Opis:
Numerical simulations of the pantograph-catenary dynamic interaction allow for assessment of the current collection quality provided by this subsystem at the design stage of the pantograph or the catenary system. In this paper, the authors present numerical results of simulations of the dynamic interaction between a pantograph and a catenary. Adopted catenary and pantograph models are consistent with the reference model presented in the EN 50318:2002 document, which describes the validation procedure of the simulation for the dynamic interaction between pantograph and overhead contact line. Authors have used the Finite Element Method to analyze this complex system. Ten catenary spans of simple catenary (one messenger wire and one contact wire) are modelled, each of them is 60m long. The pre-sag of the catenary is 0mm and the model of the catenary includes the stagger which equals ±200mm. The pantograph model consists of lumped masses which are connected each other with spring-damper elements. First, the static initial configuration is obtained (under gravity and tensioning loads), after which the dynamic transient simulation is conducted. Obtained results for the contact force and uplifts at supports are within the reference ranges presented in the EN 50318:2002 document, therefore it can be considered that the adopted model correctly reproduces the dynamic behaviour of the pantograph-catenary dynamic interaction.

Opis:
Short-term contact losses between a pantograph and a contact wire are not included in the standards nor are they taken into account in evaluating pantograph-contact wire interaction. These contact losses, however, accelerate wear and tear as well as disturb operation of vehicles’ drive systems. The article presents the effects of short-term contact breaks as well as an analysis of impact of contact breakages on a vehicle’s current at 3 kV DC power supply. Results of voltage and current oscillations measured in real conditions when pantograph of a DC driven chopper vehicle was running under isolators were presented. Then a simulation model of a vehicles with ac motors and voltage inverters was derived to undertake simulation experiments verifying operation of such a vehicle in condition similar to those measured in real condition.

Opis:
The study presents a calculation method of the voltage induced by power-line sagged conductor in an inductively coupled overhead circuit of arbitrary configuration isolated from ground. The method bases on the solution utilizing the magnetic vector potential for modeling 3D magnetic fields produced by sagging conductors of catenary electric power lines. It is assumed that the equation of the catenary exactly describes the line sag and the influence of currents induced in the earth on the distribution of power line magnetic field is neglected. The method derived is illustrated by exemplary calculations and the results obtained are partially compared with results computed by optional approach.

Opis:
It is not easy to make the insulators of the railway catenary for the dry and cold environment of the icy Qinghai-Tibet plateau, without causing serious ice-related flashover accidents. To study the operating status of catenary icing insulators, a two-dimensional icing model of catenary cantilever insulators was established based on the winter environmental characteristics of the Golmud station on the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Compared different directions of ice growth, the spatial electric field distribution, and surface temperature distribution characteristics of icing insulators were analyzed by multi-physical field coupling simulation. The results show that as the thickness of the ice layer increases and the length of the icicle increases, the field intensity of the insulator gradually increases, and the surface temperature continues to rise. When the ice edge grows vertically downward, the electric field intensity of the insulator is the smallest, and the electric field intensity is the largest when the ice edge grows horizontally. Although the surface temperature of the insulator will rise with the increase of icing degree, it is lower than the freezing point and will not have a great impact on insulation performance. Secondly, when the cantilever insulator is arranged obliquely, the increase in the inclination angle will cause the electric field to increase and the temperature to rise slightly, so the inclination angle of the oblique cantilever should be reduced as much as possible during installation. Finally, the insulator with better insulation performance is obtained by optimizing the structure of the flat cantilever insulator.

Opis:
The mathematical model of vehicle supply system as welI as the mathematical model of main circuit of locomotive with asynchronous motors have been described in this article. The necessity of analysis of disturbances caused by distorted current run of drive motors emerged together with the introduction of high power vehicles with power eIectronic converters. Analysis of the compatibility of traction high current circuits with circuits of the signal and traffic controI systems requires the knowledge of current spectrum in a catenary, which has been taken by a vehicle. The author has described the algebraic method of calculating of the spectrum amplitudes in a catenary. It does not require laborious and time-consuming simulations of a system, which considerably decreases preliminary costs of designation and dimensioning of a vehicle drive system.
W artykule opisano model matematyczny systemu zasilania pojazdu oraz obwodu głównego lokomotywy z silnikami asynchronicznymi. Wraz z wprowadzeniem pojazdów przekształtnikowych dużej mocy zaistniała konieczność analizy oddziaływań zakłócających wywołanych odkształconym przebiegiem prądów silników napędowych. Analiza kompatybilności obwodów silnoprądowych trakcji z obwodami widma prądu w sieci trakcyjnej wywołanego przez pojazd. Autor opisał metodę algebraiczną obliczania amplitud widma w sieci trakcyjnej. Nie wymaga ona żmudnyvh i czasochłonnych symulacji systemu co w znacznej mierze zmniejsza wstępne koszty projektowania i wymiarowania systemu napędowego pojazdu.
