Aircraft wing design processes should comprise specific analyses oriented towards aeroelasticity, which is one of the essential factors determining flight envelope boundaries. For such cases, static or dynamic aeroelastic phenomena can be simulated using CFD simulation software. ANSYS software offers the fluid structure interaction (FSI) method for solving this multiphysics problem.

Opis:
This study presents a model of continuous oncoming traffic flows of vehicles along highways. The flow of atmospheric air and impurity particles is modeled numerically based on unsteady Reynolds-Averaged Navier–Stokes equations using the MTFS authoring software. Detailing of the flow patterns allows arbitrary length regions of periodicity, taking into account a crosswind. The examples provided demonstrate some of the results of the aerodynamic interaction of two oncoming columns of vehicles. The model of aerodynamic interaction of vehicles in traffic on a straight section of road in tunnels allows an arbitrary number of vehicles in each sub-region, along with an arbitrary, periodically repeating configuration of vegetation and buildings on the side of the road to be considered.

In a few years, autonomous vehicles will slowly become part of traffic flow. This paper evaluated the level of perceived fear of interactions of autonomous vehicles (AVs) with other (vulnerable) road users of different actors in the Czech Republic. Data from the first exploratory project from 2017/2018 are used for the evaluation. A logistic regression model is utilised to evaluate the predictors that influence the fear resulting from interactions of AVs and cyclists or pedestrians. Kilometres driven last year was positively associated with fear of interactions with pedestrians or cyclists (OR = 1,251, p = 0.032). The level of concerns about the risk of AVs is also positively associated with fear of interactions (OR = 1.087, p = 0.000). Out of all socio-demographics and socio-economics, only gender was distinguished regarding the level of fear, with women having a higher chance than men of being fearful (OR = 1.871, p = 0.005). Then, the same model is utilised to evaluate the variables that influence the fear of interactions of Avs and other non-Avs. Only the general level of concerns about the risk of AVs is associated with the level of fear of interactions of AVs and non-AVs (OR = 1.149, p = 0.000). Since these results are only partly in accordance with those obtained in Western countries, our paper concludes that for central European countries, more research is needed to understand the local context and implications of autonomous mobility.

Purpose: Despite the recent surge of interest in the concept of business ecosystem its nature remains poorly understood, with various conceptualizations developed in separate streams of literature. The aim of the paper is to develop an integrated perspective on ecosystems that would help managers better understand changing organizational landscape and inform strategic decision making. Design/methodology/approach: The paper is built on a narrative conflict between the conceptualizations of business ecosystem as either firm environment or governance structure, and on discrepancy in treatment of coordination and other strategic interactions. We first map out the conceptual landscape of the topic, comparing ecosystems with alternative arrangements (industries, and markets and hierarchies, respectively). Then we introduce and apply the concept of strategic interactions as a novel theoretical perspective to design an integrated framework of business ecosystems. Findings: Firm-level strategic interactions (competition, cooperation and coordination) taking place in the ecosystem (viewed as a form of environment) can and should get into strategic interactions with ecosystem-level coordination mechanisms (ecosystem as a governance structure), affecting on the one hand competitiveness of individual members of the ecosystem and the whole structure, and, on the other, boundaries of the ecosystem. Research limitations/implications: Propositions concerning the interface between firm-level strategic interactions and ecosystem-level governance open up new lines of inquiry for management and organizational scholars and computer scientists, and invite their cooperation, e.g. in algorithmic governance. Practical implications: Richer understanding of the nature of ecosystems helps managers make better informed strategic decisions concerning the nature of relations with other organizations. Originality/value: The paper presents new theoretical arguments on the hybrid nature of ecosystems. It emphasizes an increased role of coordination in strategy and ecosystem development and calls for its wider coverage by strategy scholars.

The faulty running gear of rail vehicles can be identified by the results of measurements of vertical forces caused by wheel running surface damages or other wrongness of bogie suspension. Several different automatic diagnostic systems are used in European railways (operating while the trains are in service) to detect damage to rail-wheel running surfaces. The principles of this trackside equipment operation and the reliability of their measurements may differ noticeably. This is especially true in different seasons of the year (winter/summer). Data collection and aggregation results should be checked in equivalency (comparability). The authors compared the efficiency of different automatic systems in detecting wheel failures according to wheel-rail loads in different seasons of the year and presented their results. The authors also compared the similarity of results of the different measurement systems.

Opis:
The importance of modelling and simulation in the field of railway systems has greatly increased in the last decades. Various commercial simulation packages have been developed and are used to analyse the dynamic performance of railway systems. However, although sometimes the user needs to analyse various non-standard solutions, the possibility to integrate further modifications into the structure of such software is quite limited. Therefore, in some cases, in particular for specific modelling and analysis tasks, a feasible option is to develop flexible and robust simulation tools capable of using different configurations by modifying the models performing the dynamic analysis. The paper presents the mathematical modelling background and the conceptual design of a new of a new computational tool for the dynamic simulation of railway vehicle systems. The formulations employed in the proposed mathematical model are based on the multibody techniques. The developed model uses a combined frame of references that allows the use of independent coordinates without the possibility to have singularity configurations depending on the rotation sequence. The simulation tool is designed in a flexible form that enables the study of different configurations of the railway vehicles, as well as various track combinations.
W ostatnich dziesięcioleciach znacznie wzrosło znaczenie modelowania i symulacji w dziedzinie systemów kolejowych. Różne rodzaje symulacji komercyjnych pakietów zostały opracowane i są używane do analizy dynamiki wydajności systemów kolejowych. Jednak czasami użytkownik musi analizować różne niestandardowe rozwiązania, a możliwość integracji dalszych zmian w strukturze takiego oprogramowania jest dość ograniczona. W związku z tym w niektórych przypadkach, w szczególności dla konkretnych zadań modelowych, realną opcją jest opracowanie narzędzi symulacyjnych, pozwalających na elastyczne i niezawodne użycie różnych konfiguracji modeli przy wykonywaniu analizy dynamicznej. Artykuł prezentuje nowe narzędzie modelowania i obliczania dynamicznych symulacji układów pojazdu szynowego. Formuły stosowane w proponowanym modelu matematycznym są oparte na technikach wieloobiektowych.
