airship depend to a considerable extent on its thermal performance. In this paper, heat balance equations are developed and solved in the C++ programming language. The temperature variation of the enclosure, gasbag, and nacelles of the manned airship is investigated. In addition, the effects of season, latitude, and orientation on the thermal performance of the manned airship and the airship nacelle are investigated. The results show that: (1) The average temperature difference of the nacelle surface at the same time is 25 K, while the maximum temperature difference in the nacelle is 29 K during the day, (2) the temperature distribution in the nacelle is similar in spring and autumn, with maximum temperature between 306 K and 309 K. The maximum temperature in the nacelle is between 300 K and 303 K in winter while the maximum temperature in the nacelles is between 309 K and 315 K in summer, (3) as the flight position of the manned airship changes from 20°N to 60°N, the average nacelle temperature varies slightly by about 1 K. However, as the latitude increases, the high- temperature region shifts from the bottom of the nacelle to the side of the nacelle, and (4) the temperature distribution of the upper envelope of the airship varies considerably with orientation. However, the average temperature of the nacelle is less impacted by orientation. These results are useful for understanding the thermal performance of manned airships.

With the increasing demand for efficient and economic energy storage, tin disulfide (SnS2), as one of the most attractive anode candidates for the next generation high-energy rechargeable Li-ion battery, have been paid more and more attention because of its high theoretical energy density and cost effectiveness. In this study, a new, simple and effective process, mechanical alloying (MA), has been developed for preparing fine anode material tin disulfides, in which ammonium chloride (AC), referred to as process control agents (PCAs), were used to prevent excessive cold-welding and accelerate the synthesis rates to some extent. Meanwhile, in order to decrease the mean size of SnS2 powder particles and improve the contact areas between the active materials, wet milling process was also conducted with normal hexane (NH) as a solvent PCA. The prepared powders were both characterized by X-ray diffraction, Field emission-scanning electron microscopeand particle size analyzer. Finally, electrochemical measurements for Li/SnS2 cells were takenat room temperature, using a two-electrode cell assembled in an argon-filled glove box and the electrolyte of 1M LiPF6 in a mixture of ethylene carbonate(EC)/dimethylcarbonate (DMC)/ethylene methyl carbonate (EMC) (volume ratio of 1:1:1).
