    Science 2.0 aims at using the information sharing and collaborative features of the Internet to offer new features to the research community. Science 2.0 has been already applied to computer sciences, especially bioinformatics. For network information hiding, a field studying the possibility of concealing a communication in networks, the application of Science 2.0 is still a rather uncovered territory. To foster the discussion of potential benefits for network information hiding, we provide a disquisition for six different Science 2.0 aspects when applied to this domain.

    Opis:
    Visualization of science – it is a new research filed that allows large-scale analysis of the science evolution and historical changes in human activity. In the last decade it has become an important methodology used in the detection of current trends and both growth and fade of scientific domains. As the units of analysis bibliographic databases and the network data, such as logs, clicks, paths of users, blogs structure, communication packets are used. Due to graphical representations scientists can discover the critical changes in a proper research area and thus see scientific paradigms. Current article describes two examples of visualization in physics and computer science. In the first case, graphical pattern of cocitations in superstring theory illustrates the formation and development of the superstrings, including critical points – paradigms. The second one refers to the research conducted for several years by the author: visualization computer science literature from ACM Digital Library. Obtained maps well reflect the development of cloud computing methodology. The article presents an analytical potencial of visualization in science. Further more it indicates the need for a correlation between the qualitative and quantative methods in scientometrics.

    Opis:
    The author presents the features of axiomatized theories, and - as a keen supporter of a view that sociological theories can be axiomatized - suggests that informal axiomatization is most suitable for sociological theories. Departing from the rules for statement proving presented by Karl Popper the author analyses three interrelated values describing a theoretical statement: universality, precision and value of information. In this perspective theoretical statement is a statement which possesses high value of information, which has not been falsified. In the last part of the article the author undertakes a set of deductive procedures in order to axiomatize the conflict within a role and conflict of roles theory. He concludes that axiomatization leads to higher accuracy of theoretical apparatus, makes theories more valuable in explanatory and heuristic terms and allows undertaking methodological operations new to sociological theories such as theoretical reduction.

    Committee of Electronics and Telecommunications of the Polish Academy of Sciences (KEiT PAN) has been acting on behalf of scientific community in Poland since 1960. The article presents structure, statutory tasks, and Committee activities on behalf of the integration and development of electronics and telecommunications sciences and technology in Poland. The Committee of Electronics and Telecommunications of PAS is all the time an active participant of research life in the country. However, this participation is different than it used to be, and all the time is subject to intense changes. The authors present critically the current status of the Committee, but also undertake an effort to newly define the role, activity and potential of KEiT PAN, in completely new conditions of doing research in Poland, Europe and worldwide, than it was at that time, when the PAS Committees were originally defined. The conclusions, upon possible acceptance by the national research and technical communities of electronics and telecommunications, may possibly serve to change and/or optimise the work of the Committee in the near future.
