Opis:: Currently, global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) play a key role in the broad field of security and human life. In principle, almost every area of human activity (for example, mining, energy or construction) systems related to saving human life are introduced. Generally, satellite navigation is an indispensable element of this type of systems. In this paper, authors present basic principles of the GNSS operation and the current state of knowledge about usage of the global navigation satellite systems in the area of safety, protection and rescue issues.

Opis:: Safety in rail transport is a problem that many countries are struggling with. Rail transport is one of the main areas of Poland’s economic development. The authors analysed and interpreted statistical data on the condition of the railway infrastructure and rail safety, as well as identified the main causes of railway accidents. The development of rail infrastructure has a significant effect on freight and passenger transport safety. Among the most serious hazards in rail traffic are accidents and rail collisions. The most frequent rail accidents occur at level crossings, where those responsible are motor car drivers. There is a clear trend showing a decrease in the number of accidents with an increase in the percentage of well-preserved rail lines. This situation is a consequence of social awareness.

Opis:: Vibration phenomena occurring in vehicles are very relevant for safety and comfort. Passenger car must be considered as a multi-technical system in which there are non-linear phenomena. Therefore, vibrations occurring in vehicles should be analyzed in many points of car structure and relate them to other criteria analysis. The paper presents examples of the results of vibration and their distribution at selected points during laboratory research and road tests.
Zjawiska drganiowe występujące w pojazdach samochodowych mają bardzo istotne znaczenie dla bezpieczeństwa i komfortu jazdy. Samochód osobowy należy rozpatrywać jako wieloelementowy system techniczny, w którym występują zjawiska nieliniowe, dlatego drgania występujące w pojazdach należy analizować w wielu punktach konstrukcyjnych i odnosić je do innych kryteriów analizy. W artykule przedstawiono przykładowe wyniki badań drgań i ich rozkładu w wybranych punktach podczas testów laboratoryjnych i drogowych.
