    In this article, authors analyze methods of the analysis of data integrity, security and availability loss results for business processes. Assessing those results, one can judge the importance of a process in organization; thus, determine which business process requires more attention. The importance of those processes can be determined with Business Impact Analysis (BIA). In article, first phase of BIA is presented - in specific, a construction of Business Impact Category Tables, Loss Levels and process weight calculation methods. A variety of weight calculating methods is presented. Authors also present their proposed method - square sum percentage - as a solution eliminating problems of other weight calculation methods in business impact analysis.
    Realizowany przez Instytut Technik Innowacyjnych EMAG system OSCAD (Otwarty Szkieletowy System Zarządzania Ciągłością Działania) ma realizować komputerowe wspomaganie zarządzania ciągłością działania organizacji (w tym również zarządzanie ciągłością działania infrastruktury IT) oraz zarządzanie bezpieczenśtwem informacji przetwarzanych w instytucji, jej systemach informatycznych. Komputerowe wspomaganie będzie obejmowało m.in. takie elementy, jak zarządzanie ryzykiem oraz zarządzanie incydentami. Opisywana w artykule metoda analizy ryzyka została zaimplementowana w module służącym do analizy i oceny poziomu ryzyka dla danych przetwarzanych w organizacji oraz realizowanych procesów. Wynikiem działania tego modułu jest następnie raport z listą zabezpieczeń wdrożonych oraz wymaganych do wdrożenia w organizacji Autorzy analizują sposób modelowania skutków biznesowych dla utraty poufności, integralności i dostępności danych i procesów biznesowych. Zaprezentowano pierwszą fazę BIA (analizy skutków biznesowych), a zwłaszcza konstrukcję tabeli kategorii skutków biznesowych. Przedstawiono różne metody kalkulacji wagi (znaczenia) procesu dla organizacji. Autorzy proponują własną metodę - procenta sumy kwadratowej - jako rozwiązania eliminującego problemy innych metod kalkulacji wagi procesu w analizie skutków biznesowych.

    The article deals with the spatial analysis of the number of agritourist farms in Poland (9882 farms in 2014), taking into account the influence of both external, i.e. natural and man-made, and internal (according to the Agricultural Census of 2010) factors affecting agriculture, as well as the funds available thanks to the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). The study has been based on the ratio of agritourist farms which were established owing to the support of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development 2007–2013 to the total number of applications processed within the CAP aid measure of ‘Diversification and development of rural economic activities’; to the total number of agritourist farms; and to the total number of agricultural holdings with non-agricultural business activity. The analysis demonstrated a considerable territorial diversification of agritourism in Poland, which is related both to the areas with favourable conditions and to the development of the tourist function. It also showed an increase in the number of agritourist farms established in the regions which are not characterised by favourable conditions and which have so far remained on the sidelines of the major growth areas of the agritourist function

    Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are facing barriers to grow due to the lack of structured procedures for upgrading and allocating the limited resources. To overcome these drawbacks and to improve business capabilities, a structured framework to conduct a comprehensive diagnostic and upgrading study is presented in this paper. The proposed framework involves four phases. First, the external and internal strategic factors, which can affect the enterprises’ performance are evaluated using strategic planning and assessment tools. Second, key upgrade performance indicators are developed and evaluated using multi-attribute rating techniques to guide, evaluate, and track progress of upgrading process. Third, a set of upgrade strategies are generated and evaluated using resource allocation model. Finally, a periodic re-evaluation plan is introduced to monitor the implementation progress. The developed framework for performance evaluation and upgrading is suitable to be used as a structured know-how procedure in manufacturing enterprises and can support entrepreneurs in their strategic decisions. To validate the proposed framework, a data set was collected from a local housecore company. As a result, one package of the efficient frontier strategies that represents the best use of resources was proposed for implementation.

    The article deals with the features and characteristics of intelligent systems for modelling business processes. Their classification was made and criteria for comparison were developed. According to the comparative analysis of existing expert systems for intelligent analysis, a reasonable choice of system for modelling business processes of a particular enterprise has been carried out. In general, it was found that the introduction of intelligent systems for modelling business processes of the enterprise and forecasting its activities for future allows management of the company to obtain relevant and necessary information for the adoption of effective management decisions and the development of a strategic plan.

    The economic activity indicators in Poland during the years 1995-2011 exhibit various cyclical patterns. Employing the Christiano – Fitzgerald band-pass filter and unobserved components model it is shown that the cyclical processes of Polish economic activity are driven by overlapping higher frequency fluctuations (3-4 years) and longer cycles of 8.5 years. The cyclical fluctuations of construction, transportation and trade are dissimilar to gross value added. Economic activity in transportation leads and in construction lags the fluctuations of gross value added. Cyclical fluctuations of gross value added seem to be determined by industry and construction. Manufacturing, especially capital and intermediate goods fluctuations are responsible for the variation of industry. The production of non-durable consumer goods, energy and production of electric power are relatively the most desynchronized compared to industry. Production of electric power leads industrial production. Capital goods, intermediate goods and energy cycle phases are asymmetric – the slowdown lasts shorter and has higher amplitude compared to expansion.     The article is devoted to the development of a multicomponent adaptive strategy for managing Russian high-tech enterprises in modern crisis conditions. Adaptability and flexibility are considered as the most important indicators of the efficiency of structures, their ability to ensure sustainable operation and effective innovative development of high-tech enterprises. A significant place in the article is devoted to possible approaches and methods of adaptive management of the enterprise in crisis, with the help of which changes in the internal and external environment are monitored, which can be expected and random, make current operational decisions that contribute to the achievement of pre-set goals based on correction of certain tasks. The questions about the quality of adaptation, adaptive characteristics of the structure and their consistency with the level and quality of adaptation of other elements of the enterprise, conjugation of adaptability and flexibility and pace of changes are considered. A number of modern techniques related to the development of strategies for the development of high-tech enterprises in crisis conditions are analyzed. The necessity of conducting a comprehensive accounting of the crisis as the main factor associated with the uncertainty of the external environment at the stage of strategic analysis is substantiated. There is an option, in which it is possible to include the crisis and its main characteristics into the strategic three competence model of the enterprise, as an additional controlled parameter. There is a general specificity of the formation of the strategy of a high-tech enterprise in conditions of risk and uncertainty.

    We discuss the notion of the financial cycle making a clear indication that the thorough study of its empirical properties in case of developing economies is still missing. We focus on the observed series of credit and equity and make formal statistical inference about the properties of the cycles in case of Polish economy. The non-standard subsampling procedure and discrete spectral characteristics of almost periodically correlated time series are applied to make formal statistical inference about the cycle. We compare the results with those obtained for UK and USA. We extract the cyclical component and confront empirical properties of the financial cycle for small open economy with those established so far in case of developed economies.

    The purpose of this paper is to identify and analyze strategy towards Thailand production service industry. Various tools are applied in the paper, including five force analysis, diamond of nation, and sense and respond method with CFI models. The analysis results show that Thai fine gold jewellery exporter should concern on value added and customer requirement; focus on product development, networking, cooperation between Thai organizers and lobbying; pay more attention to marketing orientation than personal judgment. The benefit of combining five force and diamond of nation model to analyse the strategic condition can be proved in this study.

    The chapter deals with the issue of the risk and security management process in public administration, according to the internal audit standards and their requirements. Main legal acts and standards were specified and shortly described. Specially the risk analysis process and security measures selection were emphasized. The possibility to use the software tools for the risk analysis and security measures selection support in public administration was presented. The experiment of OSCAD usage in public administration was shortly described and its results were presented. This experiment shows that the software primarily intended for IT Security Management can be used for risk management in different area as well, for example – in public administration. Some possibilities of further development of risk management supporting tools were proposed
    Rozdział dotyczy problemów procesu zarządzania ryzykiem i zarządzania bezpieczeństwem w administracji publicznej i jednostkach sektora finansów publicznych, w odniesieniu do standardów kontroli zarządczej i ich wymagań. W artykule wymieniono i krótko opisano główne akty prawne i standardy związane z tymi tematami. Szczególnie wyróżniono proces analizy ryzyka i doboru zabezpieczeń. Przedstawiono możliwość wykorzystania narzędzi komputerowych do wsparcia procesu zarządzania ryzykiem i doboru zabezpieczeń w jednostkach administracji publicznej. Krótko opisano próbę wykorzystania do tego celu oprogramowania OSCAD. Eksperyment ten wykazał możliwość wykorzystania w obszarze administracji publicznej narzędzia, dedykowanego pierwotnie do wsparcia procesu zarządzania bezpieczeństwem informacji i ciągłością działania. Na koniec przedstawiono możliwości dalszego rozwoju narzędzi wspierających proces zarządzania ryzykiem.
