    Social economy and the Church's social teaching are joined not only by a similar object of interest, i. e. a common axiological foundation in the form of certain values and principles. It seems that the existence of such connections on the axiological level is not very well known, which can be proven, among others, by the fact that it is hard to find any studies or even mentions connected with it in the literature on the subject. Hence an attempt seems justified to look closely and to analyze this connection in order to indicate the details of mutual implications, and so to show the possibilities of mutual enriching these two domains of human reflection on social life. The article analyzes particular principles of social life that are preached by the Church as part of its social teaching, with respect to their presence or the necessity of considering them in social economy. First it points to (1) the source and foundation of all the social principles, which is the human person, and then it shows (2) the dignity of work and the call to be enterprising. Next, the following principles are analyzed: (3) the common good, the general allotment of goods and preferential option for the poor, and finally (4) solidarity, subsidiariness and participation.

    Opis:
    This paper deals with the issue of the faith of the lay, which finds it realization in daily reality and leads to the evangelical change of the world. The paper starts with the reference to the Church doctrine of the lay faithful, based on selected document of Vaticanum II and the teaching of the Blessed John Paul II. The paper also presents a wider cultural and spiritual background of contemporary reality of the life of the lay faithful. In the first section of the paper, the author defines precisely the Christian understanding of the lay faithful, pointing out that the lay Christian vocation is realized in the broadly understood world. The lay vocation is an autonomous Christian path, still being a sphere of God’s action and influence. The author proceeds to discuss the roots of lay spirituality and of the areas of the lay extensive evangelical engagement: family life, political involvement, socio-economic activities, research or charity. Next, the author presents how a lay person can lead his/her life in accord with the evangelical counsels, which help introduce harmony between the secular world and the radical Gospel. The relationship between the evangelical counsels and the commandments is also discussed. The last section of the paper is devoted to the unfavourable changes in contemporary postmodern culture, which have a negative impact on the spiritual life of the faithful.

    In the last 30-40 years there has been an increased interest in research on socio‑economic changes. Thus, there has been a shift away from measuring only the material dimension of development. Researchers started using categories such as: consumption, standard of living, level of living, economic welfare, wealth, living conditions, quality of life, a way of life, lifestyle, etc. The problem that we face in quite extensive literature is the lack of application of a uniform terminology. Attempts to define these categories should be regarded as not fully satisfactory because they do not allow the adoption of clear solutions. We can only point out some proposals that include many significant features conducive to the study of the social dimension of the economic transition. This article attempts to resolve problems of the definitions of three basic categories related to the study of socio-economic changes, which are: conditions of life, standard of living and quality of life.

    Opis:
    Being a theatre actor requires specifi c abilities, such as the ability to function in situations of social exposure, to feel and express diff erent emotions in a short time, and feel exactly like the character they play. This profession is perceived as unique and prestigious. The aim of this research was to establish the predictors of the sense of quality of life in a group of actors. The study involved 52 professional theatre actors. The results showed a positive correlation between the sense of quality of life and dimensions of emotional intelligence, social competences, and self-esteem. Moreover, the predictor that explains the largest variance in the subjective quality of life in the group of actors is the acceptance of emotions.

    W ostatnich 30-40 latach nastąpiło wzmożone zainteresowanie badaniami nad zmianami społeczno-gospodarczymi. Tym samym nastąpiło odejście od mierzenia jedynie materialnego wymiaru rozwoju. Zaczęto używać takich kategorii badawczych, jak: konsumpcja, poziom życia, stopa życia, standard życia, dobrobyt ekonomiczny, zamożność, warunki życia, jakość życia, sposób życia, styl życia itp. Problemem, który napotyka się w dość bogatej literaturze przedmiotu, jest brak stosowania jednolitej terminologii. Podejmowane próby definiowania wymienionych wyżej pojęć należy uznać za nie w pełni satysfakcjonujące, ponieważ nie pozwalają one na przyjęcie jednoznacznych rozwiązań. Można jedynie wskazać pewne propozycje, które zawierają wiele istotnych cech sprzyjających badaniu społecznego wymiaru przemian gospodarczych. Celem artykułu jest próba rozstrzygnięcia problemów definicyjnych trzech podstawowych kategorii związanych z badaniem zmian społeczno-ekonomicznych, którymi są: warunki życia, poziom życia i jakość życia.

Na przykładzie zaangażowania parafian w różne formy parafialnej aktywności przedstawiony jest potencjał parafii jako ośrodka życia nie tylko religijnego, ale także społecznego, kulturalnego czy ekonomicznego związanego ze wspólnym pochodzeniem etnicznym. Podane informacje zilustrowane są danymi z ogólnodostępnych badań socjologicznych dotyczących religijności, aktywności społecznej w parafii oraz prognoz dotyczących przyszłego kierunku przemian w tym zakresie.
    The text contains information on the socio-religious role of a parish working in a migrant comunity. On the example of parishioners’ involvement in various forms of parish activities, the potential of the parish is presented as a center of life not only in a religious terms, but also in social, cultural or economic issues connected based on ethnic background. The mentioned information are illustrated with data from publicly available sociological research on religiosity, social activities in parishes and forecasts for the future direction of changes in these areas.

    The need of reflection on the tasks of the lay people in the Church and in the world twenty years after the Apostolic Exhortation Christifideles laici was published seems obvious. From the point of view of an observer living in Poland it must be said that recently the discussion on the role of the laity in the Church and in the world has been outshone by the big problems connected with the systemic transformation of the country and Poland’s accession to the European Union. The author of the article, leaving the question of the role of the laity in the Church to other authors, focuses on the possibilities that exist now, and at the same time on the difficulties and limitations of realization of apostolic tasks by Polish Catholics in different parts of social life. The starting point for this reflection is outlining the modern social-cultural context for the apostolic involvement of the Catholics in the world, and the point it strives to reach is showing the direction for a revival of the social apostolate of the laity in Poland.

    Artykuł poświęcony jest poznaniu specyfiki organizacji i formy pracy socjalno-psychologicznej z dziećmi i ich rodzicami znajdującymi się w trudnej sytuacji życiowej, w oparciu o instytucje pomocy społecznej, takie jak: domy dziecka, ośrodki socjalizacyjno-rehabilitacyjne, centra wspierania dziecka i rodziny. Artykuł omawia treść i elementy procesu rehabilitacji dzieci narażonych na niekorzystne warunki socjalizacji. Stwierdzono, że najbardziej sprzyjające warunki dla skutecznej pracy z dzieckiem i jego najbliższym otoczeniem społecznym występują wówczas, gdy dziecko, będąc w instytucji opieki społecznej, ma całościowo zaplanowaną strategię pracy z nim samym oraz jego otoczeniem rodzinnym. Autorki opracowały koncepcyjne podejście do indywidualnego planowania pracy z dzieckiem i rodziną, będących w trudnych warunkach życiowych. Zaproponowano elementy indywidualnego planowania pracy z dzieckiem i jego rodzicami lub osobami, które ich zastępują, w oparciu o ocenę potrzeb i zasobów zarówno dziecka, jak i jego najbliższego otoczenia społeczno-rodzinnego. Stwierdzono, że pierwszoplanowym zadaniem pracy z dzieckiem jest kompleksowa ocena potrzeb dziecka oraz jego otoczenia. Skoncentrowanie uwagi pracowników socjalnych, pedagogów społecznych oraz psychologów na właściwym sformułowaniu celów rehabilitacji konkretnej kategorii dzieci prowadzi do efektywnego działania w zapewnieniu dziecku i jego najbliższemu otoczeniu wsparcia w aspekcie socjalnym oraz psychospołecznym.
    The article is devoted to the learning of the specificity of content and social-psychological work with parents who find themselves in difficult circumstances, in the rehabilitation process of children at the institutions of social protection, shelters for children's, the socio-psychological rehabilitation centers. In the article have been discovered the content and process components of rehabilitation for working with the children and their exposed in the situation, when the child's stay in the unfavorable conditions of socialization. It was determined that the most important terms of the effectiveness of the child and its closest social environment in a situation is planning and forecasting work, when the child stays in the social security institution. Authors have been developed conceptual approaches to individual planning of work with children and families who find themselves in difficult circumstances, in the process of social and psychological rehabilitation. Proposed the individual components of planning with the child and his or her parents or persons substituting them, based on an assessment of the needs of the child and his immediate social environment. It is proved that the primary stage of the work with the child is the primary and comprehensive assessment of the needs of the child, and his or her social environment. Concentrated attention of social workers, working psychologists on aim to correct formulation of rehabilitation of this category of children, that ensuring the effective and efficient approach to determine required types provide of the comprehensive social and psychological assistance to families.

    Wszelkie oddziaływania wychowawcze wiążą się według S. Kunowskiego z „ukształtowaniem prawidłowej postawy wychowanka wobec przyszłego życia”, a więc przygotowaniem się do lepszego życia poprzez naukę, zdobycie zawodu, znalezienie własnego miejsca w społeczeństwie i założenie własnej zdrowej i trwałej rodziny. Funkcjonowanie w świecie i dokonywanie wyborów ułatwiają mu analiza ciągle zmieniającej się rzeczywistości i jej interpretowanie. Istotne jest to, jak młody człowiek postrzega świat i swoje szanse na przyszłość. Orientacja pozytywna, traktowana jako podstawowa tendencja do zauważania i przywiązywania wagi do pozytywnych aspektów doświadczeń i samego siebie, to postawa, która jest niezwykle pomocna w budowaniu i realizowaniu planów. Podstawowym założeniem koncepcji jest przekonanie, że takie postrzeganie świata, siebie i przyszłości świadczy o podstawowej predyspozycji człowieka do radzenia sobie w życiu, pomimo przeciwności, problemów i porażek. W pierwszej części artykułu zostały omówione wybrane koncepcje zachowań celowych, przedstawiające aktywność adolescentów w kategorii celów stawianych sobie przez podmiot oraz teoria orientacji pozytywnej. W drugiej części artykułu są zaprezentowane wyniki badań nad orientacją pozytywną i celami życiowymi wychowanków Młodzieżowych Ośrodkach Wychowawczych w Polsce.
    Any pedagogical measures are to “shape the right attitude of wards towards their future life.” Thus they are to prepare them for a better life through education, acquiring professional skills, finding a place in society, as well as starting a healthy and lasting family. It is easier to be a part of the world and make choices if a person is able to analyse the ever-changing reality and to interpret it. It is crucial how a young man perceives the world and their chances for the future. What helps to develop and implement one’s plans is positive orientation. It is a basic predisposition to notice and attach weight to positive aspects of one’s experience and oneself. The concept assumes that a positive perception of the world, oneself, and the future reflects the fundamental human predisposition to cope with life against all the odds, difficulties, and failures. The first part of the paper focuses on the theory of positive orientation and selected concepts of purposeful behaviour, while showing human action as goals set by a person. The second part of the paper presents the research findings on positive orientation and life goals of wards of the Youth Educational Centres in Poland.

    Pandemia COVID-19 uświadomiła z całą wyrazistością wiele dylematów, związanych z ochroną życia i zdrowia, dotyczących nie tylko sprawności systemów opieki zdrowotnej, ale także o charakterze moralnym. Celem artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na niektóre z nich z perspektywy teologicznomoralnej ze szczególnym odniesieniem do społecznego charakteru troski o zdrowie i życie. Rozważania przyjmą postać ogólnej prezentacji problemów i wyzwań związanych z epidemią COVID-19 z odniesieniem do fundamentalnych zasad życia społecznego.
    The COVID-19 pandemic has made clear many of the dilemmas related to the protection of life and health, not only about the efficiency of health systems, but also about of a moral nature. The aim of the article is to draw attention to some of them from the theological and moral perspective, with particular reference to the social nature of care for health and life. The reflections will take the form of a general presentation of problems and challenges related to the COVID-19 epidemic with reference to the fundamental principles of social life.
