    In today’s reality, which is constantly changing and transforming, the constant pursuit of material goods and social position is very evident. Parents often have no time for other household members. While they are mainly concerned with providing their children with the best possible material conditions, they pay too little attention to satisfying their psychological needs. Hence, the feeling of loneliness, which in contrast to solitude, is always a difficult and unpleasant psychological state, appears more and more often among children. The paper attempts to analyse the phenomenon of children’s loneliness in their parents, its sources and ways of overcoming it.
    We współczesnej rzeczywistości, ulegającej ciągłym przemianom i przeobrażeniom, w sposób bardzo jaskrawy uwidacznia się ciągła pogoń za dobrami materialnymi i pozycją społeczną. Rodzice często nie mają czasu dla pozostałych domowników. Troszcząc się głównie o zapewnienie dzieciom jak najlepszych warunków materialnych, zbyt mało uwagi przywiązują do zaspokajania ich potrzeb psychicznych. Stąd coraz częściej pojawia się wśród dzieci poczucie osamotnienia, które w przeciwieństwie do samotności jest zawsze trudnym i nieprzyjemnym stanem psychicznym. W opracowaniu podjęto próbę analizy zjawiska osamotnienia dziecka w rodzinie, jego źródeł oraz sposobów jego pokonywania.

    Opis:
    The ontological loneliness of the human being, experienced in the personological aspects of existence, may become constructive or destructive, a fact that depends on the person's will and the factors mentioned in the paper. Having conducted a conceptual analysis, the opposite tendencies in the contemporary times were shown: towards universalism and unification on the one hand, and excessive individualism on the other. They are conducive to cultivate loneliness and ignore the possibility to transform it in person-making solitude. The indispensable experience of loneliness may become something that is voluntarily turned into a chronic form that impairs the personal development, whose manifestations have been characterised. The false picture of the gift of solitude has been set side by side with its proper interpretation, the interpretation that is conditioned by the acceptance of the true hierarchy of values. It allows us to perceive the values of solitude shown in the text. The importance of the personal trait of solitude is shown in its role decisive of development or regress, in dependence on its true or false interpretation. It is worth considering the hidden message of the attribute of ontic separation. That separation, as it is impossible to replace solitude by material and human factors, directs persons towards the supernatural reality. The “Gospel of solitude” means hope to do away with loneliness and turn it into solitude that brings unity with God.

    Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie motywu pustyni w myśli duchowej Piotra Damianiego. W pierwszej części zaprezentowany został krótki rys biograficzny Piotra Damianiego, pozwalający lepiej zrozumieć jego wybory w życiu duchowym. W drugiej części została pokazana koncepcja życia monastycznego wzorowanego na życiu jego mistrza duchowego – św. Romualda. Piotr Damiani rozróżniał dwie drogi w życiu zakonnym: życie wspólnotowe i życie pustelnicze, eremickie. Według niego życie wspólnotowe było swoistym przygotowaniem do życia pustelniczego. W trzeciej części artykułu została zaprezentowana wartość i znaczenie życia pustelniczego, a także różnica między życiem wspólnotowym a życiem pustelniczym. Piotr Damiani podkreśla, że pustynia i cela jest idealnym miejscem dla mnicha, który chce osiągnąć doskonałość w życiu duchowym. Życie na pustyni jest pewniejszą drogą do zbawienia, ponieważ daje możliwość oderwania od świata i możliwość kontaktu z Bogiem poprzez modlitwę, kontemplację i praktyki ascetyczne. Pustynia jest miejscem ćwiczenia się w cnotach przez post, milczenie i modlitwę, jest także miejscem walki ze swymi wadami i z szatanem. Pustynia jest niezbędnym etapem dla tych, którzy chcą osiągnąć szczyty życia mistycznego.
    Le but de cet article est de presenter la signification du desert dans la pensee spirituelle de Pierre Damien. Dans une premiere partie on a présenté une courte biografie de Pierre Damien qui a permis de mieux comprendre ses choix dans la vie spirituelle. Dans la deuxieme partie on a montre sa conception de la vie spirituelle qu’etait inspiree de la vie de son maitre spirituel - saint Romuald. Pierre Damien a distingué deux voies dans la vie monastique: la vie communautaire et la vie solitaire, érémitique. D'apres lui la vie communautaire est une sorte de préparatoire pour la vie solitaire. Dans une troisieme partie on a présente la valeur et l’importance de la vie érémitique et la difference entre la vie communautaire et la vie solitaire. Pierre Damien a souligne que le désert et la cellule est l'endroit idéal pour le moine qui veut atteindre la perfection dans la vie spirituelle. La vie au desert est la voie la plus sure pour atteindre le salut car elle nous separe du monde et elle donne des conditions plus favorables a la priêre, à la contemplation et aux pratiques ascétiqucs en union avec Dieu. Le desert est l'endroit ou on s’exerce dans les vertus par le jeune, le silence, et la priere, mais aussi un endroit de combat avec nos vices et avec Satan. Le desert est un passage indispensable pour ceux qui veulent atteindre le sommet dans la vie mystique.
    The purpose of this article was to present the meaning of the desert in spiritual thought Peter Damian. In the first part we presented a short biography Peter Damian has provided insight choices in spiritual life. In the second part we showed his conception of the spiritual life that was inspired by the life of his spiritual master - St. Romuald. Peter Damian distinguished two ways in monastic life, community life and the solitary life, hermit. Community life is a kind of preparatory for the solitary life. In a third part we presented the value and importance of the hermit's life and the difference between community life and the solitary life. Peter Damian pointed out that the desert and the cell is the perfect place for the monk who wants to achieve perfection in the spiritual life. Life in the desert is the surest way to attain salvation because it separates us from the world and it gives more favorable conditions for prayer, contemplation and ascetic practices in union with God. The desert is the place where it is exercised in virtue by fasting, silence and prayer, but also a place of combat with vices and with Satan. The desert is a vital passage for those who want to reach the top in the mystical life.

    Artykuł poświęcono społecznym i edukacyjnym aspektom samotności i osamotnienia osób starszych. Punktem wyjścia podjętych rozważań było określenie pojęcia starości oraz wskazanie głównych problemów i kryzysów ludzi starych. W dalszej kolejności wyjaśniono istotę samotności i osamotnienia. Następnie, odwołując się do wyników wybranych badań i analiz, omówiono problem samotności i osamotnienia osób starszych. Wskazano na społeczne zróżnicowanie, przyczyny oraz skutki rozpatrywanych zjawisk, a także sposoby ich przezwyciężania. Zwrócono również uwagę na rolę edukacji w dziedzinie samotności i osamotnienia osób w wieku senioralnym.
    The article is devoted to the social and educational aspects of loneliness and solitude of the elderly. The starting point of the considerations was to define the concept of old age and to indicate the main problems and crises of old people. Next, the essence of loneliness and solitude was explained. Then, referring to the results of selected studies and analyses, the problem of loneliness and solitude of the elderly was discussed. The social diversity and causes and effects of the considered phenomena, as well as ways of overcoming them, were pointed out. Attention was also paid to the role of education in the field of loneliness and solitude of senior citizens.

    In consequence of the globalization process and of an unprecedented development of the electronic media – that abolish the time and space barriers – the world has been called a global village. It could seem that owing to this fact people would easily get closer to one another. However, what can be seen is the quickly growing phenomenon of loneliness. The range of atrophy of deep interpersonal bonds is so serious that the term „lonely crowd” has been coined. This happens so because the possibilities and technical facilities themselves – although they undoubtedly constitute a chance – cannot form deep interpersonal relations, as the relations are formed by people who can become an unselfish gift and accept others as a gift. Unfortunately, the occurring civilization transformations, and a disintegration of the traditional family that happens along with them, contribute to an increase in the lack of understanding and in loneliness in the family circle. Loneliness in the family results from the lack of proper bonds between its members. Hence being together is often reduced to the physical presence devoid of a deeper, spiritual dimension. Living together, but not united, leads to solitude that can affect everybody: the spouses, children, elderly people. In order to be a real community a family has to constantly discover anew its communal identity. Marital and familial „community of persons” – although it grows from a gift of the loving God – is a task for the people forming it.

    Liryczne miniatury Zmitraka Biaduli (wł. Samuel Płaŭnik), najwybitniejszego przedstawiciela nurtu impresjonistycznego w literaturze białoruskiej, zajmują szczególne miejsce w jego dorobku twórczym. Biadula odznacza się niebywałą umiejętnością tworzenia nastrojowych pejzaży, zamykania licznych wrażeń w tak „drobnych” utworach. Zauważamy w nich specyficzne nasycenie emocjonalne, uwarunkowane przedstawieniem świata uczuć i zmysłów w wysoce zsubiektywizowany sposób, ze szczególnym upodobaniem do zapisu przelotnych i niewyrażalnych pojęciowo stanów psychologicznych. Szczególną rolę odgrywa tu pejzaż, przyroda. Przyroda jest w ciągłym ruchu, w coraz to nowych postaciach i formach. Interesująco przedstawia się też forma brzmieniowa analizowanych utworów. Takie elementy muzyczne jak powtórzenia, inwersyjny tok wypowiedzi, operowanie paralelizmem składniowym, pauzą, wprowadzanie licznych onomatopei i konstruowanie słów w pewne wyczuwalne struktury brzmieniowe pełniły bardzo ważną funkcję.

Uznana za powieść o gentryfikacji i szeroko krytykowana za rzekomą jej celebrację, powieść szkicuje dużo bardziej wyważony obraz procesów gentryfikacji. Dzieje się tak dzięki reprezentacjom domów, tytułowych brooklyńskich kamienic, które funkcjonują zarówno jako synekdocha okolicy czy społeczności, w której się znajdują, oraz jako odbicie dynamiki rodzin je zamieszkujących.
    This article constitutes an analysis of the depiction of houses in Jonathan Lethem’s 2003 novel The Fortress of Solitude, universally labeled a novel of gentrification. It is my contention that despite being criticized for its alleged celebration of the process the text nevertheless paints a more nuanced picture of gentrification. It does so through the depiction of houses—t he titular brownstones of this essay—that function both as a synecdoche for a larger neighborhood or community that they are situated in and as a reflection of the dynamics of the family units that occupy them.

    Tra i tanti segni dei tempi nel mondo moderno c'è anche una specifica intelligenza della corporelità umana. Più prezioso d'uomo diventa il suo aspetto. Si dimentica spesso che il corpo è espressione dello spirito umano. L'uomo, per vedere il senso e il valore della sua corporelità, ha bisogno della speranza, ha bisogno del Vangelo. Karol Wojtyla – Giovanni Paolo II nel suo insegnamento ci fa vedere nella luce della Creazione, della Redenzione e della Santificazione il valore del corpo dell'uomo. Egli ci aiuta a sentire „la buona novella” di un uomo che „ha il corpo” come pure „è il corpo”. L'uomo ha conseguito il corpo da Creatore come il dono. Anche il corpo prende parte arealizzare l'immagine di Dio. L'uomo attraverso il suo corpo può essere „un dono sincero di sé” per altra persona. Gesù Cristo, Parola del Padre, „è diventato carne” per redimere l'uomo. In virtù dello Spirito Santo l'uomo si santifica come la persona, anche attraverso il suo corpo. In questo modo avrá il suo compimento nella gloria della risurrezione e in comunione di Trinità. Questa comunione si realizzerà anche a livello personale, quindi anche attraverso il corpo dell'uomo.
