- The subject of the article presents the prospects for the development of drives in motor vehicles. At the beginning of the text, the importance of ecology and sustainable development in the transport sector was discussed. The activities of the European Commission aimed at reducing the emission of harmful compounds into the atmosphere were presented. Then the types of car drives are discussed. The efficiency of each drive as well as advantages and disadvantages for both the environment and the user are well as the development prospects for each of the solutions, their opportunities and threats are indicated.
