Opis:
The effect of initial frequency chirp is numerically investigated to obtain high-efficient supercontinuum radiation in photonic crystal fibers with two closely spaced zero-dispersion wavelengths. Our results show that the positive chirp can significantly improve the probability of energy transferred from the soliton to the dispersive wave. And with the increase of the chirp, the energy increases obviously. At the same time, the intensity of the dispersive wave is proportional to the chirp value. Especially, solitons will not appear when the chirp value exceeds 3.9. Therefore, choosing an appropriate positive chirp, we can regulate the energy of the dispersive wave and solitons in photonic crystal fibers.

Opis:
The method for the synthesis of either unmodified magnesium hydroxide or functionalised with poly(ethylene glycols) of different molecular weights and physicochemical properties of the products are presented. Magnesium hydroxide was obtained by the precipitation method under well defined conditions from ammonia solution and different magnesium salts. Dispersive properties of the products were characterised by polydispersity index, particle size, as well as SEM images. Crystalline structure of magnesium hydroxide samples were determined by the WAXS method. To confirm the presence of functional groups introduced by appropriate modifiers the samples were subjected to spectroscopic analysis. Electrokinetic stability of the studied samples was determined on the basis of zeta potential dependence vs. pH measurements. The modification has resulted in reduction of particle diameters in some Mg(OH)2 samples.

Opis:
In this work, the dispersive effect of low molecular weight sodium polyacrylate (PAAS) on serpentine, and its dispersion mechanism were systematically investigated through zeta potential measurements, micro and batch flotation as well as adsorption tests. At pH 5, where flotation of iron sulphide was routinely performed, pyrite and serpentine minerals were oppositely charged, and therefore they were attracted to each other. Slime coatings of serpentine adhered to the surface of pyrite, decreasing the adsorption density of a collector on the pyrite surface, but also reducing the flotation recovery. PAAS increased the flotation recovery of pyrite by promoting dispersion between pyrite and serpentine. The effective flotation separation of pyrite from the refractory iron sulphide ore was possible by using PAAS as a dispersant. Anionic PAAS adjusted the surface potential of serpentine through adsorption on the serpentine surface and changed the interaction between pyrite and serpentine particles from attractive to repulsive, and then dispersed pyrite and serpentine.

Opis:
The analytical expression for the cross-spectral density function of stochastic electromagnetic Bessel–Gauss pulsed beams through a dispersive aperture lens is derived and used to study the changes in the spectral degree of polarization in an optical focus system. The changes in the spectral degree of polarization at the focal plane and on the z-axis are performed in the case of dispersion-free, dispersion of the first, second, and higher orders, respectively. It is shown that the dispersion affects the peak value of the spectral degree of polarization, and the higher order dispersion leads to a more obvious effect on the peak value of the spectral degree of polarization at the focal plane. On the z-axis, the spectral degree of polarization in the dispersion-free case is different form that in the dispersion case, however, the dispersion of different orders almost has the same effect on the spectral degree of polarization. The results obtained in this paper may be crucial for high precision laser detection.
