    The construction industry is considered as one of the most important sectors in Egypt. One of the major challenges faced by the industry, however, is the unavailability of suitable performance measurement systems for assessing companies’ performance. Modern performance assessment systems adopt a more universal approach to the measurement of construction company performance as opposed to the traditional project triangle. This paper aims to examine the practice of performance measurement in the Egyptian construction industry. Results show dominant role of in-house developed performance management systems as well as the use of KPIs as a method of performance assessment. The study further reveals that the highest importance is given to measures related to the time of project delivery, quality of works, clients’ satisfaction and profitability. Hence, the traditional project triangle of project’s success is the most prevalent approach to performance evaluation in the construction industry in Egypt. However, a shift towards a more holistic approach to performance assessment in larger companies was observed.

    W artykule opisano nową koncepcyjną konstrukcję mechatronicznego pozycjonera biegunowego opracowaną dla potrzeb technologii znakowania i grawerowania podpowierzchniowego szkła i innych przezroczystych dielektryków. Omówiono warunek sztywności konstrukcji pozycjonera (dla przypadku klasycznego kartezjańskiego i rozwiązania propo- nowanego – biegunowego), wpływający bezpośrednio na dokładność obróbki laserowej. W pracy wskazano również możliwe pola zastosowań opracowanej koncepcji pozycjonera biegunowego. Zaproponowana konstrukcja aparatu ruchowego pozwoli na uzyskanie nowej jakości pozycjonowania (uzyskanie efektu synergii) poprzez połączenie komputerowego sterowania z prostym mechanizmem biegunowym (parami obrotowymi), wzorowanym na konstrukcji dysku twardego komputera osobistego.
    New construction of mechatronics polar positioning system of laser device for engraving glass and other transparent dielectrics there is presented in the work. The results of analysis of stiffness Cartesian positioning system and alternative new polar positioning system are presented too. The description of the constructions of working arm and rotation table of polar positioning system is given in the paper. Possible applications of describe polar positioning system are defined. Presented in the work construction of movement device brings the new quality of positioning (a synergy effect) through connection the computer control technology with the simple polar mechanism similar to construction of computer hard drive.

    Project completion behind schedule is a struggle for the construction sector, affecting time, cost, and quality. This investigation has been necessitated by the lingering nature of project delay risks despite many extant analyses. This study collated expert opinions from the Thai construction sector on salient construction delay variables and their influence on each other for DEMATEL-SD analysis. The collated data were analysed and found consistent with a Cronbach’s alpha of 0.939. Then, the DEMATEL technique was used to establish the influence weight of factors for the System dynamics (SD) analysis. It was discovered that minimising the design error at the preconstruction stage significantly reduces the magnitude of delay. Increasing values of design error and change order increase the rework profile. Besides, the project delivery within the scheduled 232 weeks can be ensured by minimising the threat of design error, design change, change order, rework, productivity problem, and by improving project management. This study adopted a hybrid mathematical system to holistically examine the construction delay risk by comprehensively exploring the dynamics of influencing variables and investigating their impact on the project scheme. The system helps project stakeholders to arrive at an effective decision in overcoming delay risks, thus minimising the cost overrun and improving the project quality.

    Работа посвящена изучению влияния государственного регулирования системы ценообразования в строительстве в Республике Беларусь на реализацию функций цены. Обозначены проблемы государственного регулирования ценообразования и их влияние на развитие отрасли. Показана необходимость пересмотра системы формирования стоимости в строительстве, определения сметных нормативов с учетом среднеотраслевых фактических затрат на выполнение строительно-монтажных работ, переход на формирование стоимости на основании укрупненных нормативов. Рассматриваются такие понятия, как государственное регулирование ценообразования в строительстве, формирование укрупненных сметных нормативов, повышение эффективности системы ценообразования в строительстве.
    The subject of an investigation is the impact of government regulation of pricing in construction to implement value functions in the Republic of Belarus. The problems of state regulation of pricing and their influence on the industry development are defined. The need to revise the system of formation of value in construction is shown, and determining the estimated average of industry standards, taking into account the actual cost of construction and installation works, the transition to formation of cost on the basis enlarged guidelines. The concepts such as state regulation of pricing in construction, the formation of enlarged estimate standards, improving the pricing system in construction are considered.
