Opis:
The unit compacting pressure in the fine-grained material consolidation process in the roller press can reach >100 MPa and is a parameter that results, among other things, from the properties of the consolidated material and the compaction unit geometry. Achieving the right pressure during briquetting is one of the factors that guarantee the proper consolidation and quality of briquettes. The distribution of the temperature on the surface of the briquettes correlates with locally exerted pressure. The present work aimed to analyse the bri-quetting process of four fine-grained materials in a roller press equipped with saddle-shaped briquette-forming rollers based on images ob-tained from the thermography conducted immediately after their consolidation. The tests were carried out in a roller press that was equipped with forming rollers of 450-mm diameter and having a cavity with a volume of 4 cm3, as described by patent PL 222229 B1. Two mixtures of hydrated lime with 9.1 wt% and 13.0 wt% water, a mixture of scale and a mixture of electric arc furnace (EAF) dust were used for the tests. In most mixtures, the highest temperatures were achieved in the middle-upper part of the briquettes. The briquettes from the EAF dust mixture heated locally the most on the surface up to 37.7 °C. The difference between the maximum briquette temperature and the ambient temperature was 20.2 °C.

Opis:
Pallet flow rack are widely used in intralogistics to maximize warehouse capacity and to reduce the travel by fork-lifts. However, the use of pallet flow racks is associated with increased danger due to the use of gravity conveyors in their design. For this purpose, the gravity conveyors of pallet flow rack have a two safety elements – brake rollers and a stopping mechanism with pallet separator, which are working as a system. Brake rollers limit the speed of pallets, while the stopping mechanism allows exuding a pressure on the unloading pallet from the following behind it. A pallet should have such a speed, controlled by the brake rollers, so that it could be stopped by a stopping mechanism without damaging it. Based on the Cox impact theory, an original method for determining the allowable speed of a pallet in a pallet flow rack is proposed. The method ensures safe operation of the stopping mechanism with pallet separator and takes into account the mechanical properties and design parameters of the pallet separator stopper. A calculation example is provided for the most commonly used types of pallets – Euro pallet (1200 mm × 800 mm) and Industrial pallet (1200 mm × 1000 mm). The obtained results agree well with the pallet speed range of 0.2 to 0.3 m/s recommended by the manufacturers of pallet flow racks.

Przy współpracy firmy Harat PRD s.j. oraz Katedry Inżynierii Materiałów Budowlanych została opracowana technologia wykonywania nawierzchni drogi pod obciążenie kategorią ruchu KR1 i KR2, z wykorzystaniem betonu wibrowałowanego. W referacie przedstawiono podstawowe zasady projektowania składu takiego betonu i omówiono technologię wykonywania nawierzchni drogi, zastosowaną jesienią 2010 przy pierwszej w Polsce realizacji odcinka drogi z betonu wibrowałowanego w Miastku (woj. Pomorskie).
The technology of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) was developed in cooperation of the Harat’s PRD's s.j. and Department of Civil Engineering and Building Materials for road pavements under traffic load category KR1 and KR2. The paper presents basic design principles for the composition of roller-compacted concrete (RCC) and discusses the technology of making the road pavement, applied in autumn 2010, when Polish first implementation of a RCC took place in Miastko (Pomeranian).

Opis:
The brake roller is one of the elements for the safe operation of gravity flow pallet racks. The brake roller of the magnetic (eddy current) type magnetic brake roller (MBR) is the most promising brake type. The working principle of the MBR is based on electromagnetic induction laws, according to which the braking of a conductor moving in the magnetic field is caused by the interaction of the conductor's eddy currents with the external magnetic field. In the paper, a mathematical model of the pallet motion on an MBR was developed. The equation of motion of the pallet on the MBR was derived. The calculation results were compared with the results of experimental studies of the pallet motion velocity on the MBR. For pallet speed under “drag peak” speed, the error of the mathematical model is <7.7%, and the error starts increasing once over the “drag peak” speed. Additional investigation of the coefficient of magnetic viscosity for speeds greater than the “drag peak” speed is required.

Opis:
In this paper is proposed the mathematical description of the temperature distribution resulting from the friction between the two inking rollers (one of which is made off steel and the second one has elastic layer) in the offset printing machine. So-called in printing industry steel vibrator roller perform simultaneously rotary and reciprocating motion. This reciprocating motion is the main source of the heat generation. Using the Laplace transform method for heat conduction equations with boundary conditions taking into account the real processes taking place in the inking unit in contact area we obtained and analyzed the solution that could be useful for determination and regulation of parameters in order to decrease time of process stabilization.
