Opis:
Various materials are used in car body production which are not always possible to join by conventional joining methods such as resistance spot welding. Therefore ClinchRivet method seem to be possible alternative. The paper deals with evaluation of properties of the joints made by mechanical joining method – ClinchRivet. The joint is made with the using of a special rivet, which is pushed into the joined materials by the flat punch. Following materials were used for joining of this method: DX51D+Z and H220PD steel sheets. The ten-sile test for observing the carrying capacities and metallographicall analysis were used for the evaluation of joint properties. Some results of the tests of ClinchRivet joints were compared to the properties of the joints made by resistance spot welding.

Opis:
The paper deals with the optimization of parameters of resistance spot welding and quality analysis of welded joints made by combination of galvanized Advanced High Strength Steel and High Strength Low Alloy steel. It is an advanced material combination uti-lized in automotive industry to reduce weight of the vehicle body and consequently lowering the fuel consumption to achieve the lowest possible fuel consumption, high active and passive safety of passengers while decreasing the amount of emission. The quality of welded joints was evaluated by destructive tests and non-destructive tests. The shear tensile test according to STN 05 1122 standard was used. Some samples were prepared for metallographic analysis, where the influence of the welding parameters on the structure of welded joint and occurrence of pores in the weld metal caused by evaporation of zinc from the coating was observed.

Opis:
This paper presents results of monotonous tensile tests of 0.16” thick samples made of non-clad plates of aluminium alloy for aircraft purposes 2024-T3. Tests were performed for samples cut out from a sheet plate in two different directions: in the parallel and perpendicular direction to sheet plate rolling direction, for eight different temperature values from the range 25°C – 200°C. The tests were performed using the hydraulic-drive testing machine INSTRON 8502 equipped with thermal chamber. The analysis of results included changes of basic strength-related parameters depending on temperature. It was also observed that the intensity of Portevin-Le Châtelier [PLC) effect depends on the temperature.

Opis:
Materials other than standard and advanced high strength steels are remarkable for the thin-walled structures of the car-body in recent years in order to safety enhancement, weight and emission reduction, corrosion resistance improvement. Thus, there are presented in the paper the deformation properties of laser welded austenitic AISI 304 and ferritic AISI 430 stainless steels compared to these one measured for the high strength low alloyed steel H220PD. The properties were researched by tensile test and 3-point bending test with fixed ends on specimens made of basic material and laser welded one. The specimens were welded by solid state fiber laser YLS-5000 in longitudinal direction (the load direction). The deformation properties such as strength, stiffness and deformation work were evaluated and compared. The strength and stiffness were calculated from tensile test results and the deformation work was calculated from both, tensile test and 3-point bending test results. There has been found only minor effect of laser welding to the deformation properties for high strength low alloyed steel H220PD and austenitic stainless steel AISI 304. Otherwise, the laser welding strongly influenced the deformation work of the ferritic stainless steel AISI 430 as well as the elongation at tensile test.
