Opis:: The article presents one of the modern trends in logistics service. Attention has been paid to the concept of green supply chains. The essence and aspects of a green supply chain have been presented. Furthermore, reasons for introducing changes and examples of implemented solutions have been indicated. The short-term and long-term benefits of transformation traditional supply chains into green alternatives have been also emphasized. The possibility of achieving a competitive advantage in the future, thanks to the use of a sustainable approach, has been also highlighted.

Opis:: This study aims to model a planning process of handling outbound deliveries from a set of geographically dispersed warehouses. The model incorporates parameters observed in real-life supply chains and allows simulation of various variants of process supporting decision making of current shipment management, as well as strategic planning of distribution network. A heuristic algorithm that can be used for planning source warehouses for shipments is proposed. The model is built and tested on real business data and its performance proves to be better than the one currently used by a reference company.

Opis:: The efficient flow of information is a determinant of a company's success. Opis:: The article aims to draw attention to the impact of the role of packaging on the efficient implementation of flows in the supply chain. The analysis based on the literature shows that the packaging is the basic functions in the distribution of goods. Packaging is subjected to many quality tests during the potential route from the sender or producer to the customer. These tests verify not only if the product is temper-proof but also whether transport damage may underestimate the value. The analysis was conducted to prove that properly designed packaging can affect significantly costs reducing, workmanship and process security in supply chains.
