    Opis:
    The chief aim of this study is to explore the essence of legal professional privilege and analyse its scope in criminal proceedings. Legal professional privilege plays an essential role in the criminal process as it guarantees every individual the adequate exercise of his or her right of defence and to a fair trial. It should be stressed that the privilege is not uniform since there is dualism manifested by a distinction between defence lawyer's privilege and advocate's privilege, other than the former. The author discusses the Polish regulations and relevant case law. Also, amendments to the current regulations will be proposed.

    Ochrona interesów klienta wynikająca z prawa (obowiązku) zachowania tajemnicy adwokackiej w Chinach na tle rozwiązań polskich – narodziny systemu. Część II. Rys historyczny rozwiązań polskich od upadku I Rzeczypospolitej do czasów współczesnych Po długotrwałym okresie rozwoju rodzimej kultury prawnej, systematycznego wzrostu znaczenia palestry w życiu społeczno-politycznym kraju oraz umacniania jej wpływów, nastąpił czas zdecydowanie gorszy dla prawników. Utrata niepodległości na ponad sto lat i konieczność funkcjonowania w strukturach monarchii absolutnych wywołały szereg negatywnych skutków we wzajemnych relacjach adwokatów z ich klientami, przede wszystkim w zakresie prawa do zachowania tajemnicy adwokackiej. Kolejne stulecie zaś, mimo odzyskania niepodległości przez Polskę, przyniosło nowe, trudne wyzwania w procesie kształtowania stosunków uczestników postępowania sądowego.
    The Protection of Client’s Interests, as Arising from the Right (Requirement) to Rely on Legal Professional Privilege in China, Compared to Polish Solutions – the Development of the System. Part II. A Historical Overview of Polish Solutions from the Fall of the First Republic of Poland until Modern Times After a long period of the native legal culture development, a systematic increase in the importance of the Bar in the social and political life of the country and the strengthening of its influence, there was a period much worse for lawyers. The loss of independence for more than one hundred years and the necessity of functioning in the structures of absolute monarchies caused many negative effects in the mutual relations between attorneys and their clients, primarily in the area of the legal professional privilege. Despite the fact that Poland regained its independence, the next century brought new, difficult challenges in the process of shaping the relations between lawsuit participants.

    Opis:
    The aim of the article is to present the beginnings of the formation of the legend of one of the Bar Confederation commanders, and at the same time a hero of the American Independence War, Kazimierz Pułaski. The fame of the best military commander of the Bar Confederation assumed the shape of Pułaski's Bar legend, that was a reproduction of the myth of a knight/soldier in the context of the social demand for the image of a hero giving his life in the struggle against the enemy. For Pułaski's legend the fact was significant that initially the legend was completely positive, but after the attempt to abduct King Stanislaus August Poniatowski it also absorbed a negative component, in this way creating Pułaski's ambiguous image. However, soon Pułaski's Bar legend was affected by the legend of the Bar Confederation whose aim was independence, and as a result it started Pułaski's pro-independence legend, additionally inspired by the American Independence War. In consequence in the Polish literature of the Romantic period there were two Kazimierz Pułaski's legends: the legend of the Sarmatian age, and the pro-independence one.

    Opis:
    The action of Quidam is set in Hadrian's Rome. Public and private hysteria rises due to the Jewish war 132-135 p. Chr., but also to a conflict between Hadrian's religion policy and its Greek, Jewish and Christian opponents. The Jewish uprising is confronted to Greek non opposition and to the Christian way of opposition by public faithwitnesses. It is raised to the role of a `motor' in a ruined epic machine, and hints to modern Polish (or other nations') uprisings. Barchob (Bar-Kokhba?) is shown as a Roman Jew's disciple, secret admirer of Christian courage, friend of Alexander, the poem's main person; as a messianic fighter in Judea; and finally as an advocate of interreligious solidarity. Quidam is a „przy-powieść”, a „para-novel” with a ruined narrative time and action structure, and a „parable” which answers strangely to Chateaubriand's demand for Christianity epics, forming an allegory also of modern civilisation, police state, public opinion, modern conflictual cultural and religious pluralism, modern individualism, scepticism and altruism.
