Opis:
Purpose: The article concerns the phenomenon of mobbing in the workplace. Possible causes and consequences of mobbing are described, as well as the specificity of mobbing behavior. Design/methodology/approach: In order to illustrate the phenomenon of mobbing, terminological arrangements are first made. Mobbing is analyzed through the prism of both its causes and the mechanism of its emergence, as well as the anticipated consequences of its health, social and economic effects. In order to draw a picture of mobbing in Polish companies, an in-house study was conducted. They were of a pilot nature, and only selected results are included in the paper. The survey was conducted in 2021 among employees of West Pomeranian Companies. The research method used to achieve the stated goal was a diagnostic survey, while the research tool used within this method was a standardized interview questionnaire. The study also used secondary data taken from public statistics, thematic reports and academic research. Findings: Research was conducted to determine the nature of mobbing activities. Primary data indicate that these behaviors tend to increase, while the conducted research indicates that there may be some problems related to the lack of openness in talking about this type of behavior for fear of negative consequences. Originality/value: Mobbing is a phenomenon that relatively rarely becomes the subject of research. There are many difficulties, both methodological and technical, in assessing this phenomenon. The paper analyzes this phenomenon in the context of behaviors encountered in Polish companies bearing the hallmarks of mobbing. The article is addressed to employees in order to make them aware of the dangers of mobbing at work, but also to managers in order to improve psychosocial factors in organizations.

Introduction/background: Researchers have indicated that organizational change may indirectly affect workplace bullying. In the case of employees undergoing organizational change, the same stressors might be experienced only by new employees. Aim of the paper: The aim of the article is to identify whether work experience in the organization intensifies subjective perception of bullying in the process of instrumental communication and receiving negative feedback. Materials and methods: Relational and phenomenological methods were applied. Multi-phase mixed methods research included; shadowing, participant observation, discourse analysis, semi structured interviews, oral history interviews. Qualitative data (n = 67) gathered in the first stage in longitudinal studies was transformed into a questionnaire used in quantitative research (n = 267) in the second research stage. Results and conclusions: The findings indicate that improper conditions for decision realization, inadequate individualization of instructions and poor feedback intensify the subjective experience of bullying. Perceived bullying in the process of instrumental communication decreases with longer work experience within the given organization and not with overall work experience.

Purpose: The paper discusses a comprehensive approach to the phenomenon of mobbing within an organization. It shows its characteristics and the causes of this negative phenomenon in an enterprise. It presents the profile of both a mobber and a victim of mobbing. It outlines the course of mobbing, the tactics used in the process and its effects. Design/methodology/approach: Literature research of the subject was carried out. Findings: It also indicates the methods of mobbing prevention, with particular emphasis on the broadly understood prophylaxis, both on the level of organization and the employee. Research limitations/implications: (not applicable) Practical implications: Managerial staff should also develop (or delegate this task to HR or PR department) a program of anti-mobbing activities, taking into account the nature of the organization, improve their qualifications on the management of ethical conflicts, and promote ethical behaviour in the enterprise or institution: promote good practices, appreciate positive behaviour and strongly condemn unethical behaviour. Social implications: Mobbing is a phenomenon that has existed for a long time, but in recent years, in countries where human rights are respected, it was decided to fight this pathology. Originality/value: Mobbing prevention in an enterprise must be a systemic action. First and foremost, it concerns the employer, who should introduce anti-mobbing procedures and immediately react to unacceptable behaviour in the workplace. Employees can also protect themselves from mobbing.
