Opis:
This article presents a way of calibration of an unconventional two-current circuit, named 2J+2R, which consists of two current sources and two referential resistors connected to the circuit mass. This bridge was used to measure the beam deflection and the temperature increase simultaneously with the use of a pair of metal strain gauges. This paper contains theoretical and corrected (after calibration) processing characteristics of the measurement circuit. Calibration coefficients of both inputs, responsible for measurement of the measured values in the places where the strain gauges are attached, were calculated. Moreover, the standard combined and expanded uncertainties of both calibration coefficients were calculated and an uncertainty budget was made.

Opis:
This paper presents a comparative analysis of two kinematic structures of the support system (with supports with bilateral and unilateral constraints), which were used in an experimental model of a crane. The computational model was developed by using the ADAMS software. The impact of the kinematic structure of the support system on selected kinematic and dynamic values that were recorded during the slewing motion was analysed. It was found, among other things, that an increased number of degrees of freedom of the support system leads to multiple distortions of time characteristics of kinematic and dynamic quantities.

Opis:
Using the Beni Behdel dam and the El Mefrouch dam as example studies, this paper intends to clearly demonstrate how modeling of the interactions between rock foundations and dams impacts the modal behavior of these two multi-arch dams. The uniqueness of this study is that the modal behavior of each dam is represented in terms of related parameters (period, participation factor, ratio, and effective mass), and more precisely in terms of ratio (defined as the ratio between the participation factor of the mode i and the maximum participation factor), as opposed to other works that have expressed this behavior in terms of frequency. In this article, stiff rock foundation, massless rock foundation, and massed rock foundation are the three methods used to simulate dynamic interactions. The investigated dams are three-dimensionally simulated using the ANSYS finite elements code. The modeling of the rock foundation–dam interaction has an effect on the fundamental mode value, its location, and the related parameters, according to the results. Furthermore, it is found that the upstream–downstream direction is not always the most important direction for dams and that interaction modeling influences the resonance bandwidth, which affects the forecast of the resonance phenomenon.
