Opis:
Spring water discharge and physicochemical properties were investigated in four springs of the Szreniawa catchment. The catchment is located in the western part of the Miechów Upland and is composed of Cretaceous marls and limestones. Spring discharge was measured in two-week intervals from February to November 2011. The water was being sampled for chemical composition once a month. The aim was to determine discharge changes in the springs and physicochemical properties of water. Relationships between the properties of water in the years 2000–2011 have been also analyzed. All the examined springs are characterized by a steady discharge. According to the Meinzer’s efficiency classification, most of the springs belong to class III. The total average spring discharge is about 496.4 dm3 · s–1. According to the Shchukarev–Priklonskii classification, these waters represent the HCO3–Ca type. The samples are characterized by a relatively high mineralization of water in most springs exceeding 500 mg · dm–3. The springs located nearby can be very different in terms of chemical composition of water, which is controlled by the variations in aquifer rock lithology and local groundwater horizons. The total dissolved solids, concentrations of Ca2+ and HCO3 measured in 2011, were always higher than in 2000. It may indicate an increase in the aggressiveness of the water.

Opis:
Evolution of a sedimentary basin in the Miechów Depression (MD) during the Jurassic was due to the synsedimentary tectonic activity of the Caledonian–Variscan structures. There was a local zone of maximal subsidence extending NW–SE in its area. The Włoszczowa Massif (WM) in the basement of the Permian-Mesozoic cover in central and NW part of theMD was an element of a little lesser subsidence in comparison to the adjacent NW and SE areas. A narrow graben in the Lasocin–Strzelce Dislocation Zone separated it from the Holy Cross Mts. Block (HCM). The Mid-Polish Trough invaded the MD from the NW. The edge of WM (Pilica Fault) limited a reach of the pre-Bathonian SE ingressions. In addition, transgression from an inland basin (from SE) developed since the Bathonian. Grabens and horsts elongated NNW–SSE were formed in the central part of MD. They continued further S-wards beyond the edge of the Carpathians. In the Callovian and Late Jurassic facial zones in the central and NW part of the MD were elongated NW–SE. The zone of major subsidence was located between Pągów and Kostki Małe and stretched further SE into the basin of the Carpathian Foreland. During the Late Oxfordian and Kimmeridgian the shallowest zone of the basinSWto theHCMwas located in theNpart of the WM. Structures formed in the MD area pointed at an oblique extension directed to NW. It was effected by palaeostress directed to NW, stronger in the NW part of the area and gradualy decreasing. The stress reactivated two oblique-slip fault systems: Kraków–Lubliniec and Lasocin–Strzelce. Also an increasing tension to W, stronger in its S part, might be recognized. It activated the Zawiercie Fault in the Late Bajocian and caused left-slip rotation of the WM in the Late Oxfordian. The tectonic model controlling sedimentation during the Latest Jurassic and Early Cretaceous was very similar to the pattern of subsiding and elevating zones formed in this area during Variscan compression. The Mid-Polish Trough was formed by dextral extension and reactivation of dislocations parallel to the edge of the East European Craton. The consolidated HCM-block belonged to a zone of elevated blocks, characteristic for the axial part of an extension basin.

Opis:
The paper presents the characteristics of sulphide watersin the Busko-Zdrój, Solec-Zdrój and Kazimierza Wielka area. The chemical composition was determined on the basis of results of analyses of groundwater samples from the B-4b Aleksander, B-8b Michał, B-13 Anna, B-16a Wiesława, B-17 Ignacy, Busko C-1, Las Winiarski LW-1, Winiarski Forest LW-2, Cudzynowice GT-1, Solecki Shaft and Solec 2 Karol boreholes and the Gadawa (shaft), Szczerbaków (shaft) and Piestrzec springs. The following hydrochemical facies of sulphide waters were identified: Cl-Na, Cl-SO4-Na and SO4-Ca. Hydrogeochemical modelling allowed determining the saturation state of the solution relative to the mineral phases of the reservoir rocks.

Opis:
An interesting phenomenon of echinoid accumulation occurring in the Lower Turonian (Mytiloides labiatus Zone) at Glanów village (Miechów Upland) is the main topic of the paper. The bed investigated consists of poorly cemented sandy-marly limestones with thickness of about 30 cm. The accumulation of echinoids is older than that of documented in Wielkanoc which is of middleto-late Turonian age and situated in the same region under study. Apart from a dominant echinoid species Conulus subrotundus Mantell represented by adult and juvenile forms that are dispersed in the bed, the second echinoid species -a regular form Salenocidaris granulosa (Woodward)-has also been noted. Additionally, the skeletal elements of crinoids, ophiuroids, asteroids, as well as bryozoans, annelids, poriferans and shark teeth have also been found in the bed under study. Preliminary observations indicate that the origin of the echinoid accumulation corresponds well with the Conulus bed from the Wielkanoc quarry as a result of luxuriant development of echinoids and complex sedimentological, paleoecological and tectonic factors.

Opis:
Triassic and Jurassic siliciclastic rocks from boreholes drilled in the Łódź and Miechów troughs to the SW of the Mid Polish Anticlinorium have been subjected to petrologic studies. The are represented by claystones, mudstones, sandstones, and less frequently by conglomerates. The studies shows that the filtration and reservoir properties of the Triassic deposits not good due to diagenetic processes (compaction, cementation, replacement, dissolution). Only some Lower Triassic sandstones, occurring among others, as intelayers, display increased values of permeability and porosity (to about 27 vol. %). The best properties are display ed by sandstones from the Brzegi IG 1 borehole, in which macropore intergranular space is present. The Lower Jurassic rocks are characterized by the best properties within the Jurassic complex. They show increased values of mostly secondary porosity, which results from the dissolution of grains and cements. The pore space is developed homogenously. It has a micropore character in the Middle and Upper Jurassic deposits.
