Opis:
Purpose: The aim of the text is to present the concepts of turquoise organizations and turquoise leadership against the background of the evolution of societies, organizations and leadership. Design/methodology/approach: The study was based on literature studies. Findings: The text summarizes and characterizes the various stages of the development of societies. The different types of organization were characterized in the model of organization by F. Laloux, paying particular attention to the turquoise organization. All the "colored" leaders are characterized in detail - from purple to turquoise. Practical implications: The basic recommendation for management practitioners who would like to create a turquoise atmosphere in their organizations is reflection on the actual and declared key values and the mission of the organization. They also have to answer the question of how much they are able to share power with their colleagues, how much are they able to trust them. It is also becoming extremely important to build emotional openness between employees and their loyalty to each other. Originality/value: The text may be of interest to both researchers on the topic of turquoise organizations and practitioners who would like to transform their organizations into modern workplaces.

Opis:
W artykule przedstawiono wyniki analizy struktur organizacyjnych turkusowych organizacji.
The article presents the results of analysis of organizational structures in turquoise organizations. It became apparent that these solutions are flexible, however characterized with a certain degree of bureaucratization which increases their complexity. It seems that they are applied in practical management only to limited extent, mainly due to the fact that they are based on a very optimistic vision of a human being, who is additionally deprived of a need to seek domination over others.

Opis:
Purpose: The main objective of this paper was to identify and determine the potential of holacracy from the point of view of new product development in the IT industry. Design/methodology/approach: The article contains a literature review on the subject of holacracy and a detailed case study analysis conducted in two IT companies which concerned the new product development process. Also, the article presents research results of a quantitative survey and results of interviews with employees that revealed key attributes of teams working in holacracy. Findings: Research results indicate that companies tend to adapt and adjust holacracy in a unique way to meet their development needs, but such approach requires a specific organizational culture and high-tech resources. Holacracy can enhance NPD process and induce self-development among holacratic development teams, which have a dozen of unique attributes in comparison to traditional teams. Agile development with holacracy is faster and more effective than standard agile development or waterfall approach. Research limitations/implications: The research results presented in the paper were based only on two IT companies which use new approaches to new product development. Therefore, more scientific research should be carried out in the future to discuss this topic further. Practical implications: The author of the article recommends that every company should evaluate its capabilities, organizational culture and technical resources before implementing holacracy. Originality/value: This paper presents and discusses a brand new approach to new product development used by modern IT companies. Holacracy is still considered as a new and innovative approach to managing organizations.

Opis:
Purpose: The purpose of this article is to attempt to demonstrate the role of Integral Theory in explaining the upcoming managerial processes in Society 5.0. Design/methodology/approach: The explanatory procedure includes both a deterministic and indeterministic approach. The authors of this paper analyze currently conducted empirical research on the functioning of organizational structures in Poland and abroad in production, services and public organizations, including the so-called third sector. Findings: Research clearly indicates the slow, but systematic evolution of the organizational structures and the principles of their functioning. The so-called self-managing employee teams are increasingly being formed. Research limitations/implications: Research seems to purposefully monitor the functioning of the organizations systems. Practical implications: By constructing and anticipating social and economic processes we have attempted to identify managerial tools that are helpful in improving managerial activities to meet the requirement of the organization due to changing external conditions. Social implications: Such a test is the concept of a teal organization as a new type of organization, appropriate for the emerging age of Society 5.0. Originality/value: The research results indicate relatively fast changes in the functioning of enterprises in the field of inter-organizational cooperation.

Opis:
The aim of this paper is to present several selected management concepts that support self-organizing teams. The chosen concepts are agile project management, teal organization, holacracy and sociocracy, and the paper places emphasis on the organizational factors in each of presented concept. Four groups of organizational factors were extracted: culture, structure, management and processes. The value of this paper is that it is a comparison of the extracted groups in the selected concepts. The outcome of this work was the discovery that the organizational culture in each of the concepts was very similar, yet, the structure supporting self-organizing teams may vary in effect, starting from the project, to the whole organization. Still, the management and processes appeared to be very similar in the teal organization, holacracy and sociocracy. Moreover, agile project management was more similar to traditional organizations. The paper emphasizes the need for further research, in particular, in companies which have adopted the presented concepts.
