Opis:
Effective management of an online store requires learning about the behavior of its customers. This is possible thanks to the analysis of data provided by users. E-commerce systems and integrated tools provide more and more information about users, which raises problems regarding the selection of data for analysis that support decision-making processes. Hence the need to extract the most important information and build a customized indicator system. Theoretical considerations on the characterization of key performance indicators were undertaken in the paper. In order to identify them in e-commerce, key success factors for the purchasing process were proposed. Particular attention has been paid to methods that can positively influence the indications of key performance indicators. The aim of the article is to propose the key performance indicators (KPI) for the assessment of the purchasing process in e-commerce systems.
Skuteczne zarządzanie sklepem internetowym wymaga poznania zachowania jego klientów. Jest to możliwe dzięki analizie danych, które dostarczają użytkownicy. Systemy e-commerce oraz zintegrowane narzędzia dostarczają coraz więcej informacji o użytkownikach, co rodzi problemy dotyczące wyboru danych do analizy, które wspomagają procesy decyzyjne. Stąd potrzeba wyodrębnienia najważniejszych informacji i zbudowania dostosowanego systemu wskaźników. W pracy podjęto teoretyczne rozważania na temat charakterystyki kluczowych wskaźników efektywności. W celu ich identyfikacji w e-commerce zaproponowano kluczowe czynniki sukcesu dla procesu zakupowego. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na metody, które mogą pozytywnie wpłynąć na wskazania kluczowych wskaźników efektywności. Celem artykułu jest zaproponowanie wybranych, kluczowych wskaźników efektywności (KPI) dla oceny procesu zakupowego w systemach e-commerce.

W artykule dokonano przeglądu dokumentów niewiążących prawnie, określających strategię rozwoju innowacji w Europie oraz analizy prawnych aspektów rozwoju innowacji w Polsce. Zwrócono uwagę na inicjatywy o charakterze prawnym wspierające działalność innowacyjną, w tym w zakresie kluczowych technologii wspomagających (KET). Unia Europejska uznała technologie KET za priorytetowe źródło innowacji, co znalazło swoje odzwierciedlenie w nowym programie UE Horyzont 2020 oraz polityce spójności na lata 2014-2020.
This article analyzes the legal aspects of the development of innovation in Poland and the review of the strategy documents in innovation aspects in Europe. Described the legal innovation initiative in Poland, including key enabling technologies (KET). The European Union recognized KET technologies as a priority source of innovation, as reflected in the new EU Horizon 2020 and Cohesion Policy for 2014-2020.

W artykule przedstawiono osiem kompetencji zdefiniowanych w dokumencie „Kluczowe kompetencje w uczeniu się przez całe życie. Europejskie ramy odniesienia”. Szczegółowo zaprezentowano kompetencję przedsiębiorczości; opisano niezbędną wiedzę, umiejętności i postawy powiązane z tą kompetencją. Wskazano na problemy dotyczące edukacji przedsiębiorczości w Polsce, a także zwrócono uwagę na znaczenie zagadnień etycznych w biznesie. Na koniec dokonano przeglądu definicji przedsiębiorczości w polskich podręcznikach szkolnych.
The article presents eight competencies defined in a document “Key competences for lifelong learning – a European reference framework”. It also specifies the competence of entrepreneurship, describes necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes related to this competence. The article indicates the problems of education of entrepreneurship in Poland as well as the importance of awareness of ethical values in business. Finally, it gives the examples of definitions of entrepreneurship in Polish schoolbooks.

The aim of the herein paper is to present the trends of the development of the Key National Clusters. In this paper, analysis has been carried out on the criteria of the selection of the key national clusters. Over the past few years in Poland the rapid development of clusters has been observed. This is possible thanks to the EU and government support. Together with the increase in demand for innovative economic solutions, the number of clusters is also growing, while simultaneously the preparation of criteria for their evaluation is essential. Cluster initiatives are of particular value for local self-governing units and support the development of entire regions.

Businesses need ongoing access to current information about the extent to which the goals they assumed have been accomplished. Considerable support in this respect may be obtained by applying key performance indicators which play an increasingly important role in furnishing businesses with the required information. This article provides an analysis of key performance indicators defined for the production process and applied by an anonymous manufacturer of home appliances.

Purpose: The aim of this article is to present the results of research aimed at identifying the most frequent risk factors of IT projects managed using the agile approach to project management. Design/methodology/approach: The research was conducted by means of in-depth structured interviews, on a sample of 111 project managers, leaders and project team members. The research included identification of risk factors and their assessment during project planning, as well as the most frequent risk factors in an agile-managed project. Findings: While carrying out a critical analysis of the literature, it can be observed that in the majority of publications concerning risk in projects managed in the agile way, the human factor is strongly underestimated, often excessively favouring procedures. However, when analysing the risk factors arising in IT projects managed in the agile way, except for the technology, equipment, system, or even the project schedule and cost, the project team is strongly accentuated. Research limitations/implications: The article presented recommendations to conduct supplementary research concerning the assessment of risk factors directly resulting from the specific nature of IT projects and the application of agile methodology to project management in terms of project team work organisation as well as potential project stakeholder groups. Originality/value: Software companies are one of the typical industries in which project management and the concept of teamwork are applied and the functioning of these teams is the dominant form of work organisation.

Purpose: The aim of the paper is to present a case of effective application of the indicator analysis to assess and improve the process of installing a fiber optic Internet network installation at the customer’s site. The processes carried out outside the company’s headquarters, in particular their limited possibility of supervision and direct contact with the customer, cause these processes to require a special approach to management. Design / methodology / approach: The assessment of the installation process was carried out by means of the indicator analysis. The key indicators and their target values were obtained on the basis of research conducted in one of the telecommunications companies. The assessment of the quality and efficiency of the process and the effectiveness of improvement actions was based on observations and analysis of data from the company’s reports from 2017 and 2019. The theoretical scope of the work concerns methods of improving the quality and efficiency of manufacturing processes. Findings: The research process identified a set of indicators that can be used to assess the process of installation of systems in the examined company or similar ones. The quality and efficiency of the analyzed process was evaluated. The key factors determining these process properties were identified, owing to which it was possible to determine the necessary improvement actions to be implemented in the examined organization. A comparative analysis was conducted to assess the effectiveness of the implemented solutions. Practical implications: The study allowed to broaden the knowledge about the analyzed process in terms of methods of its measurement and factors having a decisive influence on its quality and efficiency. The process under analysis has been effectively improved. Originality / value: Application of the indicator analysis to a process with limited supervisory capabilities, key impact on customer satisfaction and business costs. The paper is addressed to the managerial staff of telecommunications companies involved in the installation of Internet network systems outside the company’s headquarters. The paper contains identified indicators of the assembly process and factors, mainly organizational ones, affecting its characteristics.

Purpose: identification and quantification of the factors influencing success of the joint project carried out by a scientific and industrial consortium. Design/methodology/approach: this paper presents results of mixed research involving preliminary qualitative research in the form of unstructured interviews with project managers implemented as part of scientific and industrial consortia, and then quantitative research conducted with the use of a questionnaire among representatives of companies from the group of this type of consortia. Findings: the result of conducted research is the identification of key factors for the success of initiatives carried out by scientific and industrial consortia from the point of view of enterprises. Research limitations/implications: research results will be used to better understand the factors determining success of projects implemented as part of cooperation between private enterprises and public universities. The next stage of research should include assessment of factors from the point of view of public universities participating in the joint implementation of projects by scientific and industrial consortia. Practical implications: research results will contribute to an increase in the absorption capacity of consortia consisting of private enterprises and public universities, additionally will increase the percentage of successful projects and may result in the intensification of work aimed at obtaining funds and joint implementation of projects. Social implications: research results may contribute to greater interest in the implementation of research and development projects by scientific and industrial consortia, which will result in the transfer of modern solutions from the world of science to industry, allowing for specific economic and social benefits. Originality/value: developing a map of key success factors for projects implemented by scientific and industrial consortia from the point of view of companies participating in their implementation.

Opis:
Purpose: Empirical studies concerning determinants which the amount of the fees for auditing a financial statement depends on are undertaken in the international literature. The review of the previous studies allowed the authors to distinguish three main groups of such factors. They concentrate around the character of a client, a category of an auditor who audits an entity and engagement in the auditing proces. This paper aims to determine the factors that influence the amount of an audit fee in European mining companies. Design/methodology/approach: The auditors’ reports for 2019 were analysed. The authors formulated the main hypotheses according to which the amount of an audit fee for a financial statement of listed mining sector companies depends on the factors specific to an audited entity (H1), a category of an auditor (H2) and complexity of the process of the audit of a financial statement (H3). The collected data were a basis to construct the model of linear regression. Findings: The results of the study carried out proved a strong statistically important relation between an audit fee for a financial statement and a size of an auditee expressed in a natural logarithm of the total assets. The essential relations were also confirmed between an audit fee for a financial statement and profitability of assets of audited companies, a category of an auditor and a number of Key Audit Matters verified during the audit and disclosed in the report by an statutory auditor. Furthermore, a relation between the amount of an audit fee for a financial statement and power of standards of reporting and auditing in a given country was confirmed. Research limitations/implications: On the one hand, the acceptance of a research sample narrowed down to the listed companies, doing business exclusively in the mining sector is an added value of the empirical research carried out, which enabled drawing conclusions for the chosen branch. On the other hand, the small research value limits the study. Practical implications: Our paper has some practical implications. The obtained results enable a comparison with the results of the previous empirical research and an evaluation of the determinants of the amount of audit fees of financial statements in the mining sector with other branches.

The aim of the article is to present the possibilities of using selected optimization methods to planning accommodation in spa establishments. Therefore, two methods of solving problems in the field of linear programming were used. The first is the north-west angle method, and the second is the Vogel's approximation method. The methods used so far in logistics in the field of planning a production program can be effectively used also in spa services and improving the efficiency of business models of spa enterprises.

Purpose: The purpose of the study was to show the importance of measuring the effects of the execution of personnel processes within the framework of personnel function management in manufacturing enterprises. Design/methodology/approach: The development of the article required a critical analysis of the literature on the subject. A literature study of scientific publications, a survey, and face-to 16 face interviews were performed. Findings: Thanks to the realization of the survey it was found that, despite such high awareness of the importance and effectiveness of the use of KPIs, only less than 28% of the respondents declared the use of HR function measurements in a systematic way, and only 53% use only a few indicators, in an active way and not fully coordinated. Research limitations/implications: Future directions of activities will concern the realization of research in another research group (increased number of analyzed production and service enterprises) from the area of the southern part of Poland and the comparative analysis of obtained results. The limitation of the research may be the unwillingness of enterprises to cooperate. Practical implications: The results of the study indicate the possibility and at the same time recommend the implementation of KPIs for monitoring the effectiveness of development processes in enterprises. The obtained results will contribute to the implication of more KPIs and thus increase the level of effective management. Originality/value: Filling the research gap in the field of measuring the effects of personnel function with the use of selected KPIs. The study is addressed to the management staff of enterprises.

The article presents a description of two methodologies for the selection of measures in order to create a system for reporting key performance indicators in the enterprise. The stages of implementing KPIs have been described after having characterized them in advance and in which areas they should be developed. Indicates the reference of indicators with critical success factors and the implemented strategy of the organization.

Purpose: The aim of the research is to show how effective the tools in the form of extracurricular forms of education oriented at development of key competences. Design/methodology/approach: The article presents case study of investment in key competences of school-age children. The results of evaluation studies compliment the experience of chosen out-od-school educational projects conducted in the district mostly active in the field of initiative realization. The author also mentions a problem of considering and fulfilling children’s special educational needs. Findings: In the educational projects implemented in Pomeranian Voivodeship, the main emphasis was placed on the development of key competences, mostly students, and to a lesser extent - teachers. The interest in particular competences varied (39-95%). Similarly, the effects of undertaken measures were assessed as their impact on the attitudes of students in selected areas. Research limitations/implications: Too little attention paid to the special needs of pupils. Evaluation of effectiveness referred to the influence of particular forms of stimulation on the student's attitude in selected aspects. It was impossible to clearly attribute the impact of the investment on the results of exams summarizing a given stage of learning. Practical implications: The results of the research can be used to change the guidelines for constructing further support programmes for educational projects. This refers to technical guidelines, i.e. the formula for verifying the effects and the substantive ones, i.e. The scope of support for schools and students. Social implications: The work points to the need to implement solutions allowing for greater social inclusion of children with special news, including work on social awareness in this area. Originality/value The article attempts to assess the effectiveness of investing in the development of human capital at the stage of school education through extracurricular educational projects. The analysis was multi-level, from the European background, through the regional approach in Poland, to case studies in selected local governments. The results of the research may serve to construct further pro-educational projects in the region.

Dokonano analizy obszarów w których podjęto działania operacyjne i strategiczne mające na celu zwiększenie wolumenów produkcyjnych i wykorzystania maszyn oraz zmniejszenia zużycia paliw i energii.
The article presents a case study for a production plant in which the level of efficiency was increased in 2008-2014. An analysis was made of the areas in which operational and strategic actions were taken to increase production volumes and use of machines as well as to reduce fuel and energy consumption.
