Opis:
The proportion of high speed railway vehicles in the rolling stock of national carriers providing public transport services is constantly increasing. Currently, Alstom vehicles run at the highest speed on railway lines in Poland. The paper attempts to identify the acoustic signature of high speed railway vehicles. There are many works and studies aimed at identifying or defining the acoustic signature of high speed railway vehicles. However, the authors of these works carried out their research in a rather narrow scope, i.e. the measurement cross-section had only 1 or 2 measurement points with one micro-phone at each point. As part of the conducted experimental research, the location of testing grounds was determined, the measurement apparatus was selected and the methodology for carrying out measurements including the assessment of noise emission on curve and straight line were specified for electric multiple units. The object of the tests were railway vehicles of Alstom company, type ETR610, series ED250, the so-called Pendolino, moving on a selected measuring route without stops at a speed of 200 km/h. Measurements were carried out on the railway line no. 4 Grodzisk Mazowiecki – Zawiercie, section Grodzisk Mazowiecki - Idzikowice at kilometre 18+600 (curve) and 21+300 (straight section). When measuring the acoustic signals with a microphone array (4x2), 8 measurement microphones operating in the audible range were used. The microphones were placed at a distance of 5 m, 10 m, 20 m and 40 m from the track centre, at a height of 4 m (from the rail head) and at the rail head (approx. 0.8 m from the ground surface). In addition, an acoustic camera with 112 directional microphones was used to locate the main noise sources, which was located at a distance of approximately 20 m from the track centre-line. The identification of the main noise sources for high speed railway vehicles, basig on actual acoustic measurements, made it possible to isolate the dominant noise sources, as well as to find out the amplitude-frequency characteristics in the range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz, divided into one third octave bands.

The running speed of high-speed trains in the tunnel is as high as 350 km, which is very sensitive to the construction disturbance of the new shield tunnel. Therefore, it is of positive significance to study the influence of shield tunneling on existing high-speed railway lines and tunnel structures and control standards. Combined with centrifuge test and three-dimensional numerical simulation, the dynamic response of shield tunnel undercrossing existing high-speed railway tunnel is studied, and the influence of settlement joint and steel pipe pile reinforcement on existing tunnel is analyzed. Studies have shown that the existence of existing tunnels will reduce the surface settlement caused by tunnel excavation, but this shielding effect will be reduced if the influence of construction joints is considered. Therefore, if the construction joint is not considered in the numerical calculation, the ground deformation will be underestimated and the mechanical performance of the existing tunnel structure will be overestimated. In addition, steel pipe piles can effectively control the settlement of existing tunnels.

The mechanical state of broken surrounding rock during the construction of ultra-shallow buried high-speed railway tunnel is very complicated, seriously affecting the construction safety. Taking Huying Xishan tunnel on Beijing-Shenyang Line as engineering background, MADIS/GTS NX numerical simulation and field test methods are used to analyze the characteristics of stress field, overall displacement, horizontal convergence of tunnel sidewalls and vault settlement during construction. The main mechanical characteristics of ultra-shallow buried high-speed railway tunnel with broken surrounding rock include: (1) After the stress redistribution, the stress concentration occurs at the boundary of the tunnel sidewall and surrounding rock, and the vertical displacement of tunnel vault and bottom appears obviously. (2) The horizontal displacement on both sides of the initial lining is obvious, while the horizontal displacement on the upper and lower support is small. The maximum lateral displacement of the initial lining is 1.71 cm, while the maximum vault settlement of the lower invert is 9.3 cm. (3) Both the horizontal convergence and the vault settlement increase with time. The growth rate is large in the early stage and tends to be stable in the later stage. (4) Compared with exponential and hyperbolic functions, the logarithmic function is most suitable for regression analysis of horizontal convergence and measured vault settlement data, and its fitting accuracy is higher than 90%.

The equipment mounted on the carbody chassis of the railway vehicles is a critical component of the vehicle in terms of ride comfort. The reason for that is their large mass, able to visibly influence the vibrations mode of the carbody. The paper examines the influence of the equipment upon the mode of vertical vibrations of the carbody in the high-speed vehicles, reached on the basis of the frequency response functions of the acceleration in three carbody reference points – at the centre and above the bogies. These functions are derived from the numerical simulations developed on a rigid-flexible coupled model, with seven degrees of freedom. As a rule, the results herein prove the influence of the equipment mounting mode (rigid or elastic), along with the speed regime, upon the level of vibrations in the carbody reference points, at the resonance frequency of the symmetrical bending mode. Similarly, it is also demonstrated how the equipment mass and the damping degree of the suspension system affect the level of the vibrations in the carbody.
Wyposażenie zamontowane na podwoziu pudła wagonu kolejowego stanowi krytyczny składnik pojazdu gdy chodzi o komfort jazdy. Powodem jest jego znaczna masa, zdolna w istotny sposób wpływać na drgania pojazdu. W artykule badano wpływ wyposażenia na tryb drgań pionowych nadwozia wagonu kolei szybkobieżnych. Za podstawę przyjęto częstotliwościowe funkcje przyspieszenia wyznaczone w trzech punktach odniesienia – w środku pojazdu i ponad wózkami zwrotnymi. Funkcje te zostały wyznaczone na podstawie symulacji numerycznych opracowanych dla sprzężonego sprężysto-sztywnego modelu o siedmiu stopniach swobody. Otrzymane wyniki z reguły potwierdzają, że sposób zamontowania wyposażenia (sztywne lub sprężyste), wraz z warunkami prędkości jazdy, mają wpływ na poziom wibracji w wybranych punktach odniesienia na częstotliwości rezonansowej w symetrycznym trybie zgięciowym. Pokazano także jak masa wyposażenia i stopień tłumienia w systemie jego zawieszenia wpływają na poziom wibracji nadwozia.

Opis:
High-frequency resonance is a prominent phenomenon which affects the normal operation of the high-speed railway in China. Aiming at this problem, the resonance mechanism is analyzed first. Then, model predictive control and selective harmonic elimination pulse-width modulation (MPC-SHEPWM) combined control strategy is proposed, where the harmonics which cause the resonance can be eliminated at the harmonic source. Besides, the MPC is combined to make the current track the reference in transients. The proposed control has the ability to suppress the resonance while has a faster dynamic performance comparing with SHEPWM. Finally, the proposed MPC-SHEPWM is tested in a simulation model of CRH5 (Chinese Railway High-speed), EMUs (electric multiple units) and a traction power supply coupled system, which shows that the proposed MPC-SHEPWM approach can achieve the resonance suppression and shows a better dynamic performance.

For centuries, it is known that people always prefer to accommodate in the region where there is good transportation network. Proper organization of transportation is one of the key elements which influence the dynamics of the World economics system development. Thanks to infrastructure modernization which allows to transfer the goods between engaged parties, it is possible to increase production and commonly to intense exploitation of areas located near this infrastructure among others in industry purposes. With regard to increasing demand for effective and efficient transportation system, there is a real need to improve communication and transportation infrastructure. A chance for this target shall be modern high technologies, which allows running with very high speed and thus also to reduce journey time. For this purpose there were established and is still developing relatively new product – high speed rail which is supposed to revolutionize modern transportation system functioning in the World. The article calls attention on a chance for improving competitiveness of rail freight transportation in Poland thanks to developing high speed rail network. There is underlined also rationality of modernization of the rail line which connect the biggest cities in South part of Poland. The descriptive part of the article refers to the high speed rail system and its development conditions. The research part is a technical feasibility study about section Cracow – Katowice – Wroclaw and possibilities for adopting it to achieve high speed rail line parameters.

Modern regulations concerning railway bridges are based on the approach of structural dynamics, which is described in PN-EN standards. This paper presents the results of theoretical dynamic analysis of the HSLM-A train set loading on the structure of a pre-stressed concrete arch bridge - the first railway bridge of its type which was built in Poland (completed in 1959). The recommendations of PN-EN have been followed and modal analysis was carried out to define the sensitivity of the structure to chosen eigenforms. Additionally the paper presents a course of calculations and the conclusions obtained from the analysis of displacements, accelerations, and bending moments induced in the structure through a simulated passage of a high-speed train in the context of the requirements of PN-EN Standards. The conclusions from the current calculations can be used for dynamic analysis of bridges of similar structural solutions.
Współczesne przepisy kolejowe [1÷3, 8] bazują na Eurokodach [6, 7], w których dynamiczny charakter obciążenia uwzględniany jest na podstawie analizy dynamicznej odpowiedzi konstrukcji z symulacją ruchu obciążenia. Polega ona na wyznaczeniu bezpośrednich procesów deformacji i dystrybucji sił wewnętrznych i naprężeń od modelowych obciążeń pociągami szybkobieżnymi HSLM (High Speed Load Model). W referacie przedstawiono wyniki teoretycznej analizy oddziaływania modeli pociągów szybkobieżnych HSLM-A pod kątem wymagaPN-EN, na konstrukcję pierwszego wybudowanego w Polsce (1959 r.) łukowego mostu kolejowego z betonu sprężonego.

In the past, railway transition curves were not used. Instead of it, a simple connection of the straight track and circular arc was applied. Nowadays, such simplicity is not allowed due to the increasing vehicle operating velocities. It is mainly visible in the high-speed train lines, where long curves are used. The article aims to develop a new shape of railway transition curves for which passenger travel comfort will be as high as possible. Considerations in this paper concern the polynomials of 9th- and 11th-degrees, which were adopted to the mathematical model of the mentioned shape of curves. The study's authors applied a 2-axle rail vehicle model combined with mathematically understood optimisation methods. The advanced vehicle model can better assign the dynamical properties of railway transition curves to freight and passenger vehicles. The mentioned model was adopted to simulate rail vehicle movement in both cases of the shape of transition curves and the shape of circular arc (for comparison of the results). Passenger comfort, described by European Standard EN 12299, was used as the assessment criterion. The work showed that the method using the 2-axle railway vehicle model combined with mathematically understood optimisation works correctly, and the optimisation of the transition curve shape is possible. The current study showed that the 3rd-degree parabola (the shape of the curve traditionally used in railway engineering) is not always the optimum shape. In many cases (especially for the long curves), the optimum shape of curves is between the standard transition curves and the linear curvature of the 3rd-degree parabola. The new shapes of the railway transition curves obtained when the passenger comfort is taken into account result in new railway transition curves shapes. In the authors' opinion, the results presented in the current work are a novelty in optimisation and the properties assessment of railway transition curves.
