Opis:
This paper is focused on area identification to find a proper location for the specific port logistic center in a certain territory by applying the particular method of operational research. Graph theory offers a useful tool for solving such problems in transportation infrastructure development. The type of the network optimization technique depends on problem definition. In the first chapter, we have explained some of the algorithms often applied for similar purposes. In this case, the focus is on Minimum Spanning Three algorithm. Based on well-known Prim’s and Kruskal’s algorithms, some modifications are introduced, to improve the processing speed and memory consumption. The next four chapters describe individual parameters, perspectives, requirements, and financing details for building new combined transport terminals as well as a planned port logistics center. The subsequent, the most important, chapter presents the model example for specifying the proper location of a given port logistics center when using the method of operational research.

Silesia agglomeration has a lot of advantages which predispose it to the possibility of creating a Silesian Global Logistics Operator. Transportation system, the human and economic potential of the Upper Silesia region allow the use of these factors in order to stimulate and harmonization logistics investments. The current state of investment in logistics centers and logistics centers already operating and also storage complexes with large area have been presented in this article.

Opis:
On the base of relevant literature study and own investigations there were presented problems of knowledge centers creation to serve regional development for needs of challenges facing climate change, agriculture, food safety and environment protection in a context of objectives of bioeconomy and sustainable development. There was demonstrated that worked out models, tools and the data bases being results of cooperation of several EU and non-EU research centers are useful to forecast and prevent and also mitigate not desirable phenomena and processes what can influence positively on growth in competitiveness and development of regions, including kujawsko-pomorskie and what can be contribution to their more sustainable development. The findings can help decrease emission of greenhouse gases, more precisely provide extreme weather events to decrease drastic effects of food supply change because of droughts and floods. Currently there is a necessity of conducting of transregional sustainable development policy results in a huge space scale of phenomena and processes occurred in continental and global scale like climate changes. Simultaneously, there was proven that coordinated actions of scientific and research centers let work out more updated methods and more comprehensive solutions of signaled problem. On the other hand such form of inter-organization cooperation creates threatens e.g. communication troubles of specialist represented different scientific areas and disciplines or poor interpersonal relations.
Na podstawie studium literatury przedmiotu i badań własnych w artykule zaprezentowano problematykę tworzenia centrów wiedzy służących rozwojowi regionalnemu dla potrzeb pokonywania wyzwań związanych ze zmianami klimatycznymi, rolnictwem, bezpieczeństwem żywnościowym oraz ochroną środowiska w kontekście celów biogospodarki oraz rozwoju zrównoważonego. Wykazano, że opracowane modele, narzędzia i bazy danych w wyniku współpracy wielu ośrodków badawczych w Unii Europejskiej i poza nią są przydatne do prognozowania i zapobiegania oraz łagodzenia niekorzystnych zjawisk i procesów, co może wpłynąć pozytywnie na wzrost konkurencyjności i rozwój regionów; w tym kujawsko-pomorskiego, przyczyniając się do ich bardziej zrównoważonego rozwoju. Wyniki uzyskanych badań mogą pomóc obniżyć emisję gazów cieplarnianych, precyzyjniej przewidywać ekstremalne zjawiska pogodowe w celu np. zmniejszania efektów drastycznych zmian podaży żywności wskutek suszy czy powodzi. Obecnie istnieje konieczność prowadzenia ponadregionalnej polityki zrównoważonego rozwoju wynika z wielkiej skali przestrzennej zjawisk i procesów występujących w skali kontynentalnej i globalnej, jak zmiany klimatyczne. Jednocześnie wykazano, iż skoordynowane działania ośrodków naukowo-badawczych pozwalają na wypracowanie udoskonalonych metod i bardziej kompleksowych rozwiązań zasygnalizowanego problemu. Z drugiej strony taka forma współpracy międzyorganizacyjnej niesie zagrożenia, jak np. trudności komunikacyjne specjalistów z różnych dziedzin i dyscyplin naukowych czy też słabe związki interpersonalne.

W niniejszym opracowaniu zaprezentowano metodyczne aspekty poszukiwania równowagi adaptacyjnej w doskonaleniu jakości w podmiotach leczniczych. Tego typu sytuacja wynikać może miedzy innymi z pojawienia się szeregu destabilizatorów zakłócających realizację działań doskonalących. Istotne staje się także zidentyfikowanie szans i unikanie zagrożeń wynikających z tego typu destabilizacji, a w dalszej konsekwencji podjęcie działań adaptatywnych umożliwiających przywrócenie równowagi organizacyjnej dla określonej fazy podejmowanych działań.
This paper presents the methodological aspects of search for adaptive balance during the quality improvement process in health care centers. Such a situation may result, from the occurrence of a series of destabilizes disturbing the implementation of improvement activities. It is also important to identify the opportunities and threats resulting from this type of destabilization which should be followed by adopting adaptive measures enabling to restore organizational balance for a specific phase of quality improvement activities.

Purpose: The main aim of this paper is to analyze the roles performed by line managers in human resource management at innovation centers in Poland. Design/methodology/approach: The study reviews the subject literature, as well as discusses the results of surveys carried out among line managers of innovation centers from Poland and analyses the research problem applying a descriptive method. Findings: Thanks to empirical research, the paper analyses the roles of line managers in human resource management at innovation centers in Poland and determines the level of fulfillment of individual roles. The importance of different roles for effective implementation of statutory objectives of innovation centers was also identified. The results of empirical research allowed to create certain generalizations concerning the roles performed by line managers of innovation centers in Poland. Research limitations: The limitation of the conducted research consists in, most of all, carrying out surveys only among line managers of innovation centers and, on the basis of the answers given, defining their roles in human resource management. Originality/value: The results of the study complement the gap in knowledge regarding the roles of line managers in human resource management at innovation centers in Poland. The conducted studies of the subject literature confirm the lack of research in this field.

Opis:
Purpose: Main reason to write the paper is to show one of possible models in market research for choosing the macro area for location of distribution center. There is lack of such researches in the research studies so it’s worth to show different perspectives that are also used in real logistics business. Design/methodology/approach: The approach to the topic is to present and introduce the theoretical value of the topic with an analysis of the literature to then conduct empirical research. Main methods used for research were Mixed Methods between Observation, Secondary Data Analysis and Experiments. The goals of the article have been achieved through the scientific study conducted. Findings: The main results developed in the article are concerned with measuring the attractiveness of Poland's regions for investment in creating a goods distribution center for a logistics operator. The analysis model can be used secondarily to analyze other, arbitrarily selected regions. Research limitations/implications: The research conducted in the course of preparing the publication addresses several key factors, selected by the author. Further research may consider other aspects, factors or may be expanded to include additional factors to deepen the analysis. The research may also be part of the contribution or research part to the creation of a universal model for distribution center location choices. Practical implications: (if applicable) What outcomes and implications for practice, applications and consequences are identified? How will the research impact upon the business or enterprise? What changes to practice should be made as a result of this research? What is the commercial or economic impact? Not all papers will have practical implications. Social implications: The research is 100% focused on practical use and application. For logistics operators looking to expand their business, especially in Poland, it provides a starting point for analysis and strategic decision-making within the location of their base of distribution facilities. A limitation is the access to data on demographics and especially considering the level of earnings of operational employees, which is difficult to estimate for a general model due to the lack of specific business assumptions about the scale of operations. Originality/value: The novelty of the article and the study is the attempt to approach universalization in terms of identifying factors and aspects that are relevant and can be applied to the selection of locations for freely chosen and compared regions, not only the level of provinces as in the case of the study developed in the article.

W artykule przedstawiono proces projektowania sieci logistycznej w zakresie wyboru centrum dystrybucji metodą środka ciężkości. Celem artykułu była analiza struktury sieci dystrybucji przedsiębiorstwa specjalizującego się w usługach logistycznych, mająca na celu ocenę przydatności istniejących rozwiązań pod kątem wdrażanego projektu obsługi nowego klienta – przedsiębiorstwa dostarczającego surowce do produkcji elementów dla branży motoryzacyjnej. Na podstawie udostępnionych materiałów dokonano audytu logistycznego badanego przedsiębiorstwa w zakresie realizowanych procesów logistycznych oraz analizy kanałów dystrybucji. W projektowanym rozwiązaniu zostały wzięte pod uwagę prognozowane przepływy towarów i istotne uwarunkowania lokalizacyjne w zakresie wyboru terminala cross-dockowego i organizacji transportu dla surowców importowanych z Czech i dystrybuowanych do trzech odbiorców w Polsce.
The paper presents the process of designing a logistics network in the area of the choice of distribution center by center of gravity method. The aim of the article was to analyze the structure of the distribution network company specializing in logistic services, designed to assess the suitability of existing solutions for project implemented a new customer service – the company supplying raw materials for the production of components for the automotive industry. On the basis of the materials made available, the logistic audit of the surveyed company was carried out in the scope of implemented logistic processes and analysis of distribution channels. The projected solution took into account the forecasted flows of goods and important localization conditions for the selection of the cross-dock terminal and transport organization for raw materials imported from the Czech Republic and distributed to three customers in Poland.

Celem artykułu była diagnoza poziomu satysfakcji z pracy, etyki pracy oraz poczucia koherencji pracowników call center jednej z wiodących polskich firm ubezpieczeniowych oraz analiza związków pomiędzy poszczególnymi zmiennymi. Autorzy sprawdzili czy istnieją różnice w poziomie zmiennych między pracownikami zatrudnionymi w różnych działach firmy. Punktem wyjścia prezentowanych danych empirycznych był model charakterystyki pracy Hackmana i Oldhama, model salutogenetyczny Antonovsky'ego oraz postawy wobec pracy w ujęciu Mirelsa i Garreta.
The purpose of this study was to diagnose the level of job satisfaction, work ethic and sense of coherence among call center employees one of the leading Polish insurance companies and analysis of relationships between variables. The authors examine whether there are differences in the variables between workers employed in different departments of the company. The starting point of the presented empirical data is Hackman and Oldham job characteristics model, Antonovsky’s salutogenic model of health and attitudes towards work in terms of Mirels and Garret.

The predominant goal of the research presented in this paper is the design of a manipulator for a conveyor of bulk materials based on the given requirements. This issue is an emerging topical one mainly for the reasons of increasing efficiency and speed, as well as the safety of maintenance of machines and equipment. Especially, another essential aspect is the reduction of the physical strain on operators during service operations on the conveyor of bulk materials. The introductory part of this paper attends to the materials used for the production of steel structures, their technological processing, as well as different types of joining of their components. The practical part was set out to ascertain the mass and position of the center of gravity of the load itself – the conveyor. From the perspective of acting, it loads the entire proposed structure, although in different operating modes.

Opis:
Celem autorki jest refleksja nad zagadnieniem metod kreacji społecznej aktywności poprzez akcje kulturowe w celu osiągnięcia zrównoważo-nego rozwoju społecznego. Oparciem dla rozważań jest schemat społecznej aktywności: pytanie – wyzwanie – czynna odpowiedź – zmiana. W tekście przypomniano wybrane opinie naukowe (J. Kozielecki, J. Nikitorowicz, I. Krzemiński, P. Sztompka, E. Abramowski) oraz dokonano przedstawienia obrazu praktycznej realizacji procesu aktywizacji społecznej na przykładzie Miejskiego Domu Kultury „Koszutka” oraz Akademii Aktywnego Seniora w Katowicach. Do tez obecnego wywodu należy konkluzja o ważnej funkcji, jaką w procesie kształtowania zrównoważonego rozwoju obywatelskiego pełni dobrze zorganizowana edukacja kulturalna na poziomie lokalnym. Celem tekstu, obok ukazania bardzo dobrze prowadzonej placówki kulturalnej, jest podkreślenie wagi wychowania obywatelskiego poprzez czynne uczestnictwo w kulturze, szczególnie w starszym wieku.
The main point of this article is to present the process of cultural education and stimulation of social activity of contemporary civil society. These actions are to create the state of the social sustainable development. All reflections are constructed on the grounds of the schema: question – challenge – active response – change. The author explore some of the scientific opinions (J. Kozielecki, I. Krzemiński, P. Sztompka, E. Abramowski) and take as for examples the Academy of the Active Senior and the Community Center „Koszutka” in Katowice. The two targets of this article are to describe this cultural center and to underline the importance of the cultural education in the process of creating the social sustainable development.

The current state of the regional market of transport and logistics services in Kazakhstan is characterized by a disparity between the increasing demand for Logistics services and the lack of logistics capacity. In this article, the authors propose a method for determining the most promising areas of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the construction of a logistics center, based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP).
