Opis:
The aim of the present paper is to propose a method of laboratory tests to determine non-linear elastic properties of coated Panama fabric. The material parameters are specified on the basis of uniaxial tensile tests in the warp and weft directions. Techniques based on the least squares' methods are used in the determination process. Reduction concepts of the strength parameters are proposed in order to take into account rheological effects in the fabric. Numerical applications to MSC.Marc, a commercial program, are presented. A user-defined HOOKLW subroutine is used to introduce the non-linear elastic properties of the PVC-coated fabric into the MSC.Marc system.

Opis:
The aim of the present paper is to propose a special kind of finite element procedure for dynamic and static analysis of civil engineering structures (e.g. trusses, beams, shells and spatial structures) including elasto-viscoplastic models. The Chaboche model with damage has been chosen from the wide range of available elasto-viscoplastic constitutive models for numerical calculations. The main advantage of the presented approach is the possibility of interference in subroutines and adjusting them to a particular problem (e.g. altering the form of constitutive equations). A user-defined UVSCPL subroutine has been proposed to introduce the elasto-viscoplastic model into the MSC.Marc system.

Opis:
The aim of the present paper is to propose a method of laboratory tests necessary for identification of non-linear elastic properties of the PVC-coated Panama fabric often used for hanging roofs. Two methods of describing the fabric's non-linear behaviour are investigated: piecewise linear relations between stress and strain are assumed and the Murnaghan model of solid behaviour is applied. The material parameters are specified on the basis of uniaxial constant strain rate tensile tests in the warp and weft directions. Techniques based on the least squares methods are applied in the identification process.

Opis:
The work's aim has been to verify the suitability of commercial engineering software for geometrically non-linear analysis of shell structures. The paper deals with static, geomet-rically non-linear analysis of shells made of isotropic materials. The Finite Element Method (FEM) has been chosen to solve the problem. The results of the ROBOBAT Ro-bot Millennium v. 19.0 and MSC.Marc v. 2005r2 commercial software are compared with the literature results.

Opis:
The aim of the paper is to propose an FE procedure for static and dynamic nonlinear analysis including elasto-viscoplastic constitutive equations of the Bodner-Partom model. Basic equations of the constitutive model are given with the flow graph used in the FE procedure. The proposed procedure has been applied in the MSC.Marc commercial system with a user-defined UVSCPL subroutine that enables application to a wide range of varied finite elements. A number of simple problems of static and dynamic analysis are presented to show the accuracy of this approach. The numerical simulations are compared with experiments to validate the proposed FE procedure.

Opis:
The paper presents a non-linear finite element procedure for analysis of membrane structures. A four-node quadrilateral finite element is formulated to represent a general curved elastic geometrically non-linear surface. The described isoparametric element is CO-continuous, of constant thickness, and assumes a plane stress criterion. A simple numerical example is presented as an application of the described theory.
