Opis:
The dual phase lag equation describing the temperature field in a 3D domain is considered. This equation supplemented by boundary and initial conditions is solved by means of the boundary element method using discretization in time, while at the same time the Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are taken into account. Numerical realization of the BEM for the constant boundary elements and constant internal cells is presented. The example of computations concerns the temperature field distribution in a heated domain. The conclusions connected with the proper choice of time step and discretization of the domain considered are formulated.

Opis:
In this work, the topological derivative for the Laplace equation is used to solve a design problem. This derivative describes the sensitivity of the problem when a small hole is formed at an arbitrary point of the domain. The goal of this work is to design topology of the domain when the Robin condition is imposed on the holes. Physically, the holes can be construed as cooling channels. For finding the solution of the governing equation the boundary element method is applied. The final part of the paper presents the design of the heat exchanger and results of computations.

In the paper the burned and healthy layers of skin tissue are considered. The temperature distribution in these layers is described by the system of two Pennes equations. The governing equations are supplemented by the boundary conditions. On the external surface the Robin condition is known. Opis:
An initial stability of Kirchhoff plates by the Boundary Element Method (BEM) is presented in the paper. A plate is subjected by external in-plane normal and tangential conservative loadings acting in two perpendicular directions. The Betti’s theorem is used to derive the boundary-domain integral equations. The direct version of the Boundary Element Method is presented with combination to simplified boundary conditions. The singular and non-singular approach of the boundary integrals derivation is used.

Opis:
A waterproof or water-resistant sandwich structure which consists of housing chassis and a gasket requires that gasket contact pressure, which depends on bolt axial force, is greater than the design minimum pressure on the entire circumference. However, it is also necessary that gasket contact pressure is smaller than the maximum permissible gasket pressure. If the maximum stress in chassis can be calculated from bolt axial force, gasket specifications and chassis stiffness, it is helpful for a design of such waterproof structures. In this study, chassis have been regarded as Bernoulli-Euler beams, and two simple numerical methods have thus been derived. Numerical results using the proposed method are sufficiently converged even in case that the number of partitions is about 10.

A static analysis of circular and elliptic Kirchhoff plates resting on internal elastic supports by the Boundary Element Method is presented in the paper. Elastic support has the character of Winkler-type elastic foundations. Bilateral and unilateral internal constraints are taken into consideration. The Betti’s theorem is used to derive the boundary domain integral equation. The direct version of the boundary element method is presented and simplified boundary conditions, including curvilinear boundary elements, are introduced. The collocation version of boundary element method with non-singular approach is presented.

Opis:
In the current study, the Laplace equation is solved for rectangular and elliptical computational domains by using the boundary element method (BEM). For this accomplishment, 120 different aspect ratios in a rectangular and elliptical computational domains are designed. The Dirichlet and Neumann boundary conditions are used respectively for a rectangular and elliptical domains. Also, the Gaussian quadrature integral method is applied to solve the influence coefficient matrix in BEM. To assess a different aspect ratio on the potential solution, two different measurement positions are intended. According to our finding, with an increase of the aspect ratio, the potential value is increased for both rectangular and elliptical domains. However, a potential increment with aspect ratio enhancement is more visible in the elliptical domain.

In order to achieve the desired topology we often have to remove material of the area considered. This work presents the author's algorithm which can be used in the reconstruction of the boundary of domain after elimination of a certain amount of material. The paper introduces some details about the procedure that allows one to achieve the expected shape of a domain. The topological-shape sensitivity method for the Laplace equation is used to obtain an optimal topology, whereas numerical methodology utilizes the boundary element method. In the conclusion of the paper the example of computation is shown.

The heat exchange between sub-domains and environment is described by the system of partial differential equations (the Pennes equations) supplemented by the assumed boundary conditions. Additional problems associated with sensitivity analysis with respect to thermal parameters occurring in the mathematical model are formulated. Both the basic problem and additional ones concerning the sensitivity with respect to selected parameters are solved using the boundary element method. The paper presents an analysis of effective elastic properties of plates with parallel cracks using the finite element method (FEM) and the boundary element method (BEM). Rectangular plates with parallel or inclined cracks to the edges of plates were considered. Different distances between cracks and different angles of cracks were studied. The displacement and traction boundary conditions were applied and their influence on the accuracy of overall properties of cracked material was analysed. The results obtained by the FEM and the BEM were compared.
