This article compares flexible couplings of the spider-type insert, and the tiretype insert. The influences of the volume and hardness of the elastomeric connector on the characteristics of this type of coupling, as well as the course of the change of the stiffness coefficient as a result of changes in the operating temperature, are presented. In drive systems, flexible couplings undergo very frequent changes within a wide range of operating temperatures, which causes a change in the dynamic parameters of the flexible couplings during operation.

W pracy przedstawiono koncepcję budowy nowego typu układów napędowych z metalowym sprzęgłem podatnym skrętnie. W zależności od potrzeb, od rodzaju maszyny, zastosowane w układach napędowych sprzęgło, może mieć różną postać konstrukcyjną. Zaletami nowego sprzęgła są m.in. duża trwałość przy braku niemetalowych elementów podatnych, możliwość przenoszenia dużych momentów obrotowych oraz znacznego łagodzenia chwilowych przeciążeń.
At work a conception was presented of structure of the new type of driving systems with the metal flexible torsional coupling. depending on needs, from the type it coupled machines, applied in driving arrangements, it can have a different structural form. the advantages of the new coupling among others is the great permanence of a lack of non-metallic susceptible elements, possibility of moving great torques and considerable relieving momentary overload.

The optimal tuning of mechanical systems in terms of torsional vibration magnitude is a very important function in flexible shaft couplings. Therefore, a flexible coupling with suitable dynamic properties, particularly dynamic torsional stiffness, has to be carefully chosen for each specific application. The current trend in the field of flexible shaft couplings, and the most noticeable in the automotive industry, is the development and utilization of highly flexible couplings, which means flexible couplings with a very low value of relative torsional stiffness. The aim of this article is to introduce a new type of flexible shaft coupling: a piston pneumatic flexible shaft coupling. This coupling was developed to improve the properties of pneumatic flexible couplings, especially the maximum angle of twist, in order to create a highly flexible pneumatic coupling. For illustration purposes, the piston pneumatic coupling is compared with the tangential pneumatic flexible shaft coupling of Type 3-1/110-T-C in terms of high flexibility characteristics, whereby the characteristic dimensions of both couplings are the same. Given that the piston pneumatic coupling has not been manufactured to date, only a computational model of this coupling was used. The results show that the design of the piston pneumatic flexible shaft coupling combines the advantages of a highly flexible and pneumatic shaft coupling.

At our Department we deal with the development of pneumatic flexible shaft couplings, which in addition to other flexible couplings are able to change their torsional stiffness by adjusting the air pressure in their flexible elements. This article deals with comparison of two selected pneumatic flexible shaft coupling. The first coupling is a newly developed pneumatic flexible shaft coupling with wedge elements. Pneumatic flexible shaft coupling with wedge elements was developed to improve the properties of pneumatic flexible couplings, especially the nominal and maximal torque and maximum angle of distortion. Due to the reason that coupling with wedge elements isn't manufactured yet, we will use only a mathematic model of this coupling. The second coupling is a tangential pneumatic flexible shaft coupling manufactured by FENA company.
Nasz Wydział zajmuje sie rozwojem elastycznych sprzęgieł pneumatycznych, które jako dodatkową funkcję posiadają możliwość zmiany sztywności skrętnej przez dostosowanie ciśnienia powietrza do ich elastycznych elementów. Niniejszy artykuł prezentuje porównanie dwóch wybranych elastycznych sprzęgieł pneumatycznych. Pierwsze sprzęgło to nowo stworzone elastyczne sprzęgło pneumatyczne z elementami klinowymi. Takie sprzęgło został stworzony, aby ulepszyć właściwości sprzęgła szczególnie przy nominalnym i maksymalnym momencie obrotowym i maksymalnym kącie odkształcenia. Ze względu na fakt, że sprzęgło z elementami klinowymi nie zostało jeszcze wyprodukowane użyjemy jedynie matematycznego modelu takiego sprzęgła. Drugie sprzęgło to elastyczne sprzęgło pneumatyczne wyprodukowany przez firmę FENA.

The mechanical devices very often use flexible pneumatic couplings. These flexible couplings have positive attributes for the particular mechanical system and also protect it from damage. At our department, we are interested in that type of couplings, specifically in the flexible pneumatic couplings. The compressed gas is supplied into the couplings. We supply the gas while coupling is running and also in quiescent condition. Those couplings use gaseous medium, in this case air. The main objective of this article is the application of helium gas in the pneumatic flexible couplings and study the impact of these gases on the mechanical properties of pneumatic couplings.
Mechaniczne urządzenia często posiadają elastyczne sprzęgła pneumatyczne. Takie elastyczne sprzęgła wpływają pozytywnie na dany system mechaniczny, a także chronią go przed uszkodzeniem. Nasz Wydział interesuje sie typami sprzęgieł, szczególnie elastycznymi sprzęgłami pneumatycznymi. Do tychże sprzęgieł doprowadza się sprężony gaz. Dostarczamy gaz, kiedy sprzęgło działa, a także w stanie biernym. Takie sprzęgła używają czynnika gazowego, w tym wypadku powietrza. Głównym celem tego artykułu jest zastosowanie helu jako czynnika gazowego w pneumatycznych elastycznych sprzęgłach i badanie jego wpływu na mechaniczne właściwości pneumatycznych sprzęgieł.

Ze względu na rosnące wymagania stawiane pojazdom szynowym, dotyczące komfortu podróży pasażerów, a w szczególności wymagania dotyczące emisji hałasu w nowoczesnych pojazdach szynowych coraz częściej stosowane są zamiast klasycznych kół monoblokowych lub obręczowanych koła elastyczne. Przykładem pojazdów szynowych, w których od lat stosuje się takie koła są wagony tramwajowe. Używanie takich rozwiązań przynosi następujące korzyści: redukcję nieresorowanej masy w pojeździe, redukcję drgań pionowych i poziomych, co powoduje zmniejszenie dynamicznych obciążeń pojazdu oraz toru oraz redukcję hałasu słyszalnego w pojeździe oraz w przestrzeni wokół toru nawet o 10 dB(A). W artykule określono wpływu obciążeń zewnętrznych elastycznego koła tramwajowego stosowanego w tramwaju Konstal 105Na na deformacje elementów gumowo-sprężystych. Przeprowadzono analizę przemieszczeń obręczy koła względem piasty dla różnych wariantów obciążenia. Obliczenia numeryczne przemieszczeń przeprowadzono – przy wykorzystaniu Metody Elementów Skończonych (MES) – w programie ANSYS 11.0.
In this article been identified impact loads of flexible tram`s wheel used in the tram Konstal 105 Na on the deformation rubber – elastic elements. In order to obtain this results we use analysis of the maximum displacement values relative to the rim of the hub during wheel operation. This analysis relied on usage of flexible wheels forces during wheel operation. The value of above mentioned forces have been determined as well as for empty tram and crowded. This numerical displacement analysis have been made by MES (finite elements method) using ANSYS 11.0. program.

In general, standard of ISO10816 is used for drives of transport mechanisms, determinating general criteria and principles for oscillations of machines. On the basis of evaluative criteria of the standard mentioned above, vibrations of a belt conveyer were measured. By experimental measurements it was found that vibrations of the belt conveyer evidently exceed limiting values defined by the standard. For an improvement of unacceptable state, a consequential solution was suggested. The application of pneumatic flexible coupling in drive of the belt conveyer was one of the possible solution. Consequential experimental measurements for verification of vibrations confirmed that application of pneumatic flexible coupling resulted in decrease of vibrations by 60%. Obtained values of vibrations were lower than limiting values of vibrations required by standard. We can clearly state that by proper application of pneumatic flexible coupling, a positive change in values of vibrations of the belt conveyer was reached, and therefore the belt conveyer meets the evaluating criteria according to the standard of ISO10816. This paper was written in the framework of Grant Project VEGA: „1/0688/12 – Research and application of universal regulation system in order to master the source of mechanical systems excitation”.
Do oceny drgań napędu urządzeń transportowych jest stosowana norma ISO 10816, która ustanawia ogólne zasady i kryteria oceny drgań maszyn. Na podstawie kryteriów oceny wymienionej normy zostały sprawdzone drgania przenośnika taśmowego. Opierając się na wynikach pomiarów, stwierdzono, że wartości drgań przenośnika znacznie przewyższają wartości graniczne podane w normie. Następnie zaprojektowano rozwiązanie konstrukcyjne pozwalające na poprawę istniejącego i niedopuszczalnego stanu. Rozwiązanie to polegało na zastosowaniu sprzęgła pneumatycznego w układzie napędowym przenośnika taśmowego. Pomiary wykonane po modyfikacji napędu przenośnika potwierdziły, że zastosowanie sprzęgła pneumatycznego pozwoliło na zmniejszenie drgań o 60%. Osiągnięte wartości drgań były również niższe od wartości dopuszczalnych podanych w normie. Podsumowując, można stwierdzić, że właściwe zastosowanie sprzęgła pneumatycznego pozwoliło na osiągnięcie znaczącej pozytywnej zmiany w wartościach drgań przenośnika i obecnie spełnia on kryteria podane w normie ISO10816.

In this publication, in relation to a specific product portfolio, on the one hand, from the perspective of the manufacturing company and, on the other hand, from the perspective of an intermediary, an attempt to assess and measure its competitiveness was made. Therefore, its main objective is an attempt to reply to the question: is the manufacturing activity (B2B model) or merchanting [resale of previously purchased products], understood as B2C model, more profitable from the perspective of the generated profit amount?

The contribution briefly approaches the author’s profile in the field of scientific research during his work at TU in Košice. More precisely, it presents a selected, specific area of torsional oscillation of mechanical systems concerning the characteristics, research and application of new elements, i.e., so-called pneumatic tuners of torsional oscillation (pneumatic couplings), a field that the author has long been devoted to. In the process, the article informs the reader about the development of new types of flexible shaft couplings, i.e., tangential and differential pneumatic couplings (also with autoregulation), presents the results of static and dynamic measurements made on certain couplings with the interconnection of pneumatic flexible elements and draws attention to the conditions involved in the application of these coupling types in torsionally oscillating mechanical systems.

Opis:
The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of flexible air-spring systems operating in parallel to share the total load, taking into account installation and in-operation errors. This study presented experimental and calculated characteristics of the air spring flexibility and its dependence on the polytropic index and additional volume. It considered patterns of load distribution between the air springs when they are operating in parallel to share the total load for the case when the air springs were used as the supporting elements for various machines and units, and between transmission lines containing flexible couplings, where air springs were installed as flexible elements.
