Opis:
Objectives: The aim of our study was to investigate a relationship between weekly physical activity and quality of life in elderly women. Methods: Participants were 22 elderly women ≥ 60 years (mean age 66 . 27 ± 4 . 99) with weight ≥ 50kg (mean weight 74.84 ± 14. 87kg) from Nitra. In this pilot study we used 2 questionnaires. The assessment of quality of life (QoL) was conducted by Short - Form General H ealth Survey (SF - 36). To examine weekly physical activity we selected International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ). Both questionnaires were evaluated separately by standardized scoring manual for SF - 36 and IPAQ. To examine a relationship between r esults of SF - 36 and IPAQ we used non - parametric Spearman's correlation coefficient (r s ). Results: The results from IPAQ show significant relationship between quantity and quality of weekly physical activity and age (r s = - 0. 562). More significant relations hips were found in results from SF - 36. The results showed significant relationship between domain of Vitality (r s = - 0. 508), Social Functioning (r s = - 0. 634), Mental Health (r s = - 0. 537), Mental Health Summary (r s = - 0. 549) and age. There was also signific ant relationship between domain of Vitality (r s = - 0. 598), Mental Health (r s = - 0. 505), Mental Health Summary (r s = - 0. 505) and weight. In this study, the results did not show relationship between weekly physical activity and domains from SF - 36. Conclusion s: According to the results from both questionnaires we follow the age - related decline of weekly physical activity, vitality and mental health. In our study, questionnaires IPAQ and SF - 36 did not show relationship between each other. For the further invest igation we intend to use different questionnaires for elderly people or we could measure the physical activity with pedometer or other new devices which are now available on the market.

The report presents the internship analysis results between the p hysical activity during the week and life quality fields in mid and late adolescence of students in different sport level. In the research took part students from secondary schools and universities from Slovakia (n=308). The life quality was observed via m odificated questionnaire SQUALA and the level of the physical activity during the week in hours (PA). The results are presented by descriptive characteristics (n, M, SD) and the statistic importance of differences, relations is rated by non – parametric me thods (W, U, r s ) at the levels of importance (p< 0. 05, p< 0. 20; p = level of significant = p - value = 1%, 5%, 10%, 20%).Positive interactions PA with life quality fields were found in mid adolescence. In the group of active athletes in mid adolescence were pr oved positive interactions with the f ield of physical well - being (p<0. 10), field of appearance and possession of things (p<,01), by occasional athletes with the spiritual field (p< 0. 01) and the field of education (p< 0. 20). In the group of students in late adolescence was proved a positive interaction PA only with the field of material safety (p<0.01).It was repeatedly proved that mid and late adolescence is a very stormy and unstable period of lifetime, mainly when talking about satisfaction with life qual ity. The importance of life quality plays a great role in the lives of adolescents. It was also pointed out that there are possibilities to influence the fields of life quality via physical activities, but especially the importance of creating sufficient c ircumstances to enhance the life quality in social environment of adolescents. The contribution was published via the grant resource MŠ SR KEGA 003UKF - 4/2016.

The contribution presents the relationship between the frequency of physical activity during the week and fields of life quality of kindergarden teachers in three mature parts. In the research took part kindergarden teachers from Slovakia (n = 211) who were divided into groups according to their ontogenesis. The life quality was observed with a modified questionnaire SQUALA and the physical activity level frequency during the week. The data is presented by descriptive characteristics (n, M, SD) and statistic importance of differences, let us say relationships which are measured by non-parametric methods (W, U, rs), by the importance level (p<0.05; p<0.10). The results showed the most numerous correlations between the physical activity during the week and fields of life quality of teachers in age group from 36-46 years (middle mature) who do the physical activity M: 3.250 during the week by SD: 2.761. In this group were proved positive correlations with the field of physical well-being (p<0.01), psychosocial well-being (p<0.01), material well-being (p<0.01), education (p<0.10), free time (p<0.05), appearance and property of things (p<0.01). Specially this age is characteristic by reaching the highest goals of physical and mental performance. In the groups of younger and older mature we do not find so many important relationships between the physical activity and some fields of life quality. In these groups we did not find any important correlations of physical activity with physical well-being where the group of young mature reached the same level of physical activity as the group of middle mature. The conclusions show the importance of physical activity in life of kindergarden teachers, they show some possibilities of influencing the life quality through the physical activities but also creating the optimal conditions possibilities to increase the life quality in social environment. The contribution is part of the Ministry of Education grant KEGA 014UKF-4/2013 Improving the quality and level of health of adolescents by means of physical activity in primary and secondary schools.

Opis:
One from the important preconditions for optimal performance of all physical activities is a good quality of balance. Aim of Study: The study is focusing to find out the effect of pressure distribution beneath the foot on the balance and to compare the quality of balance in physically active and inactive young women. Material and Methods: Subjects of our study were two groups of healthy young women. A: physically active women (n=28; age 21.5 years; physical activity 8.8 hour/week), B: physically inactive (n=28; age 22,0 years; physical activity 1.3 hour/week). Three balance test we carried out: double-leg stance, eyes open (EO) and closed (EC) for 30 second, one-leg stance (right, left) for 10 second. Pressure walkway (FDM system, fi. Zebris) was used for data collection. Parameters: COPv: velocity of centre of pressure (mm/s), relative value of average pressure beneath the foot (%). Results: We found out that a physically active group of young women have significantly better results in all tests (p≤0.05). Both groups showed a similar tendency for significant deterioration of the results when elimination the support surface or the visual sensor in relation to the basic OE test. The differences in the distribution of pressures between the groups were significant in the M-L directions. Inactive women significantly more loaded the non-preferred leg and the rear part of the foot. Active women showed a more balanced stance in both directions, with a slight tendency to increase the loading on the front part of foot. Conclusion: It was confirmed that the group B has a partly worse characteristics of balance than physically active peers. The foot load strategy was less favourable for the group B; during EO. Only two interesting correlations were found in active women; between COPv and ratio of feet load. Remaining correlations to COPv were low.

Opis:
Introduction: The paper presents the results of the interaction analysis between physical activity (PA), joy of movement (PACES) and areas of quality of life (SQUALA) of high school students with different levels of sport performance and different ages. These factors have wider background. Phenomenon of the subjective assessment “PACES” is stepping to the foreground. “PACES” proves high frequency of interactions with the areas of SQUALA, more than a single volume of PA. Despite of enough PA in week and high level of PACES, no expected interactions with areas of SQUALA in high school students were demonstrated. The low number of positive interactions points to the necessity of monitoring this construct, also in the relation to gender, to different sports level, type of school, region, country and age. Material and Methods: The survey was attended by 16-19 years old (n = 1302) high school students. The quality of life was examined through SQUALA questionnaire, enjoyment of physical activities by the PACES questionnaire and the level of physical activity in hours per week (PAQ) and by sport level. The data are presented by the descriptive characteristics and statistical significance of the differences, respectively the interactions were evaluated by nonparametric methods. Results: The interactions between PA, PACES and SQUALA in high school students with different sports level with different ages have been proven very sporadically. Positive correlations of PA with areas of SQUALA prevails in 18 and 19 years old students. The joy of movement correlates with spiritual well-being in groups of students who carry out the physical activities occasionally and regularly. Positive interactions of joy of movement with physical well-being have not been proven. Negative interactions between the PA, PACES and SQUALA prevails between 16 and 17 years old students. Conclusion: The higher age factor and factor of the regular movement in high school students appears to be very important in this study. The results reaffirm the importance of voluntary and organized physical activities which have potential to raise the level of the joy from the movement in life of high school students.

Introduction: Regular physical activity is associated with physical, and mental benefits, whilst insufficient physical activity (PA) is associated with number of negative health outcomes (e.g. metabolic syndrome, brain health, cognitive functions, insulin resistance, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, sarcopenia, coronary heart disease etc.). In our systematic overview, we look into relationship between participation on regular PA and health of young people. Material and methods: Electronic databases were searched for articles related to connection between PA and correlated diseases in young man. Results: The search resulted in 137 identified records of which 54 records articles were included in the presented review. Conclusions: Based on our findings, we recognize that human body rapidly maladapts to insufficient PA, and if extended for a longer period of time, it will result in substantial decline of health. Altogether, conclusive evidence exists that physical inactivity is one of the most important cause of most chronic diseases. In addition, PA especially in younger age can primarily prevents, or delays chronic diseases, assuming that chronic diseases may not be an inevitable outcome throughout life. Our review suggests that PA exert substantial positive effect on health of young men, however, to reach a true consensus, the mechanism behind these observations must be further elucidated.

Opis:
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The main problems associated with losses at the motor level are: tremor, rigidity, postural instability and bradykinesia. Many publications related to rehabilitation in PD r efers to methods which are used to rehabilitate patients, but there is lack of significant amount of publications concerning tools to examine the effectiveness of these programs. The purpose of the work was to determine the suitability of Senior Fitness Te st (SFT) in the assessment of the effectiveness of physical rehabilitation of people with PD. The research was conducted in a group of 52 people (age 64.52 ± 7.56 years) with idiopathic PD disease (duration of the disease was 6.69 ± 4.93 years) in II stage in Hoehn & Yahr scale. Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) was used to determine the clinical status of patients. Parkinson's Disease Quality of Life Questionnaire (PDQL) was applied to determine the quality of life. The patients were divided into a group of participants and non -participants in the process of physical rehabilitation. Obtained results in the tests showed statistically significant differences between the groups in all the tests. The biggest absolute difference was observed in the Back Scratch test (308,33%). In order to achieve the main goal of the work, the correlation coefficients between the quality of life and the results of the SFT were calculated. The obtained results show that correlation between all the tests in both groups is at least moderate. The highest correlation was recorded in the "2 -minute walk" test in both groups. It was found that there is a relationship between SFT results and the quality of life of people with PD. SFT is a helpful tool in assessing the effect iveness of physical rehabilitation of people with PD.
