    This article maps the evolution of moral-panic studies, and in particular its recent developments, which strive to link the sociology of moral panics to social theory informed by the sociology of moral regulation. This new body of literature has not yet been systematically analysed. It emerged–after the initial British contribution and American-Israeli functionalist ‘second wave’–as a response to a perceived deficiency in the conventional model, which commonly conceptualized moral panics as irrational societal reactions to alleged threats. The recent approach explores moral panics as short-term global moral-governance techniques of advanced liberal societies. The author also discusses new lines of inquiry into the ‘productive’ function of moral panics by elaborating Durkheimian insights on moral panics, which are viewed as the claims-making that construct universal interpretations of an antagonistic situation and provide a surface for the inscription of the proponents’ collective identities.
    W artykule przeprowadzono krytyczną analizę ewolucji socjologii paniki moralnej, zwłaszcza jej ostatnich przekształceń, które wypracowane zostały w kontekście dyskusji z badaniami nad zarządzaniem ryzykiem i socjologią moralnej regulacji. Ten nowy nurt badań opiera się na przekonaniu socjologów o nieadekwatności dotychczasowego modelu studiów nad panikami moralnymi, które konwencjonalnie określały wybuchy panik jako irracjonalne zachowania społeczne. Tymczasem analizowane przekształcenia konceptualne dla odmiany identyfikują panikę moralną w perspektywie neofunkcjonalistycznego paradygmatu jako krótkookresowe techniki „moralnego zarządzania” współczesnych społeczeństw ryzyka. Artykuł przedstawia także wybrane wątki socjologii durkheimowskiej, które mogą pogłębić studia nad panikami moralnymi w dobie późnej nowoczesności.

    The article concerns on a methodological approach to design Rest and Service Areas. Because there is recorded steady growth in food cargo that require specific temperatures its resulting in an increase in demand for specialized transport. Transportation of food is usually done using vehicles equipped with refrigeration or heating. The article presents the design requirements for Rest and Service Areas (RSA), which is one of the most important elements of the road network, that condition affects the safety of drivers and cargo. Based on growth assumptions of effectiveness a functional model of RSA consisting five data bases and nine research tasks has been proposed. As a primary parameter studied in the model was the RSA effectiveness assessed by the rate of parking spaces utilization. The values of this index were estimated according to the share of traffic cars leave the motorway to the traffic flow of cars on the motorway. Evaluation of test results was based on the indicative comparative analysis of the existing and forecasted traffic flows of trucks with loads sensitive to the conditions and the time of their carriage. In the article pointed out that decisions taken in the course of modernization of the national RSA network should be reviewed and assessed through simulation studies of the transport process taking into account different boundary conditions, a risk analysis of transport depending on the type of transported cargo and analyze the efficiency and profitability of the national network creation of parking places adapted to specialized service of trucks carrying food cargo.

Ze względu na ograniczoną objętość opracowania analiza obejmuje jedynie najważniejsze – w przekonaniu autora – uwarunkowania i kierunki badań, odzwierciedlające specyfikę ośrodka.     The goal of this article is to present the scientific output of the Institute of Socio-Economic Geography and Spatial Management of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań in the field of spatial management. It was put into four problem groups: 1. Institutional-organisational determinants of the research. 2. Research problems, major research projects and international co-operation. 3. Application-related aspect of the research. 4. Integration of the research, didactics and practice. Special attention is paid to the research fields best developed in the Poznań centre, i.e. the theoretical and methodological foundations of spatial management, problems in regional and local development, cities and metropolitan areas, and rural development. Also presented are major research projects, including international ones (ACRE, STAREBEI, COMMIN+, CIRES, and RURACTION). Selected examples are used to highlight the synergy effect resulting from the integration of the research, didactics and practice.

    This is a survey of post-war critical studies of Polish press published abroad in 1918-1939. The article presents the results of a bibliometric analysis of publications dated 1945-2009. The theme that attracted most attention was the Polish press in Germany (40% of publications and 57% of references). It was followed by the Polish press in the Free City of Gdańsk (11% and 10% respectively), the United States (11% and 7%), France (6% and 5%), the USSR (4% and 6%) and Czechoslovakia (5% and 4%); other countries between them account for 22% of publications and 12% of reference

    In 1949 the first book of the Atlas of Polish Traditional Costumes series appeared. Józef Gajek was the one who initiated the series, published by Polish Folk Association to this day. He was associated with Polish Ethnographic Atlas, which had a great impact on the character of the series. Its main objective was to describe Polish traditional costumes according to particular regions. Janusz Kamocki and Barbara Bazielich were subsequent editors of the series. Since 2011 the authors of this article have been part of the editorial staff. At their initiative ten more books of the series were published in the years 2013–2018, field research on traditional handicraft was conducted and the Traditional Costume Section  was established. The article describes the circumstances accompanying this editorial series appearance and discusses both main directions in research on traditional costumes and activities for popularising knowledge of this unique cultural phenomenon.
