    W referacie za cel przyjęto poznanie i ocenę efektywności zarządzania zasobami niematerialnymi w przedsiębiorstwie inteligentnym. Całość prezentowanych rozważań podzielono na dwie zasadnicze części. Rozważania zaprezentowane w części pierwszej charakteryzują modele pomiaru zasobów niematerialnych w przedsiębiorstwach. Druga część opracowania jest prezentacją wyników badań empirycznych w zakresie oceny efektywności zarządzania zasobami niematerialnymi za pomocą modelu intelektualnej wartości dodanej. Zastosowanymi metodami badawczymi są: studia literaturowe, analiza opisowa oraz analiza trendu modelu VAIC™. Problematyka pomiaru i oceny zasobów niematerialnych jest ważna i aktualna z uwagi na jej wpływ na efektywność zarządzania w przedsiębiorstwach inteligentnych.
    The objective of the paper is to explore and assess the efficiency of management of intangible resources in a smart enterprise. The whole of the presented considerations has been divided into two basic parts. The considerations discussed in the first part characterize the models of measurement of intangible resources in enterprises. The other part of the paper is the presentation of the results of the empirical research highlighting the assessment of efficiency of management of intangible resources using the model of intellectual value added. The applied research methods are literature studies, descriptive analysis and trend analysis of the VAIC™ model. The problem of the measurement and assessment of intangible resources is important and up-to-date on account of its impact on efficiency of management in smart enterprises.

    Enterprises operate in a dynamically changing environment in which uncertainty prevails, and therefore there is a growing need for risk management. The purpose of the article is to identify the methods for assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management in enterprises and the determinants of the effectiveness and efficiency of risk management systems. The article presents the main assumptions and results of contemporary research on risk management systems based on literature studies.

    Every year, the dynamics of implementation of projects aimed at improving the efficiency of energy use is gradually increasing at different levels and in different industries. It has spread in the areas of design, modernization and reconstruction of energy-efficient buildings and structures, design and construction of elements of industrial infrastructure, and technological production processes. Introduction of such projects is a priority for enterprises and companies of various types of economic activity. Thus, the leading industries develop strategies to improve environmental safety and energy efficiency - shipping is no exception, where the process of improving energy efficiency is carried out through various mechanisms, ultimately leading to a reduction in emissions of pollutants, but having a negative impact on the performance of the commercial operation of the ship. Problems of ensuring energy efficiency along with increasing requirements for environmental safety of transport and strengthening the responsibility of shipowners become the focus of research of modern theory and practice of operation of means of maritime transport. The issues of improvement of universal principles of energy efficiency within individual shipping companies and development of tools for economic analysis of energy efficiency of own fleet, search for new ways of forming professional competencies of ship crew members in the field of energy efficiency continue to be topical as well.

    Purpose: The purpose of including the following analysis was the problem diagnosed in a manufacturing company with hydraulic technology in the aspect of the growing number of hydraulic connected complaints. Therefore, a decision was made to analyze in detail the problem encountered with the available methods and tools. Design/methodology/approach: The study presents a literature approach to issues related to the effectiveness of the production process and the characteristics of the principles, methods, tools and techniques of quality management, as well as the practical application of the 5 WHY tool, based on a production enterprise from the hydraulic industry. Findings: The analysis carried out noticed problem using the Five Whys tool on the basis of data from a manufacturing enterprise from the hydraulic industry, as well as the created summaries of reasons for both quantitative and qualitative complaints in 2016 and 2017 enabled the identification of the main source of the diagnosed problem in the form of too many corroded hydraulic components in 2017 and the formulating of necessary recommendations to eliminate the above mentioned disadvantages of finished products for the enterprise. Practical implications: The introduced changes in the company from the hydraulic industry will significantly facilitate and improve the identification of defective products that should ultimately not reach the enterprise's customers. Originality/value: Formulating practical conclusions on using quality management tools in the aspect of the assessment of the effectiveness of the enterprise production process in the hydraulic industry.

    Information and communications technology (ICT) in the recent times has become a viable strategic policy option adopted by many businesses in order to compete favourably in a competitive and dynamic ICT driven market. This strategic move by business organizations is being hindered by some challenges which has invariably reduced the benefits accruable from ICT deployment for business operations especially in the inventory management. The paper identified challenges facing the use of ICT for inventory management by firms in the Nigerian Brewery industry. Other objectives of the paper are to x-ray how these challenges had impacted on the inventory management in the Nigerian Brewery industry, the effect of these challenges on customers' satisfaction, relationship between these challenges and inventory costs incurred by firms in the industry, and to suggest appropriate solutions. Primary data formed the methodology of the study. It was established during the field survey that challenges facing the use of ICT had impacted negatively on the performance of inventory management in the Nigerian brewery industry during the period under study. It was also revealed that the cost of software was a major challenge in the industry and that the identified challenges had significant effect on customers' satisfaction of the firms in the Nigerian brewery industry.

    The aim of this publication was the analyze of the standard PN-EN ISO 50001:2012 as a comprehensive energy management system tool for organizations. This standard provides guidance the advisability of integrating energy efficiency with existing management practices, environmental requirements and the law of the Member States. In addition, it introduces the principle of continuous improvement of energy management process based on PDCA cycle. The test method used is a review of the available literature on the subject.

    Ostatnie dekady badań przyniosły liczne dowody na to, że wysoce efektywne systemy pracy (High Performance Work System, HPWS) mogą być kluczowym czynnikiem decydującym o wzroście organizacji i jej efektywności. Model HPWS wynika z menedżerskiej perspektywy nastawionej na zwiększenie efektywności poprzez transformację relacji pracodawca-pracownik w partnerski układ, w ramach wspólnej realizacji celów organizacji. Do osiągnięcia takiej relacji niezbędne jest zastosowanie narzędzi z zakresu zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi na podstawie strategii zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zaprezentowanie praktyk zarządzania zasobami ludzkimi charakterystycznych dla modelu HPWS, a także warunków skutecznej implementacji wysoce efektywnego systemu pracy w organizacji.
    Research in recent decades has given ample evidence that High Performance Work System (HPWS) may be a key factor in the development of the organization, and increasing its efficiency. The HPWS model is focused on increasing efficiency through the transformation of employer-employee relations into the partnership arrangement under the common pursue of organization’s objectives. In order to achieve such a relationship it is necessary to use the tools of HRM that strengthen employee commitment. The aim of the study is to show the HRM practices related to HPWS and discuss their implementation in the organization based on the available literature.
