Opis:
The large variability in power consumption in electrical power systems (EPS) influences not only growth balance losses and technical losses, but also in some cases reduces energy security. Delayed restoration of power generation, combined with unpredictable weather events leading to the loss of generating power can lead to a situation in which to save the stability of the power system there must be introduced in the system a load power limit or even disconnection of end-user in a given area, which will significantly reduce the comfort of use of energy. This situation can be prevented through either the building of new intervention power units or the aggregated use of new energy technologies, such as distributed network resources (DER), which are part of an intelligent Smart Grid network. Such resources bring together virtual power plants (VPP) and demand side management (DSM). The article presents an alternative decentralized active demand response (DADR) system, that by acting on selected groups of loads reduces peak loads with minimized loss of comfort of energy in use for the end-user. The system operates without any communication. The effectiveness of the proposed solution has been confirmed, outlined in test results obtained by the authors from a developed analytical model, which also contains stochastic algorithms to decrease the negative impact of such DSM systems on the power system (power overshoot and oscillation).

Opis:
The assurance of the electromagnetic compatibility of sensitive smart metering systems and power electronic converters, which introduce high-level electromagnetic interference is important factor conditioning reliable operation of up to date power systems. Presented experimental results have shown that currently binding, frequency domain tests are ineffective for the evaluation of data transmission error hazards. The proposed in this paper mathematical, time-domain model, based on Diophantine equation, enables evaluation of data transmission errors caused by interference introduced by DC-DC power electronic interfaces with deterministic modulation. In the paper there have been presented possible application areas for the proposed model.

Opis:
Mechatronics is nowadays a dominating concept in design of various kinds of systems and technical devices. High speeds of data processing by control units of mechatronic systems, as well as high dynamics of their actuators allow the systems to be applied in wider fields. This refers to the medicine as well, especially while making attempts to replace lost human motor abilities by means of robots aiding the man. These devices can be divided into three groups: exoskeletons designed to strengthen the natural force of human muscles, orthotic robots that restore lost or weakened functions of human limbs, and prosthetic robots replacing an amputated limb. The first and the third group are known quite well, whereas the orthotic robots are at an initial phase of their development. The authors have worked on a device for aiding the motion of disabled people suffering from paresis of the lower limbs. The paper presents a concept and a structure of the system that has been created, comparing it with similar devices that have already existed. There are indicated some connections and areas where the subunits merge, as well as the rules of their working with the user.
