Opis:: Podstawowe działania ukierunkowane na zmniejszenie ilości odpadów składowanych to w szczególności: wstępna obróbka odpadów zbieranych selektywnie, gospodarcze wykorzystanie odpadów, odzysk i recykling, unieszkodliwianie (biologiczne, chemiczne, mechaniczne, termiczne, deponowanie pozostałości). Skuteczność realizacji tych działań zależy od istnienia i możliwości stosowania odpowiednich narzędzi prawnych, administracyjnych, ekonomicznych, organizacyjnych oraz systemów kontroli i monitoringu. Realizacja działań powinna zapewnić osiągnięcie podstawowych celów zarządzania logistycznego, tj.: dostarczenie odpowiednich odpadów ze „źródła odpadu”, w odpowiedniej ilości, w odpowiednim czasie, w odpowiednie miejsce (obiekty gospodarki odpadami, stacje przeładunkowe), odpowiedniemu klientowi (użytkownik odpadów lub wyrobów z odpadów), zachowując odpowiednią jakość odpadów lub wyrobów z odpadów, przy odpowiednim koszcie, pod warunkiem zachowania wszystkich wymogów dotyczących ochrony i kształtowania środowiska oraz planowania przestrzennego, przy uwzględnieniu potrzeb regionu i kraju (wykorzystanie surowcowe).
Key actions aimed to reduce the amount of waste which is landfilled are in particular: pre-treatment of waste collected selectively, the economic use of waste, recovery and recycling, disposal (biological, chemical, mechanical, thermal, depositing residue). The efficiency of implementation of these actions depends on the existence and possible application of the relevant tools: legal, administrative, economic, organizational, and systems of control and monitoring. Implementation of the measures should ensure the achievement of fundamental objectives of logistics management, namely: to provide adequate waste from the “source of waste”, in sufficient quantity, at the right time, to the appropriate place (waste facilities, transfer station), to the appropriate client (user of the waste or waste products), maintaining the quality of the waste or waste products, with the right cost – provided that all requirements for the protection and development of environment and spatial planning, taking into account the needs of the region and country (use of raw materials).

Opis:: The convergence of logistics megatrends, including transformations in logistics models, the growing influence of modern, innovative and intelligent technologies, the use of ICT technology and global competition (e-trade and e-purchasing development, mobile services expansion) have led to a new concept known as the “Intelligent Enterprise”. This concept is a relatively young field in modern business management. As physical assets are given a digital voice, the Intelligent Enterprise allows businesses to run operations more efficiently and make better decisions with improved real-time visibility. Achieving greater enterprise asset intelligence offers businesses a sense of what is happening in their operations, provides them with a way to quickly analyse the information and gives them a platform to act on it to reach higher levels of growth, productivity and service. The aim of the paper is to describe of the concept of an Intelligent Enterprise and provide the specification of its characteristics. The objective is to be achieved through analysing the author's surveys results carried out in 2018. The studies were conducted on a group of 80 people – managers in manufacturing companies responsible for supply chains management.

W artykule przedstawiono wyniki badań Katedry Logistyki i Marketingu Uniwersytetu Opolskiego przeprowadzonych w latach 2009-2011, w ramach projektu badawczego pt. „Logistyczne determinanty zarządzania przedsiębiorstwami”. Przedmiotem badań były m.in. kompetencje menedżerów ds. logistyki, związane z procesami i zadaniami realizowanymi przez tych menedżerów w przedsiębiorstwie, a także kompetencje logistyki związane z wdrażaniem koncepcji logistyki w zarządzaniu przedsiębiorstwem.
In recent years, within business management instruments one may notice the growing importance of instruments related to the area of logistics. A very special role is assigned to logistics concept, which may be an important determinant of changes in business management. The paper presents the results of the research project named “Logistics determinants of business management”, carried out from 2009 to 2011 by the Chair of Logistics and Marketing at Opole University, Poland. The subject of the study was, among others, competencies of logistics managers, related to the processes and tasks performed by these managers in the company, as well as logistics competences related to logistics concept implementation within business management.

Opis:: Artykuł opracowany został w oparciu o wyniki badań własnych, przeprowadzonych na próbie 147 przedsiębiorstw zarobkowego transportu samochodowego ładunków na terenie województwa śląskiego. Wielowymiarowa sfera obsługi klienta w zarządzaniu logistyką ankietowanych podmiotów rozważana była w odniesieniu do postrzegania idei obsługi klienta przedsiębiorstw, przez ustalenie definicji pojęcia oraz realizowanych elementów fazy przedtransakcyjnej. Na bazie zgromadzonych danych pierwotnych podjęto także próbę zbadania zależności przywołanych obszarów logistycznej obsługi klienta od wielkości badanych podmiotów.
The article is based on the results of own research carried out on a sample of 147 enterprises of motor transport of goods in the Silesian Voivodeship. The multidimensional sphere of customer service in the logistics management of surveyed entities was considered in relation to the perception of enterprise customer service concepts, by establishing the definition of the concept and the elements of the pre-transaction phase. On the basis of collected primary data, an attempt was also made to investigate the dependence of the mentioned logistic customer service areas on the size of the examined entities.

The publication was presented issues concerning the evolution of the management of sea ports, leading to the transformation of many of them from traditional transport nodes, handling cargo in the land-sea relationship and characterized by low value-added, to the sea-land logistics platform that generate high value-added logistics. This evolution began in the mid-twentieth century. And continues today by forcing redefinition of the concept of "sea port" and immediate question raised whether the management of the seaport is not a new paradigm in the management sciences.

Opis:: The rate of growth in terms of the changes of dynamics in logistics is due to the development in services, including physical, information and financial flows, important for the entities of numerous economic sectors. The contemporary logistics not only has to catch up with the current changes, but also, in many cases, it must get ahead of them, meeting the expectations of its clients. A constant element of the logistics activity should be both the investigation and forecasting of the changes. A growing complexity of business processes in the globalised economy, based on knowledge in the business environment with complex corporate relations, makes the managers support the decision-making processes using state-of-the-art information technology (IT) tools. An essential supporting role is fulfilled by the integrated management systems, ensuring a cohesion and control of the internal and external processes performance in the enterprise operation. The article aims at presenting the role of integrated management systems, considered as tools supporting business logistics processes. It demonstrates the specificity of the operation of a selected economic organization, which makes the management apply unitary measures. With the development of integrated systems in mind - and using the example of the case study - the solutions were demonstrated, the aim of which is to effectively support the management of purchases, supplies and maintenance within the department in the enterprise under study, especially the logistics processes. An essential element of the research is the role of innovativeness in the logistics development, including the implementation of the latest teleinformation technology solutions.

Opis:: W artykule przeanalizowano cele logistyki produkcji, obszary działalności logistyki powiązane z produkcją, zidentyfikowano procesy logistyczne w produkcji. Wykazano, że czasy realizacji są indykatorem działalności logistycznej w produkcji. Omówiono koncepcję budowy strategii przedsiębiorstwa produkcyjnego zorientowanego na logistykę na podstawie koniecznej redukcji kompleksowości, „usieciowienia” struktur organizacyjnych, ustrukturyzowana sieć procesów logistycznych produkcji i jako alternatywy w formułowaniu strategii. Przeanalizowano implikacje tzw. trójkąta logistycznego dla formułowania strategii zarządzania produkcją. Artykuł zakończono wnioskami.
In the article purposes of the production logistics were analyzed, areas of activity of the logistics connected with the production, logistic processes were identified in the production. They demonstrated, around times of courses are an indicator of logistic activity in the production. A concept was discussed of structure of the strategy of the manufacturing company orientated to the logistics based on the necessary reduction in the complexity, "networking" of organizational structures, structured to cut logistic processes of the production as the alternative in the strategy formulation. implications of the so-called logistic triangle were analyzed for the strategy formulation of the production management. The article was finished with conclusions.

Artykuł ma charakter teoretyczno-metodyczny, a do jego przygotowania wykorzystano metodę krytycznej analizy literatury przedmiotu.
Logistics processes support the basic business processes and they are subject to improvement. Improving logistics processes can have the character of ongoing improvements and/or major changes. The last ones are introduced with the help of the projects. Consequently in the improvement of logistics business processes at the same time the concepts of project management, process management and quality management can be used. It is indicated to use them combined which in practice encounters all sorts of restrictions and barriers. This article will present the symptoms and consequences of a lack of these concepts coordination in the logistic business processes improvement and the possible ways to prevent this. The article has a theoretical-methodological character and its preparation has been based on the critical analysis of the subject literature method.

It presents the theoretical aspects of logistics supply chain strategies in contemporary market conditions. A research methodology has been described and a brief description of the studied population has been made. The results of the research concerning logistics supply chain strategies used in practice by the surveyed enterprises has been presented and an attempt to assess the influence of logistics supply chain strategies on the results of enterprises implementing them and creating a supply chain has been made. Design/methodology/approach: The article is based on the study of literature and own empirical research. The results of author’s own empirical research presented in the article come from more extensive studies concerning the analysis of logistics systems and logistics process management of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises in the years 2014-2016 in the context of building the competitiveness of enterprises. The research was conducted in 2017 by face-to-face interviews with managers responsible for logistics in the surveyed companies using a questionnaire. 298 manufacturing and trading enterprises from north-eastern Poland were examined (55.4% from the Warmia-Masuria Province and 44.6% from the Podlasie Province), characterized by a diversified competitive position on the market. Findings: Contemporary manufacturing and trading enterprises can use logistics both as a main element to achieve the intended competitive position and as an element to strengthen the adopted by the company method to achieve the intended competitive position. The conducted studies confirmed that the implementation of the adequate to the conditions logistics supply chain strategy allows the enterprise to increase the adjustment of operations to requirements and expectations of customers, respond properly to market challenges, achieve the set goals, implement innovations, increase sales revenues with the same or better financial liquidity than competitors’, reduce costs and reduce capital involvement, and consequently, achieve the competitive advantage and intended competitive position of enterprises creating the supply chain. The most frequently implemented logistics strategy in the best enterprises was the supply chain management strategy. In the majority of the best enterprises, an emergent logistics strategy was implemented, which was in a constant stage of creation and development, and was characterized by a quick response to changing customer requirements, environmental conditions and competitors’ activities. Research limitations/implications: More and more logistics managers manage logistics processes on the scale of the enterprise and the entire supply chain. Creating and implementing a logistics strategy in the supply chain is a very complex process. The article presents only selected aspects of logistics supply chain strategies. The issue of logistics supply chain strategies requires further, in-depth research. Practical implications: The article proposes logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises practical suggestions for using logistics supply chain strategies to achieve the intended competitive advantage. Originality/value: The article fills a cognitive gap regarding logistics supply chain strategies. An extensive review of the literature on logistics supply chain strategies in contemporary market conditions has been made. The article also fills an empirical gap. It presents the results of studies concerning selected aspects of logistics supply chain strategies used in practice by the surveyed manufacturing and trading enterprises. The research results presented in the article can be used by logistics managers of Polish manufacturing and trading enterprises.

Opis:: Introduction/background: This paper presents the possibilities offered by ABC analysis by number of releases for solving complex problems in the area under study. The use of appropriate inventory management methods makes it possible to support decisions on flows in the company's logistics system. This contributes to quick action leading to the optimisation or transformation of ongoing logistics processes and the reduction of the associated risks. Aim of the paper: The aim of the article is to present the dysfunctions in the area of inventory management in a selected company, to identify their negative impact on the implemented processes and to propose corrective actions. In addition, the importance of inventory, problems and challenges of the company based on the storage of goods is highlighted. An evaluation and recommendation of the described company is also made Materials and methods: A literature study was carried out to identify key dysfunctions in the area of stock management. In addition, a detailed analysis of stock levels and their management in the warehouse of the company "GUSPOL" was carried out using the ABC method. Results and conclusions: Based on the data provided by the company, an ABC analysis was carried out. Thanks to this, each assortment item was characterised and assigned to the corresponding ABC group. A change to the conceptual design of the warehouse was proposed, involving a change in the storage locations of the technical gas cylinders and the addition of shelving, making the floor space more functional and employee-friendly.
